wvParticipantHappy for the win. Didn’t like the fourth quarter stress. Would like to see some more efficiency from the redzone offense. Finally, the win did not make those horrid uniforms grow on me.

wv-ewe’s take on the uniforms:

Goff was 20 for 31, 275 yards, 0 TD, 1 Int … which is a qb rating of 79.4.
BUT, had that roughing call been called: 20 for 30, 275 yards, 0 TD, 0 Int … which is 95.8.That one play cost Goff over 16 points in passer rating.
======================If only that one [fill in the blank] hadn’t happened.
So much of life comes down to that one thing that happened or didnt happen.
I think about this, often. I mean, what if Dolphins had evolved thumbs. What if that one thing had happened. They might have beaten the Pats. Ya know.
There’s a lot of ‘one-things’ that happen. And dont happen.
Alrighty then.
Carry on,

wvParticipantTodd Gurley: 2 receptions for 1 yard. 14 rushes for 56 yards.

(Russell Wilson 31 for 35, 322 yards, 4 TDs)
wvParticipantI especially love the fact that the refs decided another game in favor of the Rams.
Well they did and they didn’t. Goff’s INT came from him being hit in the head as he threw. That wasn’t called. As soon as I find a pic I’ll post it. It was flagrant.
================
I saw it on one of the tweet-posts.
I think not having fans at the game is going to help the Rams. And it will hurt the Seahawks.
The Seahawks lose actual seahawk fans at their home games.
The Rams also lose seahawk fans at ram home games. Thus the pandemic helps the Rams. This could be our year.

wvParticipantSaw the highlights. Great Win. I mean, its the Cowboys. A win over Amerika’s Team is awesome.
I especially love the fact that the refs decided another game in favor of the Rams. Thats a good sign.
Game ball goes to McVay. Looked like a good game-plan.

wvParticipantBiden Ads. Fwiw.
I think they are ‘ok.’ Kinda bland but effective, maybe.

wvParticipantPolls have Biden winning the Old-people vote. This is why i never thot Biden’s brain-disintigration would hurt Biden. I think Old people give candidates a break on the brain-thing. They dont care.

wvParticipantThe big issue on Fox is not what Trump said, but who is responsible for letting trump do it.
————————–
wvParticipant<
Right. The only “panic” he could have been worried about was panic on Wall Street. Not panic on Main Street. He could not possibly care less about that.————-
As i recall the Tokyo-Studies of the 1950’s clearly demonstrated that many humans do indeed panic when confronted by confusing situations. Women often fall down.
wvParticipantI dunno about Chappelle. There are times i love his humor and there are times,
I dont.Yeah I agree. Some things just aren’t funny.
================
I just have a gut-feeling comics sometimes just want to stretch the boundaries and prove that ‘anything’ has a funny side. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesnt.
Like i know numerous Jews who make Holocaust jokes. The sing holocaust songs, in the car, etc. Dark humor. But it comes from an authentic place. And it works, at least for them.
But then sometimes i think it doesnt really come from an authentic place. Sometimes i think it just comes from a comic’s ego. And it doesnt work. At least for me.
Like if a sex-abuse-survivor does a bit about sex-abuse, maybe it works for me. I dunno. Tricky ground, imho. For me it has somethin ta do with what i’m labeling authenticity. But dont ask me what that means.

wvParticipantI dunno about Chappelle. There are times i love his humor and there are times,
I dont. Some of this stuff, i cant say i like. I noticed Louie CK going in directions like this many years ago and I didnt like it from him, either. Sometimes i think comedians feel a need to push-the-envelope or somethin. Just for the sake of pushing the envelope.

wvParticipantWell…..based on that clip, i have a bad feeling about it. Looks like another version of the Avengers.
w
vMy question is, what do sandworms eat.
They are really big and there can’t be a whole lot of foodstuffs wandering around out on the desert.
At least on earth blue whales have krill.
That’s a cruel trick of evolution–to make you this gigantic creature who lives in desert sands, where nothing edible would venture.
…
===================
Ya know. There’s this thing called the Internet. You can search “what do worms eat?”“Types of Foods for Composting Worms
“…worms love fruits and vegetables from your kitchen and garden. Save your left-over, spoilt organic matter, peelings, and cores for the worms. They also like tea bags, bread, pasta, grains, shredded black print newspaper, coffee grounds, and hair”w

=============This to me — and i know others here disagree — but this to me, is part of the mega-problem. This CIA-murderer is upset at Trump, NOT because trump has interfered in left-leaning nations, or that Trump has bombed Syria or that Trump has embraced dictators in Saudi Arabia, or that Trump is destroying the biosphere with his insane enviro-policies — no. The spook is upset because Trump is not hostile enough towards Russia. Like Hillary would have been.
This is exactly why people like me, and bill moyers and glenn greenwald and chris hedges and cornell west are not averse to the ‘deep state’ term.

wvParticipantBelieve it or not, i tend to agree with Sagaar on a lot of this. And yall know what i think of Trump. But the Atlantic piece struck me as mainly a political-hit-piece by the Dem-CIA-War-Machine.
And like Sagaar, I think its more than likely Trump did indeed say something along the lines of whats been reported. I’m SURE he’s said a LOT worse in the last four years. But the Timing of the story AND the agenda of The Atlantic/NYT/Wash-Post/MSNBC etc has NEVER been simply to ‘tell the truth.’ Its the Thomas Friedman agenda. I often call it the deep-state, but its basically just the Imperialism-Agenda if that term is less problematic.
Am i the onliest one who agrees with Sagaar?

wvParticipantYou’re probably right.

All i know is, if Cornell looked like Denzel or Billy Dee Williams, Fox would never have him on. Fox loves Cornell’s look.
I wonder if Noam has ever been asked to be on Fox News? Someone should ask him that.

“If you want a vision of the bleak, bland capitalist future, go to Hudson Yards in New York City, the new, billion-dollar complex of gleaming skyscrapers. It’s a lifeless shopping mall for luxury goods, intensely policed and surveilled, where every aspect of life is curated by a corporation… This is the city for the winners. The losers will be in homeless encampments outside the city gates.
The left’s city of the future looks very different. It is a Star Trek world, where we can travel through space together and meet aliens. It is public libraries and free colleges, where all can come and learn without worrying about money. It is Mardis Gras in New Orleans, where everyone expresses their individuality through art and costume without any regard for profit or commerce. It is camping trips and cookouts, book clubs and street cafes. It is the theory that life is meant to be enjoyed, and that nobody should lack the basic ingredients for a decent existence. It is, above all, the conviction that we’re here to help each other through this thing, whatever it is.”

wvParticipantAfter the beat-down last year, its understandable the Rams would be dogs.
Looks like its about the second-most interesting game on the NFL schedule in week one. I would think Brady vs the Saints will be the most-watched game.
I went ahead and let GamePass sign me up for another year. I was leaning against it, but I went ahead and let the corporate-weasels automatically sign me up.
This has to be the strangest NFL year of all time. The Covid-Year. The year piped-in-fake-fan/noise was added to the telecast. Empty stadiums. The super-bowl could be played in any empty stadium. Think about that.
Random players will be getting Covid, every week. Think about that.
Weird-Football in the midst of the civil-war-Election-of-the-century.
All the players will be kneeling this time. Cept Kaepernik is nowhere on the field. What a strange trip.
Go Rams. I guess.
