wvParticipantSorry, but I’m excited. I thought they looked better than they have in a decade.
wvParticipantYeah, BT, I was expecting the corporate-internet to drift in this direction. I’ve been kinda surprised it hasnt gotten worse much sooner than this.
The thing is, for hard-core political left-junkies like ‘us,’ it doesnt matter all that much that google buries lefty sites — cause we know where they are and we know how to find stuff like that.
But what hurts is the young people who are just beginning to explore politics — they wont be able to find lefty ideas as easily anymore.
And so it goes. Life in the corporotacracy…
w
v
wvParticipantWell thats interesting.
I think it would definitely affect decisions at the high school level and lower, but I doubt it would be the end of the NFL or even major-college level football.
I mean we still have boxing and MMA and all kinds of extreme stuff goin on.
It’ll change things, but i still think the NFL will be around for a long time.
Too much money. America needs its bread and circuses.w

wvParticipantI watched about fifteen minutes of plays or so. Looked like a different team out there. Its almost like there’s a new coach or somethin.
Last year it seemed like it was an enormous struggle just to get
any WR open.
But last night there was always someone open — and — it looked easy, smooth. And that was without Watkins.
Why didnt they hire McV thirteen years ago?
w
v
wvParticipantIts Dallas. I want to WIN.
Its the beginning of the McV era.
Just WIN.

wvParticipantThat photo is going to be remembered decades from now. Its probly gonna win a lot of photo-awards as well.

wvParticipant“…There is a reason Brownworth resorts to outright lies, Reid engages in smears and Watson and Tanden make illogical claims of racism and sexism. Their claims serve to insulate people from legitimate criticism, distract from the issues, smear the Left as privileged and spin neoliberalism as woke.
These are people who spent the primary attacking Sanders as racist and sexist and hailing Clinton as the champion of women and people of color. They still do. They cared more about what happened to Clinton that what happened to the majority of women in the country, let alone the world…”
wvParticipantI dont see why people think this means Tavon is a goner. What if Watkins and Woods and Kupp and Gurley and the TE’s open up a lot of SPACE for Tavon to work in?
Ay, what then?
We might see some electifying stuff.
w
v
wvParticipantWell, i would make that trade in a heartbeat.
Assuming all the medical reports on Watkins were encouraging.
Good Lord — an actual number One WR. In horns. How long has it been?
Glory-fucking-Hallelujah.

wvParticipantSilicon Valley has long done its best, covertly, overtly, subtly, or brazenly, to suppress leftist ideas.
I noticed early on that if you want to find courses on Marx and socialism in, say, Apple’s university, you’re going to find them as taught by far-right sources like mises.org.
And if you sign up to one of those customized news aggregators, and choose “socialism,” the most prevalent articles will also come from right-wing sites — condemnation of leftist philosophy, etc. That’s not going to be what happens when you choose your other categories. You’re not going to get anti-travel articles for travel, or anti-sports articles for sports, or anticapitalist articles for capitalism or economics.
Marx, socialism, the left in general — that stuff usually generates negative articles.
It’s, well, rigged.
==================
Making a different, and ridiculous point — when i was on computer-dating sites, (and I’ve been on half-a-dozen), I used to type in “socialist” or “anarchist” or Marx or Chomsky, etc in my dating-site-search-engine — and these sites have thousands of people on them — in my area, i used to find maybe four or five profiles at most that had that kind of wording in the profile. I had to expand my searches outside WV and past Pittsburgh and into NY City before i found single female socialists.
I dunno what that means, but i took it to mean that WV is a patriotic and holy place to live and NY is full of loose and evil women who are on the hellbound train.

wvParticipantAnd after four years of Trump one would ‘guess’ that a lot of working-class voters wont be any better off and they might not be so prone to drink the Trump koolaid next time around.
But who knows.
w
vI dunno. We’ve seen Americans vote against their economic interests again and again. I think what we have here is a Culture War. And the feelings are pretty strong about what America is.
=============
Well it doesn’t matter to me what you Americans do, because
I’ve seceded from America.I dont have a flag yet though. I’m working on some ideas though. Maybe two Ram horns coming out of a Chomsky-head, with two pieces of toast in the background.
Blue and white, of course.

Who knows what things will look like to voters in three years,
but if the election were this week, I’d guess any Mainstream-pro-corporate-democrat-not-named-Hillary, would eek out a win over Trump. And after four years of Trump one would ‘guess’ that a lot of working-class voters wont be any better off and they might not be so prone to drink the Trump koolaid next time around.

wvParticipantSomething to keep in mind about Wikileaks and Assange: They promise anonymity to all their sources. It’s pretty much the only reason they receive info in the first place. That ironclad promise of complete anonymity and confidentiality. They promise not to even look at who sends them X, Y and Z info. They promise absolute confidentiality.
So they’re lying when they divulge their sources. Either they’re lying that they know who sent them the info, that the Russians didn’t, that Seth Rich did, or they lie about confidentiality and anonymity of their sources.
They can’t be telling the truth throughout the process.
===============
Well if the source is Dead maybe Assange thinks he can go ahead and drop some hints about it:
“…Mainstream news outlets have mocked any linkage between Rich’s murder and the disclosure of the DNC emails as a “conspiracy theory,” but Hersh’s comments suggest another possibility – that the murder and the leak were unrelated while Rich may still have been the leaker.
In dismissing the possibility that Rich was the leaker, mainstream media outlets often ignore one of the key reason why some people believe that he was: Shortly after his murder, WikiLeaks, which has denied receiving the emails from the Russian government, posted a Tweet offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the solution of the mystery of who killed Rich.
Julian Assange, WikiLeaks founder and publisher, brought up Rich’s murder out of context in an interview with Dutch TV last August. “Whistle-blowers go to significant efforts to get us material and often very significant risks,” Assange said. “As a 27-year-old, works for the DNC, was shot in the back, murdered just a few weeks ago for unknown reasons as he was walking down the street in Washington.”
Pressed by the interviewer to say whether Rich was the source of the DNC emails, Assange said WikiLeaks never reveals its sources. Yet, it appeared to be an indirect way of naming Rich, while formally maintaining WikiLeak’s policy. An alternative view would be to believe that Assange is cynically using Rich’s death to divert the trail from the real source.
But Assange is likely one of the few people who actually knows who the source is, so his professed interest in Rich’s murder presents a clue regarding the source of the leak that any responsible news organization would at least acknowledge although that has not been the case in many recent mainstream articles about the supposed Seth Rich “conspiracy theory.”….
…
…..Until now, Hersh’s only public comment about the tape was to National Public Radio. “I hear gossip,” Hersh said. “[Butowsky] took two and two and made 45 out of it.”I contacted Hersh on Friday via email. He confirmed to me that it was his voice on the tape by angrily condemning those who he said secretly recorded him, without identifying them. He did not respond when I asked him whether he thought the tape may have been altered. Hersh refused to comment further.
On June 2, in an exchange of emails between Hersh and Butowsky, Hersh denied any knowledge of the FBI report. That was two months before Hersh discovered that he had been secretly recorded when the tape was made public on Aug. 1 by Big League Politics. A screenshot of the Hersh-Butowsky email exchange was published by Big League Politics last week…..see link…..
…..Corporate media’s uniform reaction has been to treat the idea of Seth Rich being WikiLeak’s source as a “conspiracy theory” – while mostly ignoring Assange’s hints and now the Hersh tape. Major U.S. media outlets cover Russia-gate as if Russian interference in last November’s U.S. election is proven, rather than based on a shaky “assessment” by “hand-picked” analysts from three – not all 17 – U.S. intelligence agencies….

I didn’t see angry. More like just spooked out. I don’t think she’s sad, or is supposed to be sad, I just see her as freaked. I don’t see Sansa slipping into the Dark Side. None of the Starks will. That thing about learning from Cerci was just supposed to set her up as having some conflicts with Jon. And that’s just because it’s GOT and nothing is supposed to be easy.=============
Spooked out is the perfect phrase for it. It was a mix of emotions and spooked out covers the mix pretty well.
Sophie Turner has done some fine acting with just an expression. Everyone remembers the Sansa ‘smirk’ when Bolton got himself et by his dogs.
She’s good at nonverbal acting. Facial expressions.
Dinklage is good at that too.

Clapper is sort of a better guy but not rocket scientist, the NSA guy’s a fucking moron, and they don’t- you know the trouble with all of those guys is that the only way they’re going to make it to a board or two and get hired by (?) and get some fat cat contracts is if Hillary stayed in. With Trump they’re gone, they’re done, they’re going to live on their pension, they’re not going to make it. And I gotta tell you guys, they don’t want to live on their pension, they want to be on boards,” Hersh says. wvParticipantThe reason the Lannisters and Tarleys didn’t look as good against the Dothraki is because they were in the process of moving.
Moving takes a lot out of an army. They just weren’t in sync.
Plus of course it was a road battle.
And Dickon Tarly was a rookie.

wvParticipant“…A few days earlier, Assange had told CNN that WikiLeaks likes “to create maximum ambiguity as to who our sources are.” Still, Assange’s words stoked stories that Rich was the source of the DNC emails and had been targeted by Democratic loyalists in retaliation. There is no proof of this claim…”
