Look, I just have to be honest. I’m not sure Chris Massey was quite at Jim Brown’s level. I know its close, but I might have to give the edge to Jim Brown.
I mean, Brown was in Movies. Classics. I think he was in McHales Navy, er somethin. Jackie Brown vs Godzilla. The Dirty Toaster. Somethin. I forget, but I know he was in movies. Massey couldnt act.

I was thinkin about Jim Brown the other day, when i listened to Weddle talk about Aaron Donald. Weddle said he was the best football player he’d ever played with, period. I started wonderin which players had risen to a completely different ‘level’ than the other players. Jim Brown did. Who else? I dunno, but maybe Aaron Donald is in that class. Maybe. When he’s healthy.

I tend to agree with the three NFL players in the vid. I think the future is gonna be tilted toward the running-QBs. For the reasons they talked about — simply more and more running-QBs coming out of college.
The smart ones will last. The ones that run-and-then-slide. Like Russell Wilson. The one’s that have the macho-streak will end up like RGIII.
Granted there will also, always be drop-back QBs. Its just that the trend is gonna be toward more athletic-QBs. I think.

Staying on last season they played 19 games including 3 playoff games so no one is asking Sean who? Still they get their share of chunks. The OL will get better and Goff gets more time. You would think the saints were game planning for that game as soon as the schedule came out.

————-Big game between Seattle and New Orleans coming up. Interesting matchup, important consequences.
I thought Bridgewater did very well against the Rams. He was victimized by drops and penalties. Several important positive plays were called back.
I think the Saints will still be a force in New Orleans, but on the road, without that crowd, i dunno. Seattle game will tell us a lot about the Saints.

well like i’ve maintained. i think goff regresses statistically.
too many things were going his way before and now he’s got oline issues. sully isn’t there to help him. the oline overall is not as good as it was in previous years. plus defenses have hours of tape on him and two offseasons to look for weaknesses, which he will have to counteract.
this isn’t the biggest deal. almost all qbs go through this.
the important thing is that mcvay and co not panic, but i really doubt that they do panic.

Exactly I will never quit following the Saints fan and following them as always. It would be cheating myself and throwing all of the joy and heartache away for nothing . The NFL as a whole won’t win in that way with me personally.What does change is the fact that I will no longer spend money on NFL products. I will tell my family not to buy me any gift that helps them I have tons of Saints stuff it’s a tradition to get something every year. I am dropping the Sunday ticket I live on a super fixed income from SSDI and 300.00 is a huge chunk. There are streaming options anyways(should have done that awhile ago). I think we will get enough primetime games also.
I have stopped watching pre game shows years ago and I don’t watch football from morning till night on Sunday’s. I will balance my time which is becoming more valuable as time goes on Sunday’s. Lastly bring my stress level down it’s not worth it anymore. Overall the game isn’t as fun as it once was the evolution is not one of forwardness it’s gone just the opposite way.”

“I’m done with NFL football. I was almost there before the start of this season for exactly the reason we are all so disgusted now. I couldn’t stay away from my Saints once the season started. I have been a continuous Saints fan since the early 80’s. I really hope I can hold onto that conviction because it IS RIGGED. The flip side is it’s so much fun to be a part of. I hate Goodell and what he has done to the NFL.
Hmmm, Goodell fired and rules changes to allow PI to be reviewed would probably restore some of my faith especially if the games are not “officiated” to be determined in last 4 minutes.”——

The bomb to Cooks is, as everyone has noted, about as beautiful as the long bomb gets. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a WR tracking with his head/neck back that far, for that long. And the fingertip catch. And the length of the throw. And the high arc. Are you kidding me.
Course they screwed up in the redzone, naturally 🙂

I actually think Goff is prepared to return to his “regular 100 qb ratings” days from before the bye last year. I just think they had a game and a half of rust and are now hitting stride.
What do others think? What’s the “informal poll” on that?

Oline mainly, plus less Gurley. Plus better competition in the Division, looks like.
Saffold was a big loss. Whitworth will wear down.
But who knows.

vwvParticipantImpressive play by Cooks on the short TD catch. He made a tough contested catch. Not his forte last year.
To state the obvious, I thought the first half offense was A-biz-mal. Abysmal.
Would not surprise me if the season had a lot of games like this one. Sputtering offense, but defense keeps them in the game, and they pull it out with smart, tough, gritty play in the end. But there will also be times the offense blows it early, I would think. Seemed to me a couple of those early Goff throws could have easily been INTs.

vwvParticipant…so I’m watchin the game on replay, and WTF was McVay or Goff thinking on that call on third and goal early in the first quarter. The pass to Everett that had no chance of going anywhere. Even Aikman was startled by it.
Worst call of the year, so far.
