I will probably jump in later.

The only point I want to make right away is, they should have gone for the Faulk trade. What a difference that might have made.

The defense made this a fun season for me. Special Teams was broke. imo The offense was ok, if slightly broken. Goff is ok. I am not here to kick him off the bus, but I want a better QB. I know some like him and some hate him. I am in the middle looking for an upgrade.
    .
I am not worried about the Salary Cap. I think we can even keep Floyd if that is what we want.
    .
I think McVay needs to give up play calling. That is not going happen. Is it? LOL
    .
And, I probably like the Oline better than most.
    .
I think, although they had some real stinker games, they out performed expectations.

    defense. amazing. so much fun.

on goff. he’s average to above average. the green bay game did nothing to dissuade me from that. i listened to the podcasts and analysis of goff’s game, and i pretty much agree. he’s not going to offer the rams anything beyond what he’s already shown. he needs everything around him to be in order. but when it is. he can be real good.

mcvay is probably wondering to himself if that is something he can live with. but finding an upgrade will be hard. it would be a career defining move for sean if attempts to pull it off. but it won’t be this offseason.

also. lastly. i liked watching cam akers. i hope he can stay healthy next year. love his running style. patient but explosive. and he’s tough. i hope he sticks around for awhile.

Unless Jared Goff turns into Tom Brady, Deshaun Watson, or Patrick Mahomes, he will never be a Super Bowl winning QB. The only way that Goff does win a Super Bowl, is we have a superior defense that shuts out everyone. I believe after next year, we should consider moving on from Goff, and get franchise QB. Yeah, I’ll give him one more season.

The Rams exceeded my preseason expectations, so that was a positive. I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed watching a Rams defense as much as the 2020 D. Maybe when Aeneas Williams and Leonard Little were healthy. Again, another positive. The inconsistency of the offense was frustrating, and it seems like changes will be needed or else nothing will get better. Not sure how they address the holes on the offensive line and at WR with such limited cap space though. Not that the WR position is a wasteland, or anything like that, but it seems to be lacking true speed, or a guy who forces a defense to really worry.

Anyway, any season that ends with the Rams in the playoffs is enjoyable for me.

    ADDENDUM
Since the rebrand was a part of the new season, I will add that my hatred of the new uniforms never abated. This was a definite negative for my 2020 Rams season experience.

I dunno. I always had this nagging concern
that McVay was doing it with smoke and mirrors on offense.
They would have good games, but it just seemed a little,
i dunno…gimmicky or something on offense. Like he
was doing all this very effective dinking, dunking, roll-outs,
screens, etc. But it just seemed like he was doing it
BECAUSE there was a weakness he was trying to cover.

And then late in the season, i think it was Orlovsky?
or one of those guys, said something similar.

But i dunno. If it was a personnel weakness on the Oline,
    maybe its fixable.

It was a team that stomped the Patriots, and
turned around and got stomped by the Jets.
A team that twice just got beat-down by
    a tough-but-losing team — the 49ers.
A team that took 2 out of 3 from Seattle.

They were exactly what i think of
when i think of a 10=6 Wildcard team.

but if donald, kupp, and goff are healthy i can’t help but wonder how far this team could have gotten.

    I don’t know.

The Rams were a good team this year, very good in some respects, but some days they just inexplicably did not play up to their ability. One way or another.

They lost twice to SF, lost to the NY Jets after a 10-day layoff, and the defense failed against the Packers. The path to the Super Bowl required 3 straight good games on the road against good teams. After the Jets and Seahawks losses, there was no real reason to think the Rams had a shot at pulling that feat off, especially with the Health wheels coming off at the end of the season.

It was a good season, enjoyable mostly for the defense and memorable for the early circus at PK. Certainly it was more entertaining than most seasons over the past 30 years.

2020 was a lousy year for everyone and I’m grateful that most major sports brought some type of normalcy to my life. I didn’t realize how much I missed listening to a baseball game on the radio until this past summer……….. but of all the major sports, the NFL and the Rams gave me a much needed routine to my life on Sundays…… the Rams 10 win wasn’t the best icing on the cake, but at least it was some icing and not a 6-10 season that most people predicted….

After the win in TB, I thought the Rams might go all the way or at least make it to the conference championship…

Special teams, especially punt coverage and punt returns sucked.

Although the defense was great, I don’t think it was elite.

Rams offense was OK, ALL NFL QBs have off years, I’ll take 10 wins with a QB that many believe had a bad year, sometimes that happens when your left tackle misses 5-6 games…

in addition I think Goff got too much criticism….but I think that’s the nature of the current COVID and political trash climate to post bullshit on social media boards…most of these losers are just craving attention……that is not directed to anyone here…
