“[T]he Rams already acknowledged the need to lighten (Gurley’s) load. … By draft night, the Rams were sure they’d found their guy (Darrell Henderson). …They even considered pouncing with the 45th overall pick to make sure another team wouldn’t swoop in.”

from PFF’s top 25 NFL players under 25 for 2019

    https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-pffs-top-25-nfl-players-under-25-for-2019

QB JARED GOFF, LOS ANGELES RAMS
AGE AT KICKOFF: 24 YEARS, 10 MONTHS, 24 DAYS
After a disappointing rookie year with Jeff Fisher at the helm, the former No. 1 overall pick has blossomed in the subsequent years with Sean McVay. His 2018 season was his best year to date; he ended the regular season with an 85.5 overall grade, and he finished eighth in the NFL in clean-pocket big-time throw percentage (5.45%) on the year.

No Group of 5 TE had more receiving conversions than new Jaguars TE Josh Oliver did in 2018

    PFF LA Rams@PFF_Rams
#Rams Keenen Brown ranked 3rd in Group of 5 TEs (@kb_smoove6) in terms of receiving conversions last season, achieving 27 conversions in 2018

#Rams UDFA Romello Brooker ranked 4th as well

    Eagles waived QB Luis Perez.
Signed last month, Perez made his case for a roster spot with the Birmingham Iron of the AAF this spring. He was replaced on the roster by Cody Kessler, who has a much better shot to earn the backup job than Perez ever did. It is possible Perez shows up again as a camp arm.

Take away his rookie year and Jared Goff has a career passer rating of 100.8

    👍 And still Jared’s current 94.7 is top 10.

If they had deployed the scorpions as you suggest, Darnerys and Drogo would be dead, the relatively benevolent Cercei would still be queen, and about 8 or 9 hundred thousand innocent people would still be alive.

    Fair enough.

This story was always a tragedy.

I think it’s a comedy of errors about incompetent military tactics. For example if you are going to defend a walled city against dragons by relying on “scorpion” ballistas, then, don’t just put them on the walls where they can be attacked from behind from the air. Put some on high points inside the city in groups of 4 facing every direction.

See I knew that. Why didn’t they know that.

Have to say there was a lot of expected action.

By any chance do you mean UNexpected there? Let me know, that’s a quick n easy edit.

Peter King, The 2019 NFL Power Rankings, Taking Stock of Offseason Movement

    4. *LOS ANGELES RAMS (15-4)

The Rams will be good; we know that. But good enough to stave off the Niners and Seahawks in the West? Good enough to play deep into January? You might wonder about Todd Gurley’s future, because of the weird usage pattern in 2018 (first 12 games: 19.4 carries per game; last five games: 10.6 carries) that hinted at a bum knee. I’m not that concerned about Gurley, or the running game, because Sean McVay will figure it out. I’m more concerned with what the heck happened to Marcus Peters last year, and whether in a pass-happy NFC West the Peters-Aqib Talib combo platter can be the top cornerback group in the division like the Rams planned. Peters, per Pro Football Focus, was the league’s 11th-rated corner in 2016 and 18th-rated corner in 2017 … and in 2018, his first year in L.A., he plummeted to 91st, allowing a garish 118.9 rating in balls that targeted him. Peters did play better after recovering from an early-season calf injury, so there’s hope that, if healthy, he can get back to 2017 form. He’ll need to for the Rams to be as good as fourth in the league.

The main reason experts thought Gaines would go lower is because of his size. He is undersized standing at 6’1″ but really that doesn’t matter as much as you might think. All things considered, Gaines is slightly taller than Aaron Donald. Now, I’m not saying they are equal talents, but I am saying is that he can still have a successful career. What is beneficial for Gaines is that he can learn from Donald and Wade Phillips.

WHAT EXACTLY DO THEY HAVE IN GAINES?

They have a relentless defender with a high motor. He keeps his feet moving and commands a lot of attention from offensive linemen. That’s exactly the type of player defenses desire to create more opportunities for linebackers. Gaines is a true nose tackle and if he continues to learn, the Rams definitely might have a steal. Keep this in mind, if Gaines pans out to the disruptive interior defensive lineman that he can potentially be, the Rams’ defensive line is going to be scarier.

This isn’t to say that Gaines will step in Week 1 and dominate. Gaines will have to learn how to adjust at the NFL level, and that isn’t easy.

In half as many snaps in 2018, Everett outperformed his colleague Tyler Higbee in receiving, and looks to further improve as a key blocker for the #Rams moving forward

One theory I have heard is that in the rough waters, it was possible that both the bow and the stern could have been raised by the crests of huge storm waves, and in that case the ship was so heavy with ore that when the middle of the hull was suspended over a deep trough it would have just snapped in half.
