They are considered the best team through out the NFL. In other words, the media believes, they have Philly in the Superbowl.
One thing we have to work on, and hopefully Wade and our Defensive coaches prepare for, and that is when the Eagles run, they are known for their trap blocking. Right now, Carson Wentz is looked as the favorite to win the MVP.
December 3, 2017 at 11:28 pm #78302JackPMillerParticipantIf somehow we can beat Philadelphia, then they would have lost two in a row, and we at the moment would have a first round bye.
December 4, 2017 at 6:18 pm #78358JackPMillerParticipantJust saw we are 2.5 favorites over Philadelphia. Shocked. I believe that will change at the end of the week.
December 4, 2017 at 6:37 pm #78359wvParticipantThey are not the best team, and i dont know anyone who thinks that. The Pats are the best team until somebody takes them down.
Eagles sure look good though. I’m expecting a battle of the titans. A hard-fought, hard-hitting, close game.

vDecember 4, 2017 at 10:31 pm #78378znModeratorAs a couple of different folks around the net have pointed out, McVay knows the Eagles defense. He was of course the Washington OC starting in 2014, though he didn’t call plays until 2016. That means he prepared for the Pederson Eagles and that defense (with Schwartz as the coordinator) in 2016.
In 2016, Washington v. Phil. –>
Washington wins at home 27-20. Washington gains 493 yards, including 230 rushing. Cousins has a qb rating of 85.8.
Washington wins in Phil 27-22. Washington gains 341 yards. Cousins has a qb rating of 116.0
Not saying that guarantees anything but he is familiar with them.
December 5, 2017 at 1:29 am #78384HerzogParticipantI’m betting he also paid close attention to what the Hawks did to stop them. Until the last game there was NO blueprint on how to stop that offense. At least now there is one.
December 5, 2017 at 9:29 am #78391PA RamParticipantI’m not kidding when I say the Rams should be working on their silent count. All the noise here is how the Eagles fans are going to turn the coliseum into the West Linc(Lincoln Field). The local radio personalities are going there to broadcast and they’re making a big deal of this. In any case there will be a LOT of Eagles fans in the stadium.
It won’t feel so much like a home field advantage. At best it will be like a neutral field. I say that because the Eagles and coaches keep saying how the crowd noise affected them in Seattle. That won’t be a problem here.
I don’t care what happened last year with Washington and Philly. That was Wentz’s rookie season. He’s playing like an MVP now. And their running game is deep and good.
I see the Eagles controlling the game.
The secret to stopping the Rams offense is to blitz Goff–or find a way to get relentless pressure–and stop Gurley. Look for Gurley on the quick checkdowns. I expect Goff to get hit a lot in this one and I think that will throw off his rhythm and accuracy. So look for turnovers.
I see a game where GZ will have to hit a lot of field goals to win it because I don’t think the Rams will find the endzone very often.
On defense–the Eagles would be nuts if they didn’t try to run the ball down the Rams throat. because if they do that–and I think they will–it will slow the Rams pressure on Wentz…and even if they get to Wentz–he creates some huge plays on the move.
If the Rams can’t find a way to get a good lead and take the Eagles out of their running game the Rams will have very little chance of winning this game.
Maybe the special teams will save them. They may have to.
I do not think the Rams will win this game. I’m not sure it will be close.
Eagles: 27
Rams: 13
By the way–McVay has said they are probably practicing the silent count. They will need it.

All true except for this…the point about McVay being Washington’s coordinator in 2016 is that he knows Schwartz’s Philly defense. That doesn’t guarantee anything but it is an interesting factor.
As for the Rams defense against that offense, either Phillips can get this crew to play them well or they don’t come through for him. Either way WP will have a plan and great offenses have been stopped before.
None of this is a prediction. I will tell you what happens after the 4th quarter clock goes to 0:00.

December 5, 2017 at 9:48 am #78393PA RamParticipantOn the humorous side:
The morning radio host has decided to wear his Lane Johnson jersey. He will be wearing the “Johnson” jersey, his wife will be wearing the “Cox” jersey and their producer will be wearing a “Smallwood” jersey.
Ahhhh….Philly fans. Nothing like them.

Philadelphia (10-2) at L.A. Rams (9-3), 4:25 p.m. ET (Fox): While I was eating some avocado toast over the weekend, I made a list of all the teams the Eagles have beaten this season that currently have a winning record.
Here’s the list: Carolina.
That’s it. That’s the entire list.
(I also made a list of the five best places to get avocado toast, but you’ll have to read my book, The Five Best Places to get Avocado Toast, if you want that kind of information. Also, that’s not an actual book yet, but it might be soon)
Anyway, I can’t stop thinking about the fact that the Eagles have only beaten one team with a winning record. Now, I’m not trying insult the Eagles, because 10 wins is 10 wins and it’s not like they get to make their own schedule, but I am saying that I can’t in good faith pick the Eagles to win a game against a good team, especially on the road and especially after what happened in Seattle on Sunday.
Also, Sean McVay was the offensive coordinator for a Redskins team that went 2-0 against the Eagles last season. Why does that matter, you ask? Because McVay is a millennial and millennial’s like avocado toast and that probably means he’ll buy my book. Also, it means McVay is familiar with how to exploit the Eagles’ defense, which is what I expect to happen.
The pick: Rams 30-27 over Eagles

Stop trying to get my hopes up. I am mentally trying to prepare for a tough loss so I do not spend the week in a total funk. This sort of wide-eyed optimism is cruel. Leave me to my dark pit of despair. Post only the negative articles. That’s what a real fan would do.

December 5, 2017 at 1:03 pm #78401canadaramParticipantI don’t think that the Rams can count on the offense alone to score enough points to win this game. I’ve said this before, but the Rams offense has not had a lot of success vs very good defenses. The offense didn’t put up a lot of points vs. Seattle, Minnesota or Jacksonville. Like in the Jacksonville game, it will take something extra from the defense and special teams to pull out a win over the Eagles. I am dubious about the Rams chances.

I cannot face the prospect of a loss, so you are going to have to just live with me insisting on a Rams’ victory from here out. I am not settling for a Wild Card this year. It is division title, or suicide for me. That’s the plan.
Now, the Rams can lose to the Eagles as long as they beat the Seahawks next week, but I think it’s better for my longterm life ambitions if the Rams win this week, and Seattle loses at St. Petersburg.
December 5, 2017 at 6:09 pm #78409ZooeyModerator“The Rams have the NFL’s fourth-hardest remaining schedule these last four weeks, according to the Elias Sports Bureau, which compiles the rankings based on opponents’ win percentages. The Seahawks are eighth, the Saints are 20th, the Eagles are 21st, and the Vikings are 24th.”

And…as my son points out…that INCLUDES THE 9ers!
Which probably makes the upcoming three game stretch the worst in football.

And the 49ers with Garrapolo may be a lot different than the 49ers without Garrapolo.

Rams vs Eagles is a matchup of the best two young QBs in this league, drafted 1 and 2 overall the same year, and it has implications not only for the playoffs but for the changing of the guard we are watching happen in real time.
It’s also going to be an amazing matchup of two teams that are extremely balanced. Could be anywhere from a barnburner to a defensive showdown.
Should be the best game thus far this season IMO.

Rams’ Alec Ogletree: Trending towards playing Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Ogletree (elbow) would not have practiced today had there been a regular padded practice but appears to be making good progress this week, Lindsey Thiry of the Los Angeles Times reports. The Rams had a light practice Wednesday which allowed Ogletree to take part in the team activities. While it would be nice to see him get a full padded practice in before Sunday’s contest, the team has noted a fair level of confidence in regards to his progression. We should have a better indication of Ogletree’s availability for Week 14 as the week moves closer to Sunday.

Rams’ Robert Woods: No timetable for return
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Head coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that Woods (shoulder) doesn’t have a precise timetable for a return, Lindsey Thiry of the Los Angeles Times reports.Last Thursday, McVay predicted Woods may be able to play Week 14, but Dec. 17 at Seattle was the more likely date for his next appearance. McVay seems to have changed his tune slightly regarding the Rams’ No. 1 wide receiver, who has yet to take part in practice since injuring his left shoulder Week 11. Furthering the narrative was Woods’ listing as a non-participant on Wednesday’s estimated injury report, per Rich Hammond of the Los Angeles Daily News. Ideally, Woods will get the all-clear at some point before the postseason begins, but it remains to be seen when he’ll reach 100 percent.
December 9, 2017 at 8:51 pm #78606JackPMillerParticipantI’m predicting we win this game. Rams 24- Eagles 20.
I feel this is a must win for us, not Philadelphia as much. Hopefully, my feeling is right, and we do win this one.
December 10, 2017 at 8:40 am #78623znModeratorWe honestly don’t know how good these 2 teams are. The Eagles DO have the more solid defense in terms of personnel (Rams got holes). And the Eagles have been in the same systems for 2 years. And the Eagles have homefield advantage.
So it’s a tough game.
And the Rams up for a tough game of this type or is it a year too soon yet?
December 10, 2017 at 8:49 am #78624InvaderRamModeratorAnd the Rams up for a tough game of this type or is it a year too soon yet?
before, the playoffs became a real possibility.
if they win this game, the superbowl becomes a real possibility for me.
of course. they have a huuuuuuuuuuuge game right after this in the seattle seahawks. those guys just won’t go away. russell wilson is playing out of his sane mind.
but win this game, and i have more confidence they can take out seattle next week (yes, even on the road). win out against tennessee and san francisco. and even perhaps make it all the way to the biggest game of all. against, yikes. maybe they’re biggest test of all? the pats with bill and tom?
i’m scared to even think it.
