    Hacksaw

What the fans of the remaining opponents are saying. Bye week edition. Lions, Bears, Eagles, Cards.

    LIONS

I had the Rams winning it all. So I’m sticking with the Rams.

In the event they (Lions) go 9-7, only loss being to the Rams, they would have a decent shot in making a WC

Lions still trying to figure it out, again.. for I dunno how many years now. For frick sakes,

The Rams’ D-line is impressive, but their back seven is blech.

Monday Night Football has shown multiple shots of Rams coach Sean McVay talking into his headset mic, covering his mouth with his play sheet — and they’ve shown the play sheet in close-up. Close enough to read it.
It might take a LITTLE forensic sharpening. But not much.

If ya’ ain’t cheatin’ ya ain’t tryin’.

I don’t think it will matter as long as our QB continues to walk to the line of scrimmage, yell “Blue 80” 3 times before audibling into a run up the middle into a 9 man front.

Only if you think it will stop Donald from ripping Stafford limb from limb in 2 seconds, while the rest of the bozos round here scream he needs to get the ball out sooner to blanketed receivers.

Who’s this Aaron Donald guy???……sure glad we passed on him, to take Ebron!
    #ThisFranchiseSUCKS

See even Mahomes looks like Stafford when Donald comes in 2 seconds

The silly thing here is that the best comparison for Mahomes is a young Stafford and the best comparison for Goff is a young Brees. Goff is a lot like Brees in his accuracy and need to get rid of it quickly.

Goff threw a TD to Woods in the first half last night that had REAL touch on it. That is the difference between good QBs and Stafford. Stafford literally cannot make that throw.

Anyone that compares Stafford to these 2 guys (Goff / Mahomes) is just asinine. These are 2 of the most talented roster in the league. Both have great run games and niether have ever been sacked 17 times in 2 weeks

They need to ban yellow shoes and gloves. I keep thinking I am seeing a flag.

The Rams v Chiefs game was ridiculous. 14 TD’s!?
Sorry to say that it shows just how far behind the Lions are in this “Super Bowl window”. Those offenses are space age while the Lions are lucky to grit their way to 30 points.

After awhile though I was wishing for some D. I like scoring, but that was insane. My little brain could barely take it.

A Rams defensive end scored as many TD’s as we are averaging at the moment!

There’s an old adage that rings true today. There is no defense against a great offense. And it’s corollary, there is no defense against a perfect pass.

Sean McVay was OC in Washington for 3 years, where he coached them to a 21-26-1 record – so how did Sean McVeay start instantly coaching so much better? Could it be Jared Goff. Belichick has a losing record, when his QB isn’t Tom Brady.

After tonight, Rams have a bye week so that they can prepare for the Lions.

    BEARS

How can the Bears defense stop them? Goff releases that ball faster than Mack and Hicks can get to him.

Bear weather! Lol seriously you can’t. Hopefully they can keep them in the 30s. Offense will need to win it but they will have Talib back.
It could get ugly honestly, hopefully the Bears hold their own.

I don’t think it’s a win yet, but it’s not a lock they’ll beat the Bears at home.

    Bad weather, simple as that.
I have faith in our run D to stop Gurley, because we have pretty much stopped every teams run attack. Our run D is our strongest aspect to our team really. If it ends up snowing that game we could easily see a defensive battle.

I can’t even process what I just watched. The Chiefs D is hot trash, but the Rams D? It’s good, but they suck at the same time? 51 points is 51 points, and it isn’t the only high scoring game they’ve allowed.

so far the path to victory against the Rams comes through stopping Gurley and hitting Goff in the mouth.

I’m not delusional, we would need a great number of things to go our way to beat the Rams.

The only way we beat St. Louis is if we get pressure up the middle and contain Gurley.

No, the Rams will beat them in season to set up the playoff upset.

I feel like this some kinda black magic voodoo shit thread, is it suppose to give the bears good luck vs the rams ? Because the amount of fuckery going on in here is completely on the level of the mentally handicapped.

    EAGLES

    go Chiefs

I wish we had a Gurley

i need the rams kicker and hunt to get me 5.4 points tonight. if i dont get it i might fly to KC and kill andy reid myself
    :shock2:
    Amazing. They have HFA

its cause it is a primetime game and the rams are actually good.

It’s like watching a whole different sport compared to the Eagles offense

    What’s up with Gurley?

(FF )note to self, start josh reynolds when the rams play the eagles!

chiefs defense doesnt have many guys hurt and is equally as bad as ours. that has to make you feel better.

Depressing watching all the explosive players that these teams have.

    f this

Aaron Donald is a goddamned cheat code

Over under on Donald sacks vs Eagles? 4?

So, can we pump the breaks on the Mahomes Hall of Fame induction?

Donald is a man among boys. The guy is awesome.

i love fletcher but donald is really in a league of his own at the position.

This has been a video game.
    I’m watching Madden Night Football…LOL.

Very late observation, but one thing the announcers said earlier in the game was that the Rams gave three 1st round picks on the D line and how that’s a rare sight

Warner was just asked if he’d ever been in a game like this. He said there may have never been a game like this.
His last playoff win was 51-46 in OT over Rodgers.

nothing like up 3 8 minutes left and not giving a single touch to the best running back in football.

Damn. What sorcery is this? This is nuts.

    WOW!
it just keeps going and going and going…They’re gonna break the scoreboard!!

its really tough payton and the saints are bunch of dbags. the rams fans are a bunch of fraud and dbags. the chiefs i wouldnt mind but you know reid will screw it up

    Saints/Rams nfccg will be fun.

That was the most amazing game ever. NFC East teams need to just pack up their lockers and move on to next year. The Birds have the best roster in the division and they just got housed by the Saints…who might not even be as good as the Rams and Chiefs.

    CARDINALS

And as bad as the Rams defense was, it was also making plays. Which it wasn’t doing against NO. Umbaku had a breakout game and they’ll be getting Talib back soon after the bye. It doesn’t compute for my brain but this team is actually built to win a championship as is.
Losing Kupp may have actually forced Goff to get better.

The KC defense did a good job of stopping Gurley last night. They couldn’t slow down the Rams passing attack.

I’m too old school to want to see the NFL turn completely into what we watched last night. Funny though that when the game was on the line, the Ram’s D had 2 picks.

If I want to see this kind of scoring I’ll watch Arena football.

They should trade Donald to the Cards and rebuild.

I loved the “Aaron Donald is a goddamned cheat code” line.

    Also…”I’m watching Madden Night Football…LOL.”

    And…”Damn. What sorcery is this?”

That was as good a collection of comments as I’ve seen compiled.

    Props to Hacksaw for that.

“I know our offense has to be excited to play against Aaron Donald, play against Ndamukong Suh, a guy that used to be here, (Michael) Brockers.”
    ————-
Pot is legal in Michigan and everyone is mellow caught up in their dreams.
    ———–
The Lions will keep the Rams to under a point a minute.
    ————
Possibly a shut out against the rams?
    ———–
Yeah. I can see the Lions not scoring a single point after Suh and Donald murder Stafford!
    ——————————-
Why I’m picking Detroit Lions to beat Chicago Bears — and L.A. Rams
    Carlos Monarrez, Detroit Free Press

They’ll surely beat the mighty Los Angeles Rams. Yes, the offensive juggernaut that just scored 54 points. The Lions will beat them. Book it.

Why? Because this team makes no sense. It is beyond reason.

Yep, the Rams know how to score. But their defense isn’t close to elite. After a defensive line that features Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh, the Rams aren’t great on defense. They rank 24th in scoring, allowing 25.6 points per game and overall they rank 21st — two spots worse than the Lions’ defense. A fumble here, a pick there and the Lions have a chance to win this game at home.

Make this reporter take a drug test.
    ————–
I think the koolaid you guys are drinking is laced with something.
    ————–
So The Lions will score 147 points against The Rams?
    ————–
wow – didn’t take Carlos to long get a hold of recreational Marijuana. didn’t think it was in effect for a few more days, but appears he ate an entire gummy haha
    ————-
Carlos started drinking a few days before the holiday.
    ————-
If Donald lines up over Wagner on passing downs ,Stafford will not finish the game.
    ————
Will the Lions open up this offense against the Rams?…or

The Rams are going to beat the s*** out of Detroit just like other teams
    ————–
This would normally be a game where you mortgage your house, call your bookie or head to Vegas and put everything on the over.

The Rams will do their part and shred our defense. But even on a porous secondary like the Rams’, the Lions won’t score. They can’t score on anybody. They couldn’t score when they had Tate-Jones-Golladay-Kerryon.

Look for more of Stafford going fetal a second before the D-line gets to him.
    ————-
Rams will quickly go up 14-0 and it will be turtle mode.
    ————-
We will try to run the dink and dunk offense to eat time off, keeping the Rams off the field as much as possible. But the Rams will score on every drive, so by the second half, it will have made no sense
    ————–
I predict the O-line will open up, Donald and Suh will have a field day.
    ————
The Lions defense will probably open up for the Rams, probably not the offense though.
    ————–
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Suh take a liberty with Stafford. Stafford has not played against Suh.
    ————-
I don’t think it’d be wise for detroit to move away from the short passing game next week. Ndamukong Suh can’t wait for this game. Suh might kill stafford if cooter tries to open things up down field. Takes too long for those plays to develop.

Stafford needs help. Jones and johnson being out is a major handicap. Hopefully, at least one of them will be back sooner than later.
    ———–
With the Rams defense looking like it is, I’d run out 03 personnel most downs with all tight ends blocking and toss it deep to Golladay covered by Peters.
    ————
So glad we didn’t pick that Aaron Donald guy!

Not sure we’re he would have fit in our D!
    ————
All the other teams that passed on him probably wish that too. But drafts are drafts…you win some you lose some.
    ———–
The Rams were terrible with Donald from 14-16.

Unless we were going to hire Wade Phillips, I don’t think the D was going to be much more than it is today.
    ————
Obviously guys like Aaron Donald, Mack, JJ Watt were only good because they had a great secondary, top notch coordinators and hall of fame linebackers to compliment them.

How did I do, Stafford apologists??

Oh, you mean some players actually can make plays themselves and not need a supporting cast of all pros to become more than average?
    ————-
There were continuous rumors that Suh wanted out of Detroit and into a larger media market. Remember those consultations he had with Warren Buffett?

Some of us were pounding the table for Donald because we saw the foregoing. If the Lions had drafted Donald, then maybe Suh doesn’t have them over a barrel in negotiations. At a minimum, it would have created a different dynamic.
    ————
I saw exactly 0 topics mentioning Donald the week before the playoffs in 2014 when the DL was dominating the run game….and Aaron Donald was sitting at home on his couch, eating cheetoes.
    ———–
Where does Donald go in a redraft? Like…..before Greg freaking Robinson for sure.

I wonder if Aaron has ever just sat on a couch eating cheetos. I mean since he was 7.

I could see him lying on a couch sweating as he goes through a short-term workout addiction withdrawal.

He’s more likely to watch the game in the garage while methodically using the cars to do a makeshift overhead press.

The Rams are going to beat the s*** out of Detroit just like other teams

    ______________

Don’t think for a second that this team can’t put up 35/ week if they wanted to. THEY CAN!! It’s a choice on how they run this offense. I’m hoping now that our season is officially over that they choose to take the governor off of thIs offense and give the NFL what it wants. Maybe then we’ll get a few more calls our way.

    _____________

Not without KJ and Marvin Jones lol.

    _____________

How and the hell do u open up a offense with players we have. Our wrs dont get seperation and were miss our only good RB and the oline can only hold a block for 2 sec. This team isnt opening anything.

    _____________

I’m assuming (probably wrongfully) that they will both be back. Although I still think they can come out in several different formations without M.J and K.J and get this offense humming.

    _____________

This would normally be a game where you mortgage your house, call your bookie or head to Vegas and put everything on the over.

The Rams will do their part and shred our defense. But even on a porous secondary like the Rams’, the Lions won’t score. They can’t score on anybody. They couldn’t score when they had Tate-Jones-Golladay-Kerryon. (Excluding Stat Padford time, of course.)

Look for more of Stafford going fetal a second before the D-line gets to him.

    ______________

    Did we change OCs?

    ______________

Are you listening to your implication?

The Lions are 1-4 going back to Halloween.

Do you honestly believe they’re hiding parts of the playbook?

Are we that out of touch on just how bad this group is offensively?

    ______________

Rams will quickly go up 14-0 and it will be turtle mode.

    ____________

I realize that TE, RB, WR and OL don’t matter in Detroit and that the only difference between teams, really, is the QB, but….

Stafford will be lucky to see week 14.
