Well, you ‘can’ win in the NFL with a ‘decent’ QB, as the Titans and 49ers showed, and lots of teams have shown in the past.

But, man, is it a relief when your team has ‘the guy’ at QB.   The Chiefs, Bills, Chargers, Rams, Bengals (and as of today Packers and Seahawks) have ‘that guy’.

I dunno about Dak.   I have never quite figured out what he is, exactly.

It will be strange not to have Brady lurking anywhere in the NFL.

The official narrative is that there is no elite QB in the college class this year.

I bet that turns out to be wrong.

If the going rate for elite QBs is about 45 million a year (Rogers apparently wants 50 mill), then one wonders what Stafford will want after next year.

Wouldnt that be funny if Aaron Rogers and Russell Wilson

    left the NFC.

What a shame that would be.

Deals are in place. Packers allowed it. It has all happened quietly and behind the scenes. Rodgers simply has to make his decision.

Carson Wentz trade rendered invisible because of the Wilson and Rogers situations, but, as Cowherd noted, Wentz threw 27 TDs and 7 pix, last season.

    94.6 rating.

2017, he threw 33 TDs and 7 INTs.

    2019, he threw 27 TD’s and 7 INTs

2018 he threw 21 TDs and 7 INTs.   And had a 102 QB rating.

I dunno.  He’s got leadership issues, etc, but I think Washington got an upgrade at QB.    If I’m a Dallas fan, I’m a little more nervous about Washington.

Garappolo will be traded within the week,  I think, but nothing has leaked. I sure hope the 49ers screw it up.

You are saying, the Rams are going to be trading, John Wolford  for first round picks? 😆 😆 😆

I keep hearing this: “If you pay your QB more than 12.4 percent of your cap,

you dont win the super bowl”

The Falcons fielded trade calls the last few days centered around QB Matt Ryan, sources say. Today is a deadline to make a decision, as Ryan will earn a $7.5M roster bonus from ATL if he’s on the roster at 4 pm. It’ll be either a trade or back to ATL, possibly with a sweetener.

Matt Ryan is a good fit for Indy. Indy has the cap money, shouldn’t take more then a 2nd and 3rd this year and conditional 1st next year.

    Russell Wilson to Denver
    Deshaun Watson to Cleveland
    Matt Ryan to Indianapolis
The next QB trade is … ?

    Dan Orlovsky@danorlovsky7

So for Baker now its: Sea? Tenn? Car? N.O? All spots are competing for starting job (which likely bring out his best) or a backup role?

I like the Colts decision to get Matt Ryan.   His legacy would look so much different if the Falcons defense had held that 28-3 lead against the Pats.

The AFC is a circus now.   Looks like all these teams have a Legit

shot at a ring:  Every team in the AFC West.   Plus, Bills. Bengals. Ravens. Browns.  Titans. Colts.

    Maybe even Pats and Steelers.

Russell Wilson reportedly frustrated he didn’t have enough say in SEA offense. Won’t be case w/Broncos. Hackett on tailoring offense: “Once get to know him, understand him, we’ll build it around him. So what is it going to be? It’s going to be what Russell likes to do.” #9sports

When I first saw this headline, my gut reaction was…”The 49ers front office doesn’t have any enticing offers on the table, and are trying to tease one out.”

Now, the latest rumor is that the 9ers may be forced to cut Garappolo.

    ProFootballTalk says this:

Earlier today, we looked at what the 49ers will do with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. And here’s the reaction to the item was posted: the 49ers will have a hard time trading Garoppolo.

The problem arises from the full set of circumstances surrounding his situation. The biggest problem, as one league source explained it on Saturday, is the shoulder surgery Garoppolo underwent earlier this month. No one will trade for a quarterback with a $25 million compensation package after he underwent surgery to repair the labrum in his throwing shoulder, the source explained.

Throw in the fact that Garoppolo had the surgery without consulting with the 49ers, and it makes every team that otherwise would be interested in Garoppolo very leery.

Unless Garoppolo is willing to do a new contract as part of a trade (and why would he be?), a trade isn’t happened. The most likely result, the source predicted, is that the 49ers will have to cut him.

With none of Garoppolo’s salary becoming guaranteed until the eve of Week One, the 49ers can wait it out. But they won’t get cap relief without cutting him. And because he’s in the last year of his contract, cutting him would leave behind only $1.4 million in dead money — and it would instantly create more than $25 million in cap space.

So they may get nothing for Garoppolo other than cap relief. It’s a considerable amount of cap relief, but no assets from another team.

I was hoping those weasels werent gonna get two more 2nd rounders.

Besides, I question Garoppolo’s ability to be the Face of a franchise.

Far as I know, he doesnt even have a single sexual harassment

    case pending.

I’d like to see Goff and the Lions make the playoffs this year.

I’d also like to see Aaron Rogers and the Packers fall on

    their faces.

URL = Jim Irsay: It was “very obvious” Colts had to move on from Carson Wentz – ProFootballTalk (nbcsports.com)

“It’s just, for us, it was just it was something that we had to move away from as a franchise — it was very obvious,” Irsay said of the Wentz trade, via Zak Keefer of TheAthletic.com.

Irsay said the Colts explored everything in finding a new franchise quarterback, but it was clear that there was not going to be a Year 2 for Wentz in Indianapolis.

I think the DC Commander McBraggs scored big time with Wentz…. as you pointed out… 27 TD’s  7 INTS, 94.6 rating 62% completion rate….
