(Thanks snow!) What was it like to be there? Was it a rough sit-through? Rams did hold on for 3 quarters.
I’m not Snow, but it was easily the loudest game that I’ve attended… jet fighter loud. So that was pretty cool. Everything else was pretty much not cool. I didn’t realize that Webster was out of the game again until I was watching Hatfield and Countess chase Thielen all the way to the endzone. However, I was pretty sure that the Rams weren’t coming back after the Vikings got their second TD. The Rams were getting killed in the trenches. Even when Webster was still in the game the lack of a pass rush seemed to make things easy for Keenum and Thielen.
Anyway I saw the band Kansas play on Saturday night and then I went to the Timberwolves/Pistons game on Sunday night. So the trip had some good moments too.
US Bank Stadium is quite a spectacular venue I must say.
canadaramParticipantSure the Rams can compete with the Vikings. However, since I’m making the trip south to attend this game a Rams win seems highly unlikely. Sorry in advance.
canadaramParticipantI watched about 4 drives of the game today, and it looked to me like the Vikings defense is good.
The Vikings D is very good. They were playing without their sack leader, Everson Griffen, vs. Washington. I’m assuming that he’ll be back vs the Rams as it sounds like they were just be cautious with some soreness in his foot.
canadaramParticipant18) I think we clobber the Vikings next week. I don’t think they have enough on offense to keep up. I think they’ll have turnovers and their defense won’t be able to keep them in it.
I don’t agree with that at all. I think Diggs and/or Thielen can both light up the Rams secondary. Furthermore, the Rams offense will be hard pressed to put up big points against the Vikings defense.
canadaramParticipantOld emotions die hard for me. Whenever the offense starts a game with a long dry spell, like they did today, I assume that they won’t be able to turn it around. Thirteen years of bad offense will do that to some of us I guess. But man-o-man, did they ever turn it around in the 3rd quarter.
I watched most of the Vikings/Washington game today. Aside from a couple of mistakes from Keenum, Minnesota looked unstoppable. Tough, tough game coming up.
canadaramParticipantI remember hearing Gil Brandt talk about Saturday afternoon roster moves a few years ago. He said that sometimes teams wait until Saturday afternoon to make roster moves because it is less likely that another team will pick up the waived player. Perhaps the Rams are hoping to get Donnal back.

I agree on both the Saints and the Vikings. Drew Brees is still going strong, Alvin Kamara looks unstoppable and their defense seems reborn. The Vikings continue to win even with Keenum starting because their defense is elite. If either Bradford or Bridgewater can return and stay healthy I would think that they can make a big run.
canadaramParticipantWow. This team might just make a believer out of me yet.
canadaramParticipantI wonder if this was a one time thing, or a persistent problem. Suspended indefinitely kinda makes it sound like the latter.
canadaramParticipantI really enjoyed reading that. I don’t know if anything in there is embellished – and by that I mean the overall message of good feelings with the 5 – 2 start – but the article makes it seems like there were players who knew that Fisher’s approach wasn’t working and things needed to change. Or maybe they just thought that Fisher’s approach would not work with the roster that Fisher had assembled, and since Fisher was responsible for assembling that roster I guess it circles back to Fisher’s approach wasn’t working. Anyway, I’m always interested to hear about the specifics, like fines for being even one second late for a meeting. Does that imply that Fisher was less concerned about punctuality? Does that kind of approach lead to a casual approach by the players? Conversely, do players eventually become worn out by McVay’s approach? That’s not to say that I read anything that suggests that McVay’s approach might be a problem. I didn’t see that at all. Currently, everything seems great, but winning has a way of making people happy. I feel like I had a point to make, but I fear that this post is turning into me rambling on about nothing in particular. I guess I like that the article gave some substance to the changes that McVay has made. I always have a difficult time understanding terms like “culture change” without any specifics.
canadaramParticipantWow. So many weird sensations throughout my body.
October 19, 2017 at 11:39 pm in reply to: Can the Rams beat Arizona in London? Must win game? #76289canadaramParticipantThough they might be on the decline I believe that the Cardinals are still more talented than the Rams. This is the best offense that the Rams D has faced this season. The Rams are going to have to play mistake free football and force some turnovers to win this game. I’m not confident about the Rams chances.
canadaramParticipantI deleted that one though.
So now, no one else will ever know that happened. That’s because you’ve always hated Matt Giordano! You can’t stand to see the most polarizing Rams safety in franchise history get credit for anything.
canadaramParticipantI liked the highlights from 2013. I barely remembered anything about that game.
canadaramParticipantHigbee keeps getting a fair share of targets as well.
canadaramParticipantsomeone correct me if i’m wrong, but it seems like woods is becoming goff’s favorite target which would make sense. he’s a smart savvy veteran wr.
Yes, I agree with that. Woods is currently my favourite Ram. Compared to some other NFL WRs he’s not the most athletically gifted guy, but he’s tough as nails and reliable.
canadaramParticipantSpecial teams; how many times can you count on your special teams to put up the points needed to win? Super happy that the Rams are 4-2 instead of 3-3, even if that felt like a Fisher era win. Hopefully the Rams passing game can get back on track soon.
canadaramParticipantWinning on the road is tough. This is the beginning of a crazy long road trip for the Rams. I see another low point output from the the offense. If they’re going to beat the Jaguars the Rams will need some big plays from the defense and/or special teams.
I guess I should have said multiple big plays from the ST will be needed.

canadaramParticipantComing into this season my Rams spirit had taken such a beating that my only wish was for this year was to be encouraged about this team’s future. The Rams offense looked ugly yesterday. Between the offense and Tavon’s fair catch fumble the Rams turned the ball over 5 times, but they still almost won, they probably should’ve won. In year’s past yesterday’s mistakes would result in a 21 point loss. Through 5 weeks the Rams have had a chance to win every game in the 4th quarter. I realize that the winless Niners have been in every game too, but the Sean McVay era has me hopeful. I was disappointed yesterday, but I’m feeling less so today. I don’t think that the Rams are a playoff team this year, but it seems like they could be soon.
canadaramParticipantDespite the Rams good start to 2017, I still think that Seattle is the more talented of these two teams. So I expect the Seahawks to win this game. Goff and the Rams receiving corps has not faced a secondary like this yet this season. If Goff throws for more than 200 yards I’ll be surprised. Similarly, I think it will be tough sledding for Gurley on the ground.
The Rams best hope is for Seattle’s offense to lay an egg. I’m not holding my breath though. I expect Wilson to inflict some damage with his legs and I expect Baldwin and Graham to give the Rams D problems as well.
I expected the Cowboys to win big last week so take it all with a grain of salt.
canadaramParticipantI saw him in Toronto this past July. It was the first time I’d seen him live. I was struck by how much energy he had. Not the same kind of kinetic energy that I’ve seen from Springsteen in concert, but a real palpable energy nevertheless. Petty blew the proverbial roof off of the dump. Before seeing him live I never considered myself a hardcore fan, but I felt that way after the concert. I knew all but one of the songs he played. The only song I didn’t recognize was from his most recent album. Afterwards I realized that there were a ton of songs that he didn’t play that I also know well and love. Such an extensive catalogue of songs. He was a poet. I’m grateful that my better-half made me go to that concert.
canadaramParticipantI find the use of Tavon as a back up RB to spell Gurley interesting. I know he was used there occasionally under Fisher, but it appears that it will be a more regular feature this season. He had some good drive extending runs today.
canadaramParticipantJust saw Wade Philips do the breakdown in the locker room post game. Gotta be the funniest post game locker room video I’ve seen.
Anyway, what an incredible win. Damn if this team isn’t getting me to start believing. That first half was just what I expected. That second half was nothing like I expected.
canadaramParticipantI see Dallas as the more talented team. And where the Rams do have talented players, Donald for example, the Cowboys are seemingly strong enough to counter. Their interior o-line is still a force despite Elliot’s tough game two weeks ago. I would expect Havenstein to struggle with Demarcus Lawrence. So far I’ve seen nothing from the Rams defense that suggests that they can contain Elliot so once that running game gets going I expect Dez Bryant and Witten to cause some problems as well.
The Rams will have to score a lot of points if they are to pull out this win. At least the Cowboys are coming off of a short week.
canadaramParticipantI have a soft spot for Keenum so I mostly wat he’s the Vikings game. He was excellent today. Diggs is amazing. If Bradford can stay healthy the Vikings are looking like one of the teams to beat in the NFC.
I caught the end of the Lions/Falcons game. Robinson looked serviceable on the final drive down the Falcons inch line. Stafford looks unstoppable at times.
Lions
Vikings
FalconsThose are my teams to beat in the NFC. Go call your bookies.
canadaramParticipantEven in the face of arguments that cite a lower level of competition, so far Goff has exceeded any of my expectations. I’m pretty conservative when I dream though.
canadaramParticipantSpecial teams were a disaster. I really wish Cooper would just stay in the endzone more.
free range
*Free rein*
I think that I was confusing him with a chicken.
canadaramParticipantSpecial teams were a disaster. I really wish Cooper would just stay in the endzone more.
Yes!
He seems to have free range to take the ball out anytime he wants. Unless he’s on the brink of turning into Devin Hester, I’d prefer that he always stay in the endzone and just take the 25 yard line. On that fumble he really was holding that ball out there right up until he was holding it no more.
