star studded defense. but this is the guy i keep thinking about. i really think this guy could be the x factor.

stud athlete. everything you look for physically. well maybe ideally you’d want him to be a little bit longer. arms are only 32.5 inches. 34 inches would be perfect.

but seriously. explosion. speed. agility. this guy brings all of it. it isn’t just good. it’s right there with the best. if this guy can put it all together. holy crap. this defense could be legit top 5. if he can’t, i don’t think this defense can be that good. no matter what the hype with all the big names. i don’t know that the immediate impact edge rusher in the draft. some developmental prospects. but no one who can come in right away.

can he get double digits sacks this season. with that dline he should get plenty of looks i would think.

Who do they draft with the first pick now?

    Oline? or Pass-rusher?

    …or WR ?

I keep saying this but it’s my schtick for the moment … so I keep saying it.

It’s rare in the extreme to find a rookie edge/DE/pass rusher who has an immediate impact. I looked at all defenders who got 8 sacks or more, and it was 30 in 2016 and 35 in 2017, and in both years there was only 1 rookie.

And, you can find pass rushers in rounds 3 and 4. And they are going to be just as developmental as anyone you take in round 1.

Last year they were 4th in sack percentage without a real rusher most of the year (Quinn got 3 sacks in his first 4 games) so whatever it was they did then they can do now. That and maybe Ebukam comes through.

Thanks for posting his data IR, if he works out, it’s obviously a good thing.

Well…they traded away their team leader in tackles. Ogletree had 95 combined solo and assisted tackles last year. So, obviously, without him, that’s 95 more TDs the Rams will give up on the season…unless someone steps up there.

Ebukam and Littleton are expected to be playing big roles for this team next year. I believe not only we traded Ogletree and Quinn for cap relief, but if Wade and the coached did not feel like they could play, and start, Tree, or Quinn would still be here.

seems like we have a lot of holes to fill. Maybe we should consider bringing Barwin back.

Well i hope a stud OLineman is there at 23.

…btw, i do remember Seattle drafting Bruce Irvin out of WVU as a pass-rusher in the first round, and he had a big impact in year one.

The Rams have said they want him back, and I don’t think there is any obstacle to that. If the Rams actually DO want him, they will get him. It’s not like Barwin is going to get a contract offer somewhere that the Rams just can’t match. He’s basically a JAG, and he has more value to the Rams than he does to any other team. If he signs elsewhere, it will only be because Wade doesn’t actually want him.
