So that means just one free agent o-lineman.

Well, Rhaney was, what? a 7th round, developmental pick

    He dont even count.

Unless he was more than that, and, counted.

In other words, there was some buzz about Rhaney. The camp reporters and the reporters noticed it, and the coaches mentioned it.

Compare that to Van Dyck, who was also a 7th round pick. Around him, there was…nothing. No buzz.

Buzz is not a guarantee. But, it stands out.

Ok, now i remember. I was thinking about Van Dyck.

Rhaney did seem to have some promise.

    He also had that transcript-story.

What he still had, though, were the contents of a little sandwich bag. And from that little bag came one of the most inspiring journeys to the doorstep of the NFL….”

What a great story. Certainly someone you root for. Maybe Fisher wasn’t just giving lip service, and he’s legit and ready to go.

I’m really annoyed that GW himself didn’t realize this last year. The year before, the defense finished the season so strong, teams couldn’t run on us. There should have been more continuity more simplification. Ogletree should have been a pro-bowler.
The best defensive coordinator in the Fisher era is and has always has been Fisher.

Well it wouldn’t be the first time a coach
didn’t fit the plan to the players he had.

It’s not always easy to know exactly
what the players can or cant handle, btw.

Well, I think it’s very telling that Fisher wants to simplify things, even though this will be the teams second year in GW’s system. That tells me that it was WAY OFF (too complex) what it should have been. Otherwise, why not stay the course.

Yeah, that’s the point I was trying to make.

    Oh.

Well why did you make me misread you, then.

    .

    Lol….

I gotta think the turf is just death to big people. All that mass colliding, the cement just bounces all that kinetic energy back to the joints and body.

Disappointed to hear there will be no grass in L.A.

It is annoying how all of our O-lineman get injured despite how many miles they have on ‘em.

    Or…don’t have on them.

Last year Barnes had 3 injuries. He was in his 4th year.

Jones got the back injury in his 2nd year.

Rhaney got IRed as a rookie. The other rookie, Robinson, had toe surgery after the season.

    .

Yeah, that’s the point I was trying to make.

i really want two or even three
healthy, young, bucks. With no injury history.

Cool. We can then start a pool on what order they get injured in, and how often.

    .

Stop sending negative thoughts into the universe! The line WILL be healthy….everyone needs to repeat that mantra.

@jthom1: After visit to Kansas City, free agent guard/center Tim Barnes agrees to terms w/Rams. He is expected to sign Tuesday.

Rams finally make a splash in the offensive line free agent market. WOO HOO!!! GO RAMS!!!!

We like Barnes. We just didn’t like him good enough to tender him as a restricted free agent. The minimum tender was about 1.5 million. That would have given us the right to match any offer he got.

    Dang…..seems risky to me.

Wisniewski, Barksdale, Barnes and 2 or 3 hosses from the draft and all of a sudden I don’t feel so bad about this line. I want some real prospects.
I think Mathis is a pipedream.

If Chris can stay healthy this year, than I wouldn’t cut him either. But if he gets injured again, I think it would be his third year in a row, than I would save the cap space (even though I love him).

After reading about Cignetti from his college offensive coordinator days, I am very optimistic and curious. I think he will do some great things.

Proceeding earlier, Goodell said, would give relocating teams a better opportunity to properly transition to a new marketplace.

“Which is the goal if there is a relocation,”

This is such horseshit. It only screws the cities trying to keep their teams. There’s no other advantage to rushing it.

i see, so you are saying their probably wasn’t an offensive lineman with a second round grade at that point. I guess i can buy that. I guess they didn’t realize they were going to let would let 3 or 4 guys go this year.

I wrote a whole post and it got lost when I hit submit.

Basically, yeah, he needs to be better to justify that pick. But, it’s been one (injury riddled) year, so I too will wait and see.

Well that’s too bad, b/c I like reading your posts.

To me, even if he plays well, he’s a second round role player. Why not think about Davin Joseph’s replacement at this slot.

I know, I know, I have hindvision and all that.

Hmmm……I trust Warner’s assessment. So in essence, we just need a good offensive line to give him time to go through his reads.
We have Robinson and Saffold….hell, that’s all we need!

Yeah, “praying for Barksdale to return” doesn’t really sound like the battle cry of a super bowl worthy offensive line. Man I didn’t think we’d be in this situation. I thought Fish would have it down by year 4.

Yeah I’m with u. I have a real problem with the lack of urgency to fix the oline. And although zn posted that the line has been worse, that was towards the end of season and those guys were backups. Not in March.

And if developmental players really are ready to step up, why didn’t they get any playing time at the end of last season. Would have been nice to size them up before you have to make major personnel decisions.

It looks great, but I dont’ get it. Open on the sides but covered on top with glass? so it’s an open air stadium with a roof that you can’t air condition? What am I missing?
