wvParticipantI’ve noticed when the Rams are good,
they are good.
And when they are bad,
they are bad.Thats what I’ve noticed.

wvParticipantKurt Warner was on NFL Network today and was asked about Goff and his struggles…..he said Goff is a very solid starter in the NFL who has already proven he can be very good, but people got to stop trying to compare him to other QB’s who could carry a team to a Super Bowl….he said there is only a handful of them that could do that throughout the history of the NFL
=====
I think thats about right.
But I also think he’s been making too many bonehead plays lately.

wvParticipantThe fumble by Goff at the end of his run was dreadful. Just dreadful. I totally understand McVay’s reaction after the game.
I dont like to pile on Goff, but that play alone gives him an “F” for that game.
That was one of the worst plays I’ve seen a Ram QB make. Ever.
I still cant believe that one.Goff can still have a good year. The NFC does not have a dominant team.

wvParticipantSaw the low-lights. They could probably play ten times in a row and there wouldnt be much variation in the games. 49ers just matchup well against the Rams, as zn pointed out. And Shannahan seems to have the answers to McV’s offense.
Obviously, Goff made some bonehead plays. I dunno what to say about that. Has he hit his celing? In a slump? Pressing?
Bad loss.

wvParticipantYou know everytime i see Dallas they look terrible. But I remember that first game and the Rams had their hands full.

wvParticipantI’ve just seen something horrible. The viking have new uniforms. They are a travesty. Bud Grant is turning over in his cold grave.
What would happen if the Vikings wore these uniforms and the Rams wore their travesty-blue uniforms? What would happen?
2020, man.
wvParticipantI just think its who McVay is. I think the media thinks of him as a gunslinger but he’s not. He just seems like a very sound offensive mind, but he’s not like Don Coryell or somethin. Run the ball. Short passes. Lots of quick screens. Focus on execution.
Plus i think he knows Goff’s weaknesses and he is not about to risk strip-sacks.
He’d rather trust the Defense, with Donald, Ramsey and company.At some point, down the road, in the playoffs, in the fourth quarter, on third and long, the game will be in Goff’s hands. We’ll see what happens.
w
vYeah, I think it’s an adjustment. I think he would be happy to throw deep a couple of times a game, but 1) they don’t have a traditional deep threat WR. They’re all footwork guys with precise routes and good hands. 2) the dirtier Goff’s jersey, the less effective he is. He’s not Kurt Warner. So McVay does what works. And this works.
==============
Yeah, and McVay knows exactly what Goff does best. And Goff has done a fine job of running this offense. Martz would have gotten Goff killed a long time ago. McVay is the opposite. He protects Goff with this offense, and he plays to Goffs’ strengths.For me, whats been most impressive about this years version of Goff is those rollout-throws. That kid can throw darts on the run, off-balance. I trust him completely out of the pocket.

wvParticipantlove watching this defense.
but mcvay has to stay aggressive. i know he trusts the defense. but he can’t keep putting them in bad situations. there was a point where the rams could have put this game away, and they literally almost gave it away.
rams are 5th in total offense but only 17th in scoring. are they just not finishing drives?
Yes, that’s the main area of concern for me, too. Not finishing. I can’t put a finger on it, but they don’t seem as potent offensively as I expected them to be with the healthy, maturing OL.
However, the Rams seem to be improving. And their defense will keep them in games.

But if the Rams decline the penalty, there is no illegal pass, or rather it’s not counted, so the spot is the point of reception. The problem is the rule. Hammond went on about that. They need to build in losing a down to that penalty. Then the whole spot thing becomes irrelevant.=================
Yeah, its just not what i expected the rule to be. I thought it would simply be blown dead as soon as Brady threw it the 2nd time, and the WR caught it.
I mean what if Brady had kicked it to the WR, and the WR caught it. Would they just let the play continue like it was a holding penalty, and wait until the play ended.Anyway. I think Brockers is having his best year.
And i think Donald is dinged up or something. He doesnt look like a monster anymore. He looks ok, but not quite right.w
