Marcus Peters diagnosed with calf strain, will get MRI
When Rams cornerbac Marcus Peters was injured in the first half of Sunday’s victory over the Chargers, word on the CBS broadcast was that he was being tested for an Achilles injury.
An Achilles tear would have ended Peters’ season, but that’s not the diagnosis. PFT has learned, via a league source, that tests on Peters’ Achilles were negative.
Peters has been diagnosed with a calf strain and will have an MRI to determine the extent of the injury.
The Rams also saw cornerback Aqib Talib depart with an ankle injury during the 35-23 win. PFT has learned that he has a sprain and will undergo further evaluation on Monday.
The Rams are on a short week as they face the
September 23, 2018 at 8:40 pm #91261znModeratorFinally up from #LARams locker room. McVay said both Talib/Peters have ankle injuries (I know, there’s been a lot of different things said about Peters’ injury, but that’s what we heard from McVay). Also returner JoJo Natson broke his hand and may require surgery.

Could be.
September 23, 2018 at 10:35 pm #91273nittany ramModeratorSomething else to keep an eye on… Play-by-play sheet says Andrew Whitworth left the game with an injury late in the fourth quarter. I'm told he came out for precaution, during the kneel-down plays. Joe Noteboom played at the end.

I think ideally they would get Talib back for week 5 and Peters is out for 3 games. Ideally. This is why they signed Shields. Hopefully Troy Hill shows up like 2017 Troy Hill and not the 2018 preseason version.
September 24, 2018 at 12:39 pm #91300znModeratorThe Rams are in tough shape this week. Andrew Whitworth had minor knee surgery Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters suffers ankle injuries. The Rams play the Vikings Thursday.

#Rams CB Marcus Peters is believed to have suffered a calf strain that could put him out for 2-4 weeks, I’m told. His MRI to confirm is this morning, but the initial tests show no structural damage.September 24, 2018 at 3:10 pm #91313znModeratorThat’s news to me fam!

Rams’ CB Aqib Talib suffered a high-ankle sprain Sunday that will sideline him at least one month, and Rams CB Marcus Peters strained his calf and is considered day to day, though with a Thursday night game this week, it will be tough for him to play, per league sources.September 24, 2018 at 8:30 pm #91330znModeratorJoe Curley@vcsjoecurley
McVay said that returner JoJo Natson had surgery today on his broken hand. Will miss this week, but has a chance to return for Week 5 at Seattle. Cooper Kupp and Blake Countess will handle punts and kickoffs in his stead.==

Dominique Easley questionable for Thursday with a knee injurySeptember 24, 2018 at 8:35 pm #91331znModeratorMyles Simmons@MylesASimmons
So on #LARams injuries: CB Aqib Talib has a more serious ankle injury that may require surgery. HC Mcvay said he will get a second opinion. CB Marcus Peters is more day-to-day with a calf injury and he has a chance to play on Thursday vs. Minnesota.September 24, 2018 at 8:38 pm #91333znModeratorRich Hammond @Rich_Hammond
Sean McVay indicated Cooper Kupp will handle punt returns and Blake Countess will handle kickoff returns this week. Natson could return for the Seattle game, McVay said. Dominique Easley (knee) is questionable for this week.Sean McVay remained hopeful that even if Aqib Talib does require ankle surgery, as seems likely, he might return before the end of the season. McVay said Rams would learn more tomorrow about Marcus Peters’ short-term status.

Surgery means this is the severest of high ankle sprains with ligament tear without associated fracture. Could easily mean season, chance of IR with late season return.September 24, 2018 at 9:24 pm #91338TSRFParticipantFuck! A pox on the Charger’s house…
I love good O, but REALLY love good D.
Gotta get our Talib back for the playoff push.

September 25, 2018 at 4:56 pm #91385wvParticipantvikings injury report:https://247sports.com/nfl/minnesota-vikings/Article/Vikings-Rams-Monday-injury-report-122466532/
“…Perhaps the most concerning of them is defensive end Everson Griffen, who was listed with both the knee injury that bothered him last week and had him designated as out on Friday against the Buffalo Bills and then the added concern of “not injury related.” Griffen didn’t attend Sunday’s game, prompting head coach Mike Zimmer to say that Griffen wasn’t there because of a “personal matter” and not expanding on the reason. Griffen was around the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center last week and usually injured players attend the games. He wasn’t seen in the locker room on Monday.
In addition to him not participating were running back Dalvin Cook (hamstring), left tackle Riley Reiff (foot) and cornerback/return man Marcus Sherels (ribs). Cook was in the locker room Monday and said there’s a “good chance” he could play on Thursday in Los Angeles but cautioned against returning too soon.
“It’s not a rush. We’re not in panic mode. This team, we’re still working every week. We’re still getting better,” he said. “There’s still a lot of things we’ve got to work on. The game just got out of hand. Everything fell right for them. We’ve just got to get a better start. That’s what today is for and tomorrow.”
The good news for the Vikings is that center Pat Elflein made his debut this season in Sunday’s game, playing in 22 snaps. He said he is ready for full-time duty if needed on Thursday, which could push Brett Jones to a reserve role or see him slide to guard. It’s also encouraging that Elflein’s shoulder injury is no longer part of the injury report…”
