    My sister, wv-ewe, still cannot relax. The Monster-Trump cant die, she says. He’s too evil.

    She told me, she’s seen too many Monster movies where in the last scene, the monster’s hand pushes up through grave to the surface…

    No dancing for her. She’s…waiting. For the hand.

    NFL Research@NFLResearch
    Josh Allen is the 1st QB in the Super Bowl era with 400+ pass yds, 3+ pass TD, 0 INT & a 130+ passer rating in multiple games in a season

    Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers & Patrick Mahomes are the only other players with multiple such games in their careers

    NFL Stats@NFL_Stats
    Patrick Mahomes is now the fastest QB in #NFL history to 100 passing TDs (40 games), breaking the previous record held by Dan Marino (44 games)

    =======

    Mahomes may be the best football player I’ve ever seen.

    Agree with all of that. Another factor, or two, or three:

    Clinton/Obama/Biden/DNC govern like moderate Republicans, but those moderate Republicans no longer exist in the GOP. So what is it they’re mimicking, exactly? A phantom, a mirage, a myth?

    Both parties also have their own gravitational pull, and the influence of their “bases,” which alter words and deeds and ideologies. So a “moderate Republican” who actually resides IN the GOP is going to be much, much further to the right than a “moderate Republican” who resides in the Dem Party. They won’t speak or act in the same way. Not ever.

    I’d much rather have the kind of society described in Martin Hägglund’s This Life. But if I have to choose between a moderate Republican in Dem clothes, or a moderate Republican in Republican clothes, I’d take the former. And in this election, it was a much easier choice than that:

    Moderate Republidem versus fascist POS.

    I hope I live long enough to see a true leftist in the White House and leftists controlling Congress, etc. etc. Who then work to change the system entirely: fully realized economic and political democracy.

    We can dream.

    ================

    Yeah, and predicting the future is impossible. There’s plenty of evidence that the nation will just continue replaying the same ole sorry ass record. Over and over and over. Frankly, there is a MOUNTAIN of evidence pointing in ‘that’ direction.
    Look at the Senate. 99-1. I’ll just keep pointing it out, year after year after year. Thats a huge piece of evidence. It just cant be ignored.

    And yet, there are also rumblings below the surface. Little rays of progressive light coming thru. An AOC here, a Bernie there. M4A is certainly on track to break through. I kinda think its where Marijuana-legalization was about ten years ago. But who knows.

    M4A is such a game-changer though. Marijuana is just not all that important compared to M4A.

    But just the fact progressives have to fight another decade to get something the rest of the world has had for ages, says a lot about the Corporotacracy.

    70,000,000 Amerikans wanted Trump. Donald Trump. He came within a hair of winning a second term. Thats our country.

    And Bernie could not even beat a Biden. So, here we are. Again. Groundhog Day.

    Before there can be any real progressive movement in this country they have to let the following sink in: Over 40 million people in this country think Biden is either a socialist or a communist.

    There is a real progressive movement in the country. In terms of what voters want, when polled, they identify with progressive positions, too. It is also true that unlike more advanced democracies (in Europe for example), the USA is still dealing with good old-fashioned red scare tactics. But I will say this. People who warn us about that kind of thing actually reinforce those tactics. Sometimes I even think that’s the point.

    =============

    I think its quite complicated. Lots of different political-factions and movements swirling in a vortex of American politics.

    Biden/Obama/Clinton/DNC use the same formula over and over to win or sometimes lose elections. They do that because they are moderate-republicans. Thats what they are. So they just do what those people do. And its always the same formula.

    The question the progressive movement asks is — Is there another formula that could actually Win? I mean win big. Nationally. Not just a small district like AOC’s etc.

    I dont think we know the answer to that question.

    I like Chappelle, but I was not moved by that routine. I wish he had used his platform to suggest we all march on Biden for Medicare-For-All.
    That would have been actually useful.

    Well, my “feeds” aren’t any better. Worse, even.

    Everyone gloating.

    And…it’s Joe Fucking Biden we’re gloating about.

    I mean….

    =============
    Really? Geez, we have totally different feeds. I only have a twitter feed, i dont do facebook. But my feed is all about “Guillotining Biden” and such. Then again, I have made it a point to follow Stalinists, Maoists, Leninists, Anarchists, etc.

    They hate Biden more than Trump. If i try to argue Trump is worse, I’m labeled a “Liberal.”

    Tough crowd.

    Not a tough crowd. An ignorant crowd. As AOC said as she worked hard for Biden he is the ONLY choice in this election. So what do the ignorants say to her? I give her a lot of credit to all her energy and courage to support Joe Biden. She is smart-not ignorant. Same with Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI). They stood for Biden when it counts. I give them not only credit but also courage for their support. Progressives are the future. The above know this. The others you mentioned don’t care about the future -they care about making a statement no matter the cost.

    ==================
    I think you are taking the ‘guillotine’ statement too literally. Yes AOC and Ilhan and others worked to defeat Trump. But they didnt work ‘for Biden.’ They worked ‘against Trump.’ Same with the leftists here.

    You know these swings states really are incredibly close. My Lord. With just a little luck Trump could have had a Landslide victory.

    Btw, in West,byGod, Virginia, Biden got 29 percent. Reddest State in the Nation other than Wyoming, in which Biden got 26 percent.

    Howie got 2 percent for the Greens.

    In a couple of swing states, the Libertarian might just have cost Trump the victories. They were that close.

    Trump is like a super-villain. He’s amazing. What a hellscape this country is.

    Trump would have won without the pandemic. The crashing economy had to have cost him a percentage point or two. What a year. 2020.

    ferrets:https://portside.org/2020-11-06/nasal-spray-prevents-covid-infection-ferrets-study-finds
    A nasal spray that blocks the absorption of the SARS-CoV-2 virus has completely protected ferrets it was tested on, according to a small study released on Thursday by an international team of scientists. The study, which was limited to animals and has not yet been peer-reviewed, was assessed by several health experts at the request of The New York Times.

    If the spray, which the scientists described as nontoxic and stable, is proved to work in humans, it could provide a new way of fighting the pandemic. A daily spritz up the nose would act like a vaccine.

    “Having something new that works against the coronavirus is exciting,” said Dr. Arturo Casadevall, the chairman of immunology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, who was not involved in the study. “I could imagine this being part of the arsenal.”…

    The last few days I’ve been live-streaming ABC News, NBC News and PBS News to follow the election. I wanted to stream Fox but i guess they didnt have a live-stream.

    Anyway, this is the first time Ive actually watched the Corporate-Network-Pundits in many many years. I had forgotten what they are like. It…is…APPALLING how they ALLLLLLLLLLLL sound like David Gergin. He’s the smooth, soothing, civil, moderate-republican from PBS. I mean they ALLLLLLLLLLL push moderate-republican/Dem-Centrist strategies. ALLL of them.

    I had to turn it off. It was physically painful to listen to it.

    My god in heaven. I had forgotten what a propaganda-wasteland TV ‘news’ is.

    There’s a reason we have another Biden in office now.

    He’ll be Obama/Clinton, I assume. He will be a mass-murderer as all modern Dem-Presidents have been. He will use drones to murder countless people-of-color abroad.

    He will raise tensions with nuclear-power-Russia.

    He will do whatever the CIA/NSA tells him to do. So, he will get effusive praise from all the ex-cia-celebrity-pundits on Dem-Corporate-media.

    He will funnel money to the rich as all corporate-Dems have done. The poor will continue to be arrested often, and live under great stress, and die sooner than the comfortable-wealthy liberals.

    He will continue to allow fracking to poison children all over my area of Appalachia. They will die much sooner than the wealthy-dem-donor-Biden-neolibs.

    He has to be better on the environment than Trump, though I dont know how ‘much’ better.

    He has to be better on Covid than Trump, but i dont know how ‘much’ better.

    He’ll tinker a bit with police reform but it will be all show and no substance. He will leave it to cities to figure out their own ‘reforms’.

    He will be Clinton. Ya know. A moderate Republican. He will listen to moderate-republican-centrists and the corporotocracy will go back to the dem-version.

    A lot of progressives think “we could have had Bernie”. We will never know.
    Leftists often think the country is more left than it really is. Imho.

    The only way change will ever happen in this hellscape is for progressives to run for office downticket and upticket and Win. From schoolboards to The House and Senate. Nothing will change unless that happens. Right now the scoreboard is still 99-1. More or less, everywhere.

    I have to say, the last two days have been two of my favorite days,
    in my entire life. I am loving it. Just loving it.

    The Trump Nightmare is almost over. The Biden Nightmare is about to begin.

    But for today, I am thrilled.

    I am gonna watch Fox News ALL DAY.

    link:https://reason.com/2020/11/04/jo-jorgensen-heading-toward-second-best-result-in-libertarian-party-history/

    “…With votes still being tallied and nails still being bitten in several battleground states, Jorgensen’s vote total currently exceeds the margin between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden in three states: Michigan (+0.87 percentage points, with 90 percent of ballots counted), Wisconsin (+0.51, with 97 percent counted), and Nevada (+0.27, with 87 percent).

    Though 1.14 percent marks a steep drop-off from Gary Johnson’s 3.28 percent in 2016….
    ….The Libertarian is quintupling Green Party nominee Howie Hawkins’ current total of 0.23 percent.”
