PA RamParticipant
Well I can certainly say that my “Rams to Pennsylvania” campaign has not gotten off the ground. No public support, no funding, no plans in place, the Rams owner hasn’t even heard of it and the league has 13,000 other sites ahead of it.
But I am NOT giving up.
I’m hoping it emerges as a “compromise” during the meetings.
That’s the strategy.
If I have to I will make buttons.

PA RamParticipantWatch the Vid. Thats all I’m gonna say:
Collapse is coming — send money

vIf I had to eat rice and cheesy broccoli sauce for more than a week I’d jump off the nearest cliff anyway.
I wonder how many people sent in money for their buckets.
You gotta hand it to Jim Bakker though—the guy learned that you can never run out of a supply of ignorant fools who will send you money for anything.

PA RamParticipantChris Berman. Can he retire already?
Chest colds.
Cable “news”.
“Reality” television.
Having to get a billion cable channels for the few that I really want to watch.
Award shows. I used to actually watch them. Now–I just don’t seem to care.
Movie trailers that give the whole film away.
Reading book after book in search of one I really can’t put down. That may be one or two a year.(For the record this past year those two books were: “Red Notice” by Bill Browder and “Black Flag” by Joby Warrick.)
The Rams finishing .500 or below.

League continuing to seek ways to end stalemate on LA and secure 24 votes for one of the projects (Carson has far more votes right now)…
How is it a stalemate if Carson has far more votes?

PA RamParticipantI don’t know who they should take–haven’t followed it at all–but if he’s better suited for the slot I’d look somewhere else. Rams have that covered. I want a true outside threat.

PA RamParticipantI’m fine with Boras but I absolutely want to see an upgrade at the receiver position.
He’s done well enough with what he has so far. May as well keep it going.
If Fisher flames out next year the whole thing will change anyway.

PA RamParticipantI think the Rams are motivated to get to that lofty 8-8 perch.
They’ll try just a little harder than the 9ers–who have probably already left town.
Plus–Blaine Gabbert.
Rams: 64
9ers 3

PA RamParticipantHappy New Year!!!
This 2015 “Year of the Ram” was a bit of a dud.
2016 is a year of questions–where will they play? How will they do?
Hopefully it all works out.
As for this evening–the only alcohol I’m having is in my cough medicine.

PA RamParticipantI saw it twice–which I guess shows how I felt about the film.
I just love the “Star Wars” universe so I’ve bought in and I loved the newest edition. I can’t wait for the new films. I thought Abrams did a good job setting it up to go forward.

PA RamParticipant<span class=”d4pbbc-font-color” style=”color: blue”>It took me 20 hours over a week. That was good because that was all the time I was going to put in on it. I did it at work during down time. It was original and it isn’t the way the books say. The best thing about it was it works for the cubes that have symbols along with the colors and it works for more the 3 sides. It isn’t the fastest way, but it is a more general solution and I didn’t read any solutions until I had a solution.</span>
<span class=”d4pbbc-font-color” style=”color: blue”>No matter what series of moves you make, if you repeat them, they will eventually return to the original position. I didn’t prove the theory, but it worked on everything I did.</span>
<span class=”d4pbbc-font-color” style=”color: blue”>Then it is a matter of efficiently finding the patterns that you need to solve the type of cube that is scrambled.</span>
Somehow, Ag, I would have expected that of you.
I can’t draw a tic, tac, toe box much less solve these things without help–and even WITH help it isn’t easy. Trying to remember the sequence to get to a particular state requires a lot more mental activity than I seem to have–so I have to refer to the guide and I’ll still turn something the wrong way once in awhile and have to start over.
I can solve the white square every time though–that’s pretty easy–but flipping it and doing the middle part requires eight moves and I just get lost.
I am amazed by anyone who can figure these things out though. It isn’t easy for all of us.
It’s always interesting to me though–whenever I bang up against a wall of the limits of my intelligence. It’s an odd feeling. I think of someone like Einstein as a superhero in that regard. I don’t have those powers. But I respect those who do.

PA RamParticipantI will say this—if William Hayes believes more in mermaids than dinosaurs I am NOT gonna be the one to tell him he’s wrong.
Nittany should do it. He’s a science geek. Let him explain it to Mr. Hayes.

PA RamParticipantI have been sick as a dog today–been waking up off and on to check the score and apparently the Rams won this thing? Maybe that’s the key–I should try to be sick more often? Hey–for the team. Anyway–nice win. Now–it’s back to bed and my friend Bucky–the green vomit bucket.

PA RamParticipantI’m glad to see Keenum performing well but I do wish the Rams could have used the time to get a better evaluation of Mannion. I think it’s important to know what they have there. Still, I’m not sure what happens or where they go in the off-season. Can they just let Foles and his contract go? Are they stuck with him? A lot will depend on that–and HOW Case does the last two games.
If he melts down than all bets are off.
If he plays well he can be the starter next year with Mannion as back-up and another young guy perhaps behind him.
"Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. " Philip K. Dick
PA RamParticipantNo way. Not me. I tried the original when they first came out. I think I got one side once. Congratulations!
If it makes you feel any better–most people will only ever solve one side. You pretty much NEED the solving guide to help you. According to Rubiks there are 42 quintillion possibilities but only ONE solution.
There’s certain order in which things are solved and each side is the color of the center cube of a particular side because that cube never moves. You have to remember that when solving ends and corners.
Anyway–it was fun to go through it.

December 26, 2015 at 12:00 pm in reply to: is Seattle facing the most demoralizing loss in its history? #36071PA RamParticipantUnfortunately, this is why the networks will not broadcast this game. After the first quarter beatdown the Rams lay on the hapless Seahawks, they won’t feel there’s much reason to carry the rest of the game. But once Case Keenum gets rolling–who’s going to stop him?
The Seattle defense?
If you believe that you probably believe in magical fairies.
I expect Fisher to pull Keenum after his eigth touchdown pass and save him for that ever important 49er game the last week of the season.

PA RamParticipantWell according to the stats at ESPN, Case Keenum had a 158.0 QB rating for the Bucs game.
A perfect rating is 158.3. So clearly Keenum has room for improvement–.3 room to be exact. But all you kids out there–when was the last time a Rams had a QB with a perfect rating or even one that close?
Of course no one will know that and I doubt anyone will be sifting through past games until they strike gold but I gotta say: Keenum did very well. Is he THE answer at QB? I don’t know–but if no one is really worthy in the draft, and since we have a young guy in Mannion–and IF Keenum continues to perform well–I’d bring him back–draft a receiver in the first round and see what happens.
Of course there is the question of salvaging Nick Foles. Is it worth the time and trouble and effort? Would he bring even more than Keenum? I don’t know that either. Certainly it would be hard to put Foles back in if Keenum does well the last two games–and if they did and he comes out of the gate horrible–what do you do? Do we want to replay this year?
IMO, if Keenum does well–go with Keenum, Mannion and find a way to dump Foles. Put another project in the #3 spot. I don’t know how that works with regard to salary cap but in my pretend world there is no salary cap so it doesn’t matter.
I just hope they aren’t stuck with Foles because I can’t see that helping him or the team.
Extending him looks like it was a mistake at this point. But it is what it is.
Lots of questions for the off season.

"Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. " Philip K. Dick
PA RamParticipantI didn’t watch a single game today. Watched a movie.
I will pay more attention for the playoffs but other than the last two Rams games, I just can’t gather much interest for any of the other teams.
By the way–yesterday I saw “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and it was great. Going to see it again.
Today I watched “Sicario”. Very well made–if depressing.

PA RamParticipantHe’s like a home run batter.
He may not get a lot of singles, but when he swings for the fences and hits–pow.
When he misses, eh.
Sanders was kinda like that. Some ugly stuff followed by a thing of beauty.
He just has to get the touches–and the line has to get better.
I mean–there are runs where he makes something out of nothing. But some better blocking will open up the field and he doesn’t need much.
I want to see them work him into the passing game more effectively. Lots of potential there.
"Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. " Philip K. Dick
PA RamParticipantNo point to it.
If they were headed to the playoffs–fine.
At this point–save him for next year.

They look faster in those things.
Like flying swarming bananas.Tavon looks like he’s having some
fun out there, lately.w
vThey should be forced to wear these lucky uniforms until they lose. They should actually wear yellow make-up and paint the field and football yellow. Let’s see the defense deal with THAT!

December 17, 2015 at 11:48 pm in reply to: Rams: Great team or Greatest Team Ever? Bucs Post Game thoughts #35775PA RamParticipantA quick thought or two–I have to go rub the wife’s feet. Anyway–as for the game:
A win is a win is a win. And I was impressed with Case. Nice job. Boras did a good job.
Defense was a bit disappointing. No sacks.
But a win is a win. 31 points? who woulda thunk it? And they needed those points too.
Nice job.
6-8 and onto Seattle.
On a side note my wife made the ticket reservations for “Star Wars” on Saturday. She showed me the seating chart. We are sitting in the second row from the front. I kid you not. The frigging SECOND row! My neck is gonna kill me.
Ugh.
"Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. " Philip K. Dick
PA RamParticipantI guess my question would be: Is one of these “potential” guys any better than Mannion?
I would still love the Rams to grab a wide receiver. I’m not sure what they’re going to do with the line. They’re in pretty good shape at running back. 🙂
I haven’t followed the college game at all this year so I have no idea about these guys.
I have heard that some teams are wary of Cook because of his attitude? A little cocky maybe?
I’ll have to trust the Rams this year. I can’t help them.

December 14, 2015 at 11:04 am in reply to: that is what football people call "a win" (Lions game thread) #35622PA RamParticipantOkay–I watched the game. Some thoughts:
Case Keenum: He gets the ball out faster than Foles. And it seems to make a difference. His arm isn’t great by any measure but it’s good enough for what this team wants to do. His mobility is a true asset–especially with this offensive line. They moved him a lot and I just don’t think they could have done that effectively with the clunky Nick Foles. Do I think he can be THE guy? And when I say THE guy, I mean that “game manager” type? I kind of do–but the question is still if the Rams should settle for that kind of guy.
Greg Robinson: I know, I know. My weekly punching bag. But I am just disgusted with his performance week in and week out. Seriously, a chop block? He doesn’t know what a chop block is? And if he does–why on earth would he do that? It wasn’t necessary in the least to save the QB. I think he just saw a stationary guy who was engaged he could hit so he thought–“Hey look what I found?” Well, he didn’t find much of anyone else on pass protection. He could be seen clawing after the guy as the guy flew past him. Just horrible.
This offense would be so much more efficient just by replacing him. He screws up more than he helps. I HOPE he can play guard.
Todd Gurley: I was so happy for him. He needed that in the worst way. The line opened some slightly bigger holes and that’s all he needed. I don’t know what Boras did differently but just get this guy a little opening–just a sliver and he’ll do the rest. An amazing talent.
Anyway–it felt good to get a win again. As for draft status? Eh. No sure thing anyway. And as a Sixers fan(annual tankers for constant draft picks)they are not watchable. The Rams will still have a decent choice and with the extra second they’ll be in good position this draft. Last time I checked there was no Peyton Manning available so they don’t particularly need the first pick.
But I’d like to see them leave this year on a more positive note and get some things going.
Three games left and I have no idea what will happen but I feel better about their chances for winning one or two of them than I did before the Lions game.

December 13, 2015 at 9:04 pm in reply to: that is what football people call "a win" (Lions game thread) #35604PA RamParticipantI haven’t watched the game yet–just saw the highlights but I think it’s great that they were able to get Gurley going. I think it’s important for his confidence AND their confidence that they can run him.
The offense clearly has a long way to go but I’ll just enjoy this one.

PA RamParticipantTHAT’S who I should be doing my card tricks for. At least HE appreciated it.
I practically have to tie my wife to a chair to watch it and when I’m done she will just nod and say–that it?
Kinda like our lovemaking–ta-dum-dum!
I’m here all week, folks.
Skype? I will watch your card chops all day long brother. May even break out some of my own.
Now as far as that other thing…keep those videos to your self…please
I appreciate that, lyser.
Of course, you “get” it. I think a lot of magicians have to feel frustrated that magic is considered somewhat of a joke. Yes–a lot of people can appreciate a good trick but many people could care less and as an art it seems to be on the lower rung of respect compared to a signer or dancer or musician. But if you do this as a hobby you begin to get a real appreciation for the skill involved–all parts of it–from the presentation to the mechanics. The amazing ideas that magicians have developed over the years I have always found very clever and when a really good performer performs live with a deck of cards right in front of you–wow. Even though I know what’s happening on most tricks I see now(but certainly not all–and that’s great)I am still amazed.
When I watch someone who has perfected something like a greek deal I feel floored.
Yes–there is way too much crappy magic on the internet and there is not much worse than bad magic. I appreciate the comments but I will never be polished enough to be as good as the top guys but I love to watch them.
Like this guy: Check out the greek deal.
