Almost as much as when they got rid of Chris Massey in 2011, after he “made clean snaps on 702 out of 703 attempts including a run of 528 consecutive clean snaps.”

Massey was great up until he hurt his hand and then refused to wear a glove. That’s why his final 175 snaps were far from perfect.

As i recall, you were leading the “massey is a figurehead” chorus.

At least now you concede, without massey, Bulger would have been nothing.

How much cap room would the Rams have if they got rid of everybody? Probably a lot.

Yeah, probly a lot.   Almost as much as when they got rid of Chris Massey in 2011,

after he “made clean snaps on 702 out of 703 attempts including a run of 528 consecutive clean snaps.”

They guy was so productive in Chicago.   Major disappointment in LA.    I have not heard any scoops on just what the f happened with him.

I love the connection tween stafford and kupp.   Its a rare thing.

As long as stafford is playing, i would never trade kupp.   They are more like one thing to me: stafford-kupp.

Not time for a complete overhaul, imho.   Try and draft well, and see what the Oline really is, and reassess after this season.

Daniel Snyder.  What a complete disaster that man is.   I mean it is really hard to stand out as a weasel among all those other owner-weasels.   But he has managed it.

No ring without Odell.   Good team-mate, it seemed.   Turned his career around, and made the Rams offense good enough to win the Ring.

I’m not sure the Rams have ‘ever’ had a reporter as good as Rodrigue. I cant think of one that was better. w v

I feel exactly the same way. She’s a treasure. She brings her own wit and charm to her writing. In fact as a writer-per-se, strictly speaking, she has real gifts and an ear and a feel–she has chops. But at the same time she’s an actual real football geek. She has a flaw, though IMO it’s minor. She’s a bit of an access journalist, so tends to mirror inside perceptions sometimes instead of exposing them. On the entire Goff situation in 2020, for example, she tended to just portray it as Goff “not taking the next step.” Thirry, of all people (who no longer covers the Rams) decided to phone around to all the former offensive coaches who had been with the McVay Rams, and ask them about it. As a result she painted a much different picture of that situation than Rodrigue did, one I think that was much more illuminating. But no writer is perfect and sometimes exactly what we want is a picture of what the insiders are thinking (like now). Plus Rodrigue is an invested, enthusiastic communicator who actually uses twitter to very good effect. As a writer, she often has a way of saying “this is how it looks to me” and you just know as a dedicated Rams fan that how it looks to her has real meat to it, it’s not just impressions, it’s insights. And again no writer on the Rams has ever had the kind of absolutely geeked-out football knowledge she does. She’s a real student of the game, and a very advanced one. That she seems grounded, decent, and amiable as a person just adds to it all.

    yup

“…The Rams are not looking at 2023 as a year that they can contend for a championship, as opposed to the previous five seasons…”  J.Rodrigue

I think this was true with or without Ramsey.

It will be fun to see what McSnead can do with this team next year, and of course

    the year after that.

They need a lot of good personnel decisions and they need a healthy OLine.

I will be here to state the obvious all week.

I would think Stafford had to ok this kind of thing.

Didnt seem like the two ever formed any kind of on-field-bond.

Interesting.    Do they ‘have’ to trade him for cap-relief?    I would think not, but I dunno.

They’d have to get a lot in return for him, for it to make any sense to me, unless they just have to for cap reasons.

I’m fine with it.   I think its classy, and gaining a classy-rep may reap benefits down the road.

They were not gonna win a ring next year, with or without Wagner.   But they can still be a playoff team.

They need a couple more weapons on offense, a pass-rusher, and they need to pray they have what they need on the OLine.

First thing i would do is Not have any key injuries.

2nd, I’d sign one of the 49ers coaches so McVay can figure out exactly why the 49ers own the Rams.

3rd, I’d accept the fact they probly cant be an ‘elite’ team next year, but they can be a ‘good’ team and make the playoffs.  Not enough cap space to make this a team that could compete with the Chiefs, etc.

The switch from Robert Woods to Robinson turned out pretty bad.

    Losing OBJ was real bad

    The RB’s are not scary.

I dunno how they are gonna do it, but they need two more scary-weapons, imho, if they are gonna make another run at a Ring.

I know the offense can be ‘good’ without two more scary-weapons, but it aint gonna be good ‘enough’ to compete with teams like the Chiefs, etc.

And of course they need some sort of ‘answer’ to the problem of the Shannahan-49ers.

I dunno if its a different gameplan or personnel or what.

Yeah, the ‘why didnt socialism grow in the US?’ question has a three-part answer, it would seem:

    1.  The massive violent suppression by the powers-that-still-be.
    2.  Massive, never-ending, 24/7, birth-to-death, pro-capitalist propaganda.
    3.  Capitalism itself causes citizens to have little time/energy for study.

Looks like the two best teams got in.   Usually i root for the team that hasnt won a Ring in a while, but both these teams have won in the last decade.   I dunno.   Just cant find a reason to root even mildly for either team.

Strange two years for the Rams.   Last year and this year.

Bengals vs Chiefs: What a terrible way to end a playoff game.

I like the way the rams did it against the saints.  Now THAT is the way to end a championship game.

Bengals were awfully impressive against the Bills.   They just beat the Bills up.   Are the Bengals the most physical team in the NFL now?

I dont like the Eagles.  I am not sure I am rooting for the Eagles against SF.

I dunno.    SF vs Cincy or KC seems like an entertaining Super Bowl.

I think I’d like to see the Bengals win it all.

I dunno if they can upgrade, but Kupp needs some help.

    Nfl-celeb-media-heads never emphasize this:

    ==

“You know all that next-man-up stuff? That’s just coach-speak,” said Steve Mariucci, former coach of San Francisco and Detroit, speaking generally about losing star players. “That’s like false bravado sometimes. The next man up isn’t as good as the guy he follows, OK? That’s the reality of it. When you’ve got a lot of next-men-up, you’re going to get your butt kicked. Let’s face it. Let’s talk real here.”

    ==

I have often wondered why?  Why do they consciously avoid talking about injuries and their impact?    I mean it is sooo obvious its a media policy.

Maybe the  NFL-suits just dont like the idea of talking about negatives like injuries.

Whatever it is, its a media-policy.   Do not talk about injuries, do not blame losses on injuries.    Maybe its a capitalism thing.   “Dont play the victim”   I dunno.
