There’s a site (TeamRankings.com) that gives you the option to look at just the last 3 games. Well of course with the Rams, that’s real. The defense changed (starting in the 2nd half of the Dallas game) and so there is a direct contrast between the 1st 3 games on defense and the last 3 games. So what I do here is list a bunch of stats with Rams rankings just for the last 3 games.
I do this 2 ways.
1st ranking is the Rams last 3 games v. everyone else’s last 3 games.
2nd ranking is the Rams last 3 games v. the league for the whole season so far (this is a kind of “what if” stat—where would they rank if they had been this way all season so far).
Of the 2 stats IMO the 2nd is the more indicative one.
Points per game: 1st/1st
Opponent redzone scoring percentage (TDs only): 4th/1st
Opponent yards per game: 4th/3rd
Opponent 3rd down conversion percentage: 10th/7th
Opponent completion percentage: 13th/6th
Opponent yards per pass attempt: 7th/2nd
Opponent average qb rating: 4th/2nd
Sack percentage: 3rd/3rd
Takeaways per game: 14th/9th
Opponent rushing yards per game: 7th/6th
Opponent yards per rush attempt: 19th/19th
