    wv rants…
    All over NPR and the mainstream in general these days i keep hearing CEO’s from Facebook, Google and Twitter talk about how “russian propaganda” has infiltrated the internet and influenced the elections and how america is under attack from “russian propaganda”.

    Now, i have not heard them give concrete EXAMPLES of what they mean by “russian propaganda”. They never give examples. (other than hillary emails of course).

    No, no examples. What they DO talk about in generalities is how the russians are “trying to cause divisions” among us. Trying to exacerbate discontent, that sort of thing.

    Right.

    Now when “I” listen to RT, all i ever hear is your basic, classic, leftist-chomsky/zinn critique of the american corporatocracy. Thats what i hear.

    Apparently that is “russian propaganda.”

    It infuriates me. Imho, RT is probably the single best political site available to joe and jane American.

    “…partisans on the left may argue that the presidency was lost because people who shared their ideological beliefs were insufficiently motivated by Clinton’s candidacy to turn out to vote. There may be some truth to that, but Brown warns that parties can seldom recover voters whose affections they’ve lost. “You have to go forward and start pushing into the opposing party’s base,” he says, “where they have started to ignore their supporters.”

    This sounds like what the DNC believes in. I dont think its ‘strategy’ really, i think its what the ‘believe’ in. I think they just honestly ‘lean to the right’. The way Bill Clinton did. The way Hillary did. Thats what the DNC ‘is’.

    progressives vs democrats:http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/king-progressives-feel-unwelcome-democratic-party-article-1.3252755

    This is a rather typical article written by a progressive. You can see lots of these kinds of articles on the net. And they complain about all the usual points about The Dems not being progressive and how the Dems are really just Rep-lites.

    The thing is, what the articles dont talk about is how and why the Rep-lite-Dems got elected in their primaries in the first place. I mean the vast quantities of American Voters, VOTED for the DNC-Dems. The Thug-lites. They voted for em.

    There aint enough of us, Zooey. For lots of reasons. And we’ve posted about those reasons for over a decade. But still, the bottom line is there aint enough people who think like us.

    But it might get the attention of the DNC…although you would have thought they would have noticed what happened in 2016. Who knows?

    =========================

    Well I have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as “getting the attention” of the DNC. I think the DNC is what it is. They have corporate-souls just like hardcore-Republicans. I think they will always do exactly what they have always done. Because thats just who they are. Thats what they believe in.

    There’s not enough of us, Zooey. There just aint.

    I think there’s a good chance Harris will be the establishment-backed candidate.

    I would be very happy if the progressives would splinter off behind Bernie for a third party.

    ===================

    Well, that would mean four more years of Trump, right.

    Once again, people are faced with the usual triangulations.

    I’m never voting for a DNC-backed-Dem. Ever.
    If that means endless Rep presidents, so be it. I just dont believe in the system anymore.

    Russell Wilson had beautiful touch on his deep throws when he had time.

    And of course he always seems to have a couple of big spin-and-escape plays in every game. Sometimes i swear it looks like he sets up the oncoming passrushers. Its like he knows he’s going to do the spin thing, and he sets them up. Sucks them in and poof he’s gone.

    He looks healthy now.

    Anyway, i didnt mind Seattle winning. I want them playing well, and being all cocky. When the Rams win the division i dont want it to be because Seattle is lame.

    Bring them on.

    some folks “dont think a DT is worth it”

    I agree with you about his overall value just as a top defender.

    But I also think elite DTs ARE worth it too.

    Not saying you disagree.

    Elite DTs are rare and there are very good, sound, basic football reasons why they are very good for your defense. Better than having 2 other good players at different positions.

    ================

    I dunno about DT’s in general, but i know any player that can cause a QB and an Offensive Coordinator to totally adjust their gameplan, is worth Paying.

    Wade Philips is worth paying, too.

    Btw, there shouldnt be any London games, and there shouldnt be any Thursday games, and there shouldnt be more than two preseason games, and there shouldnt be any fucking Bye weeks. There. Make it so.

    Oh, and the Chargers should be in San Diego. And the flat State of Ohio does not need two football teams. Move Cincy to St.Louis.

    Yes. I think some folks “dont think a DT is worth it” but I dont even think of AD as a DT. He’s a Category-Five Storm. Ya know.

    It dont matter what position he plays.

    The Rams offense aint the reason they been winning lately.

    i’ll be honest. i was thinking they were gonna need to cut him.

    i mean i don’t know how accurate pff is, but he’s obviously doing something right. this defense looks better and better each week.

    now if only quinn can have a resurgence. i’ve seen that he’s been getting pressure on the qb. maybe he can start converting those pressures into sacks.

    i’ve also noted that barron is a solid 225 pounds. also interesting is they had ogletree lose weight from 250 to 235 pounds.

    ================

    I never liked the idea of getting rid of Barron cause ‘he didnt fit’ the new scheme. I thought Barron was a ‘special’ player, and when ya have one of those, you change the scheme to fit the special-player, and not the other way around.

    He can play on my team anyday.

    What’s intriguing is this J.Johnson guy. IF he turns out to be a solid player
    and Joyner can stay healthy…well…damn. Ca
    use they can use draft picks for the BPA…

    Gotta make Aaron Donald happy though. The D starts with Aaron Donald. It ends with Aaron Donald. The middle part, i dunno.

    That was a good one.

    Yeah, they complained about their equipment manager cause the players were slipping on the grass. They dont like Tyrian Matthew. They dont like Arians. They dont like their DC. They dont like their special teams coach. They dont like their kicker.

    The only thing they love is Larry Fitzgerald and they want to trade him because “he doesnt deserve this”.

    I’m good, Lysol. Been pretty busy lately battling with moths in my closets. The internet tells me that vinegar is the key to mothless closets. I’m trying a combo of Kentucky whiskey and white vinegar. Anyway, they have to sign Donald.

    McV said, on the Rich Eisen interview, that Turnovers are the key to this team. When they get turnovers and dont lose turnovers, they win. He emphasized it.

    I found an old apple-turnover in my closet. Looked to be about three years old. I’ve been pondering whether its related to my moth problem. Ok, carry on.

    They probably arent great at anything yet, but they will be. Its pretty obvious the passing game is just getting started. We keep reading this offense is a combo of the Saints/Pats/Falcons. And you can see that. But as good as they’ve been, its still not close to where it will be in the future. They are just starting to gel.

    They have to resign Donald.

    I honestly don’t think it’s unique. It’s just a version of what we already saw with the Shula Dolphins, the Noll Steelers, or the Walsh 9ers. And a coupla others too.

    Heck Walsh did it with 2 different qbs. Shula did it with 3 different qbs (Griese, Morrall, Marino).

    ==============

    Well, there’s similarities to the Lombardi teams, Shula, Walsh, Noll, Halas, etc, but man, no organization has done ‘it’ in the last two decades, right?

    At any rate, whatever the Patriots have is special. Year after year after year after year they continue to be great. Players change, and it doesnt matter. Its unlike anything else in pro football. No NFL team has duplicated it. Is it Belichick? Belichick and Brady? Something more?

    I dont disagree with any of that, but the Defense looked good against Bortles and Arizona, and Seattle. I dunno what they’ll look like when the high-octane offenses show up. Like New Orleans, etc.

    They won’t look as good.

    And everyone will be concerned that they aren’t as good as we think they are.

    That’s what will happen.

    ================

    I guess thats true. And i guess that means they dont have an ‘elite’ defense that can shut down great offenses, but they have a ‘good’ defense that can generally play well and be a top twelve defense.

    Its only a franchise defense, not an elite defense.
