i don’t want to lose woods either, but how does a team justify paying three wide receivers 15 million a year?  i’m not a cap expert, and the rams certainly do things differently…  it just seems like you wouldn’t be maximizing production relative to the amount of cap space you are allocating to a particular position.

i think hunter is plausible.  he missed all of 2020 and half of 2021.  he’s productive when healthy.  even last year he had 6 sacks in only 7 games.  he had elite production without aaron.  i can only imagine how he’d be playing WITH aaron.

and the rams still plan on signing obj if you believe rodrigue…  so the rams want kupp, woods, robinson, jefferson, AND obj?  i think they’re prepared to go into the season with those receivers, but i gotta believe that they would prefer something else.

also.  i’m not completely sold on robinson.  i’m reading reports that he quit on the bears last season.  i don’t like reading stuff like that.

I do not consent to a Robert Woods trade.

They can deal Jefferson if they want, though I can’t see what that would accomplish. He’s cheap, and without much trade value.

But I want the Rams to get an edge rusher the easy way. Maybe the NFL can rig it for the Rams to win two years in a row.

I’d consider giving Solomon Thomas a one year, cheap deal. I know there has been a bust label on him, but the kid is 26, and has some talent. Put him on A.D.’s side, and I get the feeling, he’ll have a breakout type of year.

WR Allen Robinson on choosing the Rams: “I wanted to step into an environment where I can be the best I can be. They’re coming off a Super Bowl, and I haven’t yet won a Super Bowl. To be around a group of guys who have done that is only going to make me better and push me.”

i did not realize that he and ramsey played together for 2 seasons in jacksonville.

i’m assuming ramsey had nothing but great things to say about robinson.  i’m beginning to warm up to the signing.

So…not similar to Van Jefferson, then?

Rams GM Les Snead says Von Miller’s departure led to Allen Robinson’s signing: “We held a spot for Von and we held some cap space for Von, so when he chose to go to Buffalo … what we did was pivot to a different position that we felt would help our football team.”

FWIW, CBSsports has Allen Robinson as #1 on its list of best FA signings so far. The author is very high on Robinson, and think he is worth a top 5 WR contract, and he signed for much less.

    Best signings

    1. WR Allen Robinson

    headshot-image
His AAV of $15.5 million puts him outside the top 15 of highest-paid receivers, which makes this somewhat of a steal for the Rams, but more importantly they landed someone who could be one of the best receivers in the NFL. Robinson has virtually never had good quarterback play. He now gets that in Los Angeles with Matthew Stafford. This is a move that showed the NFL world the Rams are set on repeating.

Rams like ARod’s skillset. Rams feel that in their new offense, ARod > Woods (post injury). Rams will not be able to get Kupp and ARod catches in the offense and still get Woods enough catches to keep him happy.

    Hacksaw

If we get anything like the younger Robinson were going to be solid. This guy wins the 50-50 balls regularly. It’s remarkable how often he had to in the video. This guy will be a monster in the RZ. If OBJ sticks and comes back to form, our reciever room is going to be the talk of the town.

Two things stood out to me the most today. 1. Allen Robinson looks like he could play a game tomorrow if he had to. “His football aptitude is incredible,” said Cooper Kupp. Caught up with Robinson after practice to get to know him a little more; yeah, that guy is special.

    from here: https://theramshuddle.com/topic/may-otas-reports-snippets/

McVay has taken notice of Robinson’s effort and ability, too.

“He’s locked in in the meetings,” he said. “And I think the first thing that stands out is just the body control for a bigger receiver. I bet you that he’s a baller on the basketball court. He’s wired to be able to double-up, play underneath himself. Some of those bigger guys who play as big as he does typically don’t have the ability to get in and out of their breaks as seamlessly as he does. But I think his transition in and out of breaks, how smooth he is for how big he is physically, it’s been very exciting. Really love getting to know him a little bit more every single day.”
