    WTF?    Who saw ‘that’ coming?

My goodness.  Hill was one of the reasons Ive been picking the Chiefs to win

the Ring for the last 3 years.   Wow.   They just aint as scary without him.

I like the Colts decision to get Matt Ryan.   His legacy would look so much different if the Falcons defense had held that 28-3 lead against the Pats.

The AFC is a circus now.   Looks like all these teams have a Legit

shot at a ring:  Every team in the AFC West.   Plus, Bills. Bengals. Ravens. Browns.  Titans. Colts.

    Maybe even Pats and Steelers.

I think the media has now fully come to terms with the fact that they are the propaganda department. Media used to see itself as independent investigators, reporting the Truth. From time-to-time, they collaborated with Power to shape an “important” narrative, but still saw themselves as basically independent. That has eroded over time so much that I think now that no longer lie to themselves about that. They know their function is to spin stories, and it’s openly accepted. They don’t fool themselves into thinking they report objective reality. They weave it, and they know that’s what they do.

There’s probably a mix of things going on.   And some of the media is probably as you say — just outright, conscious propagandists.

But among ‘that’ group, most probably think they are ‘doing the right thing’, ie, ‘we are the good guys’, the CIA is battling evil, etc etc.

I would imagine they have internalized all the ‘proper’ narratives, that were successfully poured into their heads.

Which of course, raises the topic of the ‘how’ of it all.  How do these narratives get poured into so many ‘educated’ peoples’ heads….

Just heard about the trade today.   Makes perfect sense to me.

1.) I think Robinson is probably a tad better player for what the Rams/Stafford now want to do.   And he’s not coming off an ACL and he’s a year younger.

2.) The cap is the cap.

3.)  The 6th rounder just tells me, they loved Woods.  I doubt there’s anybody else they would do that for except the team captain and beloved-ram: Robert Woods.   I also think they wanted him in the AFC.  Definitely not on Green Bay.

4.) We all love Woods.  I certainly do. He became an ALL-TIME fave in a short time.  But give me a straight up choice between Robinson and Woods — I think I go with Robinson.   Its close, though.   And who knows how it will turn out.

I had not even heard of him, until about a week ago, when all the

talking-heads on a video absolutely raved about him.   They pointed out that he has never had a decent QB throwing to him.   Apparently, one narrative is: he’s another Stafford.   A topnotch player trapped on a bad team.

Basically, about 17 million a year or so, for Von.   Makes the Bills the favorites in the AFC as far as I’m concerned.

Yeah, last time they had a draft that looked like that, this was all they could muster up out of it.

    ===========

That was an A-plus job by Snead and his personnel guys, but

I am skeptical that that kind of result can be duplicated.   I dunno.

I remember when Bobby Beathard was a personnel genius…and then he wasn’t.

total, the Rams have one third-rounder, one fourth-rounder, one fifth-rounder, three sixth-rounders and two picks in the seventh round.

    =======

    3, 4, 5, 6(2), 7(2)  — 7 total picks.

This will be the Rams weakest draft in many years, I assume.  Barring some

    miraculous drafting.

The Price for all the successful wheeling and dealing really kicks in this year,

    I guess.

Same. I was discussing this with my son on Sunday…..

….Tank Man was amazingly brave. How long did he delay the inevitable, though?

You can’t change it by voting, and it can’t be changed by direct action either. Fossil fuels, banks, militaries, media, and the CIA (et al) are gonna do their thing.

The choice seems to be between being a martyr (which seems pointless), or just pick up a hobby to pursue until civilization goes over a cliff.

Same.     I’m into planting native-plant seeds.   Thats its.  Thats all i got.

As far as coping-with/embracing  the End of the Biosphere, These vids dont always resonate with me, but sometimes parts of them do. Dunno if you’ve watched any of the ‘post doom’ interviews.

PS.   I dunno about Tank Man.  There’s more than one narrative

on ‘that’ one, too.   Dissidentvoice has an article, for example.

Only one 3rd round pick. We gave the Broncos, are 2nd & 3rd round picks in this draft, for Von Miller. We don’t start picking, until our 3rd round comp pick, which is near the end of the 3rd round.

All the usual power-blocs trying to control the narratives.

…as an aside, I have come to call this the ‘post-modern-condition.’   Just my own term, i use inside my own head.   Its the condition “I” feel because I can no longer trust 99 percent of the ‘info’ that I am assaulted with each day.

I have no idea how much of this Jacobin article is ‘true’.

So, I am left with what?   Well, I still trust my ‘big picture’ ideas.  For example Capitalism is destroying the biosphere.  Capitalism is a sophisticated Lie-machine.   Nation-States operate like Gangster states.     Etc.

I trust my ‘big picture’ notions (mostly.  always open to modifications).

But I do ‘not’ trust the more ‘granular’ info or specifics about ‘what is going on’ especially in real time.

‘post-modern-conditon’.   An unsatisfying state of mind.  For me.  Always skeptical about the granular ‘info’ and narratives.

critical-and-well-executed-plays that, I could spend the rest of my life

just shaking my head about them.

Here’s one, that was both critical and amazingly-well-executed by everyone involved.   Look at the execution, the blocking:
