ZooeyModeratorDo you know what I mean about them always seeming to be up for games and playing hard regardless of personnel? I am not sure McVay has that knack with a team yet the way Shanahan does.
Yes, I do. It’s my impression as well. But I don’t watch the 9ers enough to give me confidence to go on a 9ers board and assert that as a truth about the 9ers.
ZooeyModerator49ers may have Sherman back as well. Not telling what he has at this point, but he would be an addition to an already good secondary. The 9ers are among the best against both the rush and the pass, so they can frustrate the Rams (as they have done in the past). This game is no gimme, though it’s hard to imagine the 9ers putting up much offense against the Rams, either.
They had an extra week to prepare and recover, and their backs are against the wall. They have 6 losses right now, and can still tell themselves they have something to play for. A loss to the Rams basically finishes them, as it means their only path to the playoffs comes through other teams collapsing.
This is a talented team with a very good head coach.
I think a win here by the Rams will be underappreciated by the national media, and a loss overblown. The Rams should win this game, but – (I’m not a betting guy and don’t follow the spreads and such) – if I had to put money on this game, I would hate to give up seven points in order to bet on the Rams. I think the final score will be closer than that.
ZooeyModeratorI hope that when Covid leaves us, it takes the phrase “abundance of caution” with it.
ZooeyModeratorHappy Thanksgiving.
ZooeyModeratorThat guy went way too deep on the fake punt.

ZooeyModeratorWell…damn.
Humans.
I thought of all people you would appreciate this group.
I did appreciate it. Stuff like that makes me wonder how some humans can do such terrible sociopathic things, and then other humans do THAT. The creativity and effort some people exercise can be impressive.
ZooeyModeratorI just think its who McVay is. I think the media thinks of him as a gunslinger but he’s not. He just seems like a very sound offensive mind, but he’s not like Don Coryell or somethin. Run the ball. Short passes. Lots of quick screens. Focus on execution.
Plus i think he knows Goff’s weaknesses and he is not about to risk strip-sacks.
He’d rather trust the Defense, with Donald, Ramsey and company. At some point, down the road, in the playoffs, in the fourth quarter, on third and long, the game will be in Goff’s hands. We’ll see what happens.
w
vYeah, I think it’s an adjustment. I think he would be happy to throw deep a couple of times a game, but 1) they don’t have a traditional deep threat WR. They’re all footwork guys with precise routes and good hands. 2) the dirtier Goff’s jersey, the less effective he is. He’s not Kurt Warner. So McVay does what works. And this works.
ZooeyModeratorWell…damn.

ZooeyModeratorlove watching this defense.
but mcvay has to stay aggressive. i know he trusts the defense. but he can’t keep putting them in bad situations. there was a point where the rams could have put this game away, and they literally almost gave it away.
rams are 5th in total offense but only 17th in scoring. are they just not finishing drives?
Yes, that’s the main area of concern for me, too. Not finishing. I can’t put a finger on it, but they don’t seem as potent offensively as I expected them to be with the healthy, maturing OL.
However, the Rams seem to be improving. And their defense will keep them in games.
ZooeyModeratorHad the upper hand throughout the game.
Didn’t crush them, but were on top the whole time. I will take that.
Good win against a good team, on the road.
ZooeyModeratorOn my drive to the hardware store this morning, a guy on NPR, who is a political expert, was explaining that the problem with young people is that social media for some reason invites political extremism, and that’s why youngsters are in favor of medicare for all.
ZooeyModeratorI like that little clip of Ramsey giving Metcalf an embrace. Metcalf isn’t enthusiastic.
More shellshocked, really.
ZooeyModerator11 fractured ribs.
Good lord.
ZooeyModerator
ZooeyModeratorI am taking the under on this game.
I think this stacks up to be pretty even, and a good, close game, assuming turnovers balance out.
What I don’t like is the Rams’ placekicker, whoever that is this week.
ZooeyModeratorYes! Lake Superior is beautiful! Glad to have more of it for ourselves.
Any way I can interest you in the rest of the states?
ZooeyModeratorSo Skip Bayless’ position is that Brady has turned the ball over a bunch recently, so he’s sick of that, and he will come in to this game resolved to not let that happen this time. Meanwhile, the last time Goff played in Florida, he turned over the ball a lot, so that’s bound to happen again since this game will be played in Florida, too.
I want that guy’s job.
Seriously, these guys just get on TV, and fight each other based on some scripted talking points ahead of time. There is no actual football insight. I hate this crap. (No offense).

ZooeyModeratorTrump has always been the Blanche DuBois of politics.
I did not see that comparison coming.
I read a couple of comments. Trump supporters telling Ed that acting obviously requires no critical thinking skills, and so on, and all basically suggesting that the simple reason Trump is doing this is that he is RIGHT, there was rampant cheating, and he’s fighting to defend America.

ZooeyModeratorI think Edward Norton has it right, actually.
I’m no political pundit but I grew up w a dad who was a federal prosecutor & he taught me a lot & I’ve also sat a fair amount of poker w serious players & l’ll say this: I do not think Trump is trying to ‘make his base happy’ or ‘laying the groundwork for his own network’…

ZooeyModeratorYeah, seems like a AZ loss is better. The Rams have a game in hand against Seattle, and seem to have their number.
