Sean McVay says rookie OLB Terrell Lewis will be placed on the non-football injury list because of his knee issue. McVay says it’s “as positive as can be given the circumstances.”

So a clarification: Lewis is only out 3 weeks rather than 6 like Robinson, because he was on the 53-man roster to start the year.
Because Lewis had an actual procedure – I would speculate a scope – and the team picked up Justin Hollins, there is no real reason to rush him back with a 3-week IR designation, especially with his long-term future in mind. NFI makes a lot of sense here.
Re-upping terminology this year. NFI – Six weeks, then return to practice. Minor injured reserve: Can come off after three weeks Actual injured reserve: 8 games
#LARams transactions: * Placed OLB Terrell Lewis on Reserve/NFI list * Signed RB Raymond Calais to 53-man roster * Signed DB J.R. Reed to practice squad
Some additional clarification on this: Because Lewis landed on the NFI list during the season, he is actually eligible to return as early as Week 4 instead of Week 7. So he will miss at least the first 3 weeks instead. https://t.co/AifdoTrWki
ok. so they did a procedure because they thought there might be an infection. it turns out there was no infection but there was some atrophy of the knee due to the procedure. thus the need to shut him down.
