A ways to go before we can officially call #Rams draft class a success, but some really good early signs. Coupled with last year’s draft it validates what gets said a lot: Sean McVay & staff do a great job conveying to Les Snead & staff exactly what they’re looking for in playersFYI on #Rams signing RB Larry Rose: with Justin Davis still dealing with a leg issue and key players sitting out final preseason game, #Rams needed to add some RB depth for Thursday’s game

Rams have brought RB Larry Rose back, team announces.Rose spent OTAs with the team after signing right after the draft. Guessing this means John Kelly likely sits Thursday. Nice opportunity for Rose to try to flash in preseason to make an argument for a practice squad place.

Austin Blythe remains on track to start at right guard for the Rams’ first two games, with Jamon Brown suspended. McVay said Blythe won’t play Thursday, and will sit with the starters.—

Back of the napkin math, but it appears the #LARams got 5 years of Woods and 6 years of Cooks for ~ the same guaranteed $$ as OBJ’s new 5-year ($65m)? That’s terrific value.==

Sean McVay will not play starters in a preseason finale on Thursday, including OLBs Matt Longacre and Dominique Easley. Longacre was limited through the preseason after returning from back surgery and Easley was recently taken off the PUP list after recovering from an ACL tear suffered last August. McVay said he anticipated that both would play a role this season.August 28, 2018 at 8:35 pm #89996

Sounds like Brandon Allen and Luis Perez will split the QB duties for the #LARams on Thursday.==
Lindsey Thiry@LindseyThiry
If Dominique Easley successfully transitions to OLB, the Rams starting defense will feature seven first-round picks. And five of the front-seven would be first rounders. 😳It’s closed to the media, but Rams practice today is a full-pads modified scrimmage. Officials also on the field.

In no way is playing 18 games better physically for the players. Are ppl actually buying that line? . If we move to 2 preseason games, starters will play more in those as well.August 28, 2018 at 11:46 pm #90016
ZooeyModeratorI don’t want 18 games. I was happy with 14. I am used to 16 now, but I oppose an increase. One of the beauties of football compared to other sports is how much each regular season game matters. They are diluting the product, to say nothing about two more weeks’ worth of injuries, and it does not improve the game. It only improves profit…and for how long?
I think it’s a mistake.

This is NOT about safety… it’s about money. 18 games equates to about $590,000 per player and about 31.25 million pet owner. Nothing more, nothing lessAugust 29, 2018 at 2:42 am #90020

#Titans have arguably NFL’s best CB trio with Jackson, Ryan and Butler.Chris Myers@The_ChrisMyers
I’d put the Rams with Talib,Peters, Shields,Robey-Coleman in that discussion—
Sam Shields‘ comeback attempt may clear a key barrier. The former Packers starter is on track to make the Rams‘ 53-man roster, Lindsay Thiry of ESPN.com writes. While he stands to be behind Los Angeles’ top three of Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters and Nickell Robey-Coleman, Shields making it back onto a roster would be a significant development considering how concussion issues nearly ended his career. The 30-year-old defender has not played since Week 1 of the 2016 season.

Jared Goff and Carson Wentz, taken 1-2 in the 2016 @NFL Draft, will be the only Week 1 starting QB (yes, Wentz is iffy) to go the entire preseason without taking a single snapAugust 29, 2018 at 3:53 am #90022

Sean Mannion remains the No. 2 to Jared Goff, and Rams coach Sean McVay says he’s OK with that==
Yeah, there’s absolutely no way this is true. https://t.co/3lE2Z4oPBA

“Things are heating up. … It could happen. … We’re very optimistic. Seriously. We are.” Those words from Sean McVay after Tuesday's practice sure sound like a deal between the Rams and star DT Aaron Donald is imminent.
