DeSean Jackson
If this were the same Jackson that took the NFL by storm, it would be a different conversation, but he’s not and it’s not. Jackson’s return to the Eagles was unceremonious and wholly derailed by injury, something that’s plagued him wildly in recent seasons. Jackson was available for only eight games over the last two seasons combined, and grabbed just 395 receiving yards and three touchdowns when on the field during that time. Once also a dynamic returner, that’s no longer on the table for a 34-year-old that had only two return yards in 2020. The L.A. kid returning home is definitely a romantic headline, but there’s a reason the Rams only gave him a one-year deal and if he gets injured and/or doesn’t show up and show out, he’ll be shown the door.
July 6, 2021 at 10:59 am #130761znModeratorfrom Ranking the NFL’s top 10 interior defensive linemen for 2021: Execs, coaches, players make their picks
Going to try and access what they say about Donald here but it’s espn insider. So far I have a bit from it.
from https://theramswire.usatoday.com/2021/07/06/rams-nfl-aaron-donald-interior-defender-vote-poll/
ESPN surveyed more than 50 NFL executives, coaches, scouts and players to rank the 10 best players at each position and unsurprisingly, Donald was the top interior defender once again. Itâs the second year in a row Donald has received more first-place votes than every player in the NFL regardless of position.
However, one voter ranked him as low as fourth at his position, meaning that person believes there are three interior defenders better than Donald. The Steelersâ Stephon Tuitt was the only other player to earn a first-place vote, likely from that same voter who put Donald fourth.
Yes, someone voted Donald fourth. That particular voter prioritized youth and upside. But Donald has shown zero signs of slowing down at age 30. His 24.2% pass-rush win rate leads all defensive tackles by a wide margin, and thatâs with facing a double-team on 219 of his 314 rushes, the most in the league. Donald created 30 incompletions, second to edge rusher T.J. Watt.
âYouâre not stopping him,â an NFC exec said. â[You] just hope to get the ball out fast.â

Jourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
This really could have been a few different rising Rams players, but I selected DL Sebastian Joseph-Day with the understanding that he – already a really good run defender – has added to his pass-rush arsenal this spring and summer. https://theathletic.com/2470407/2021/03/25/rams-d-linemen-hope-working-with-this-independent-coach-in-the-offseason-turns-into-sacks-and-big-paydays/?source=emp_shared_articleJuly 6, 2021 at 1:40 pm #130766znModeratorI want football back pic.twitter.com/Ma0mWajREl

Whitworth says thatâs one area where the Rams have to get better after failing to capitalize on scoring opportunities the last two years.
He was on the PFF NFL Podcast and explained that the Rams must get better in scoring situations.
âYou really look at the last couple of years, I donât know if slowing down is the word that I look for when I try to describe it as much as I donât think weâve been as successful in the red zone and maybe in scoring opportunities as we were the first couple years,â Whitworth said. âWeâve seemed to move the ball well on people, weâve seemed to have good drives and then for whatever reason, we havenât really put it in the way we did.â

July 10, 2021 at 8:30 pm #130817znModeratorFor the last 3 seasons, Robert Woods 427 rushing yards (and 4 TDs) is the most of any WR in the league
I’ve said this before in the chat room. But more than any Rams receiver I can remember and even more than most NFL receivers across the years, Woods runs like a running back.
I don’t mean the he has the fancy elusiveness (like Akers) or that he is tough at the point of contact, or any other running back characteristic that involves sheer physical ability.
I mean that he has vision and sees lanes and moves like a running back. It’s just in him, you can see it, both on the jet sweeps and WR screens plus also as a downfield receiver after the catch.
If he were a running back he would have good vision and otherwise be pretty vanilla. As a receiver, though, it’s a plus–not many receivers see the field like a back when the ball is in their hands.
