it’s good to keep Watkins (as long as it doesn’t impact signing A.D.) …. Watkins was an unsung threat in allowing Woods, Everret, Kupp and Gurley (on screens) to get open and productive.

defenses can’t cover all these guys.

i too was bitter after Saturday’s loss… thus I didn’t give a shit about last Sunday’s games……so much so that I over extended myself and started to prep the exterior of the house for paint…. then I thought, “WTF did I get myself into???”,……what a mistake….

So, this weekend fuck painting. better to be bitter and follow football, than being bitter while filling stucco cracks and sanding trim…..

I think ATL can beat Philly.

Hoping for a miracle in New England…. i’d love see Hoyer step in for a benched Brady and lose badly, which is highly unlikely.

Pitt vs Jax will be ugly, won’t bother with that, i’ll most likely continue to prep the house during that game.

I think the Saints can win in Minnesota. that’s the game I’ll watch.

I literally just watched a 12 min highlight reel of the game and totally forgot about that 4th and 1 play on the sideline catch to woods. I log on here and saw that great catch again. It’s too bad that no one will remember that play because of the final outcome….

The Rams are a good team….they’ll be back in the playoffs next season a little more seasoned for the post season.

The Rams future, is hope. Hope is something that they haven’t had past mid October for the past 10+ seasons.

They have a team that can win regular season games on a consistent basis.

I think they’re gonna be perennially consistent with McVay, question is how many more seasons does Wade Phillips wants to do this?

I think the opening drive of the 2nd half determined the game moreso than the special teams turnovers.

The Rams seized momentum at the end of the 1st half but Atlanta opened the 2nd half with an 8 min drive to take control of the game….

Specially, a missed tackle by Ogltree on 3rd and 9 from ATL’s own 41 yard line on Tevin Coleman. Ogletree read the play beautifully and had Coleman for a brief second behind the LOS but just missed the tackle where Coleman broke free for 14 to keep that time consuming drive alive.

Had Ogletree made that play, momentum stays with LA……. to me that play defined the momentum of the 2nd half.

    5 Isiah Robertson’s INT-runback.

that one very is underrated…. off Sonny J. in relief of Kilmer against the Redskins. As a kid growing up, specific events and / or games increased my admiration for the Rams, that game and play was certainly one of them. I remember the celebration of the team surrounding, jumping and hugging Isaiah after he ran past the endzone at the huge coliseum field.

Saturday’s game:……., the whole family and many friends that never gave a shit about the Rams are pulling for the Rams because they know fans like us have remained loyal, I’ve been getting texts and VMs from people that I have heard from in years….

Pinch me… the RAMS are hosting a playoff game at the Coliseum!!!!

Ray Lewis and Boomer Esiason picked ATL based on playoff experience

    Phil Simms picked the Rams

This was on inside the NFL

I was a bit surprised that Lewis picked ATL, he’s been a big fan of Gurley and the Rams most of the year

To me it’s more like the Titans failed to mount their own comeback in those remaining 12 (game) minutes.

Correct, but if Goff doesn’t score with 11:48 remaining we’d be saying the samething about Goff failing to mount a comeback in the 4th

I get it, there was a lot of time left. But he did it in adverse conditions on the road in pretty big game for teams.

Would it count more as a comeback if he did it this week at home vs SF in the closing minutes of a meaningless game?

The Rams were trailing 23 to 20 in the fourth quarter on the road against a team that was fighting for their playoff lives.

The Rams drove 70 yards for a go ahead touchdown, knowing that they had a kicker that missed an extra point and FG in the game…. a kicker who has never made an NFL FG… the Rams had to score a TD

On 3rd and 6 the throw was delivered to take the lead

Later in the Qtr the rams killed 4 mins with a 9 play drive.

I say give it to Goff.

To your point if the Rams lost Sullivan Whitworth tough to win 11 but maybe not lose 12 like Fisher’s team did last year. Sure he wasn’t there to finish the season but if he’s taking the credit for this season’s roster let’s give him the credit for last season’s December loses….

But based on comments below McVay would bring “the best out of EVERYBODY” do you honestly believe Fisher did that?

To your point does McVay miss the playoffs if he inherited Bradford and SJAX and Spags D? Do you think he shores up WR by bring Britt, Tavon ?

I wonder what Vince Young is thinking today by seeing the success Foles and Case are having today. It’s no wonder that Bradford and Foles seriously considered retirement while playing for Fisher in STL.

WHAT DID FISHER DO TO SHORE UP HIS LINE????? WHAT DID HE DO TO MAKE HIS PLAYERS UP TO THEIR BEST, lead the league in penalties?

    From Ram players today:

“”””I would like to say I can speak for the guys who have been here, and everything we went through,” linebacker Robert Quinn said (via the Orange County Register). “With McVay and [defensive coordinator] Wade [Phillips] leading this team, I don’t know what they did, but they just brought the best out of everybody, brought some new guys in and everybody rose up to the challenge.”

GOFF = “It’s just everything he’s done since he got here,” quarterback Jared Goff said. “From day one, it’s been so impressive. He hasn’t changed a bit. Same demeanor every day, and goes about his business the same way, and I think it rubs off on the players and rubs off on me for sure.”””””

Losing a QB and linemen during the season is a very common tale.

Those are specific examples on teams that salvaged seasons when Fisher never had the ability to do so. Those examples are off the top of my head, I’m sure there’s many more….

Like you said this predates Fisher, so what did he do??? Draft Tavon, sign Courtland Finnegan. Sure he drafted talent, but did he do with it? LOSE

Even Fisher’ strengths of Defense and Special teams are vastly improved without Fisher, and this is with an entirely different scheme on defense and without using Tavon as a punt decoy gimmick and going with Pharoah

McVay fixed the problems in 1 year, but MORE IMPORTANTLY McVay created a culture that is disciplined and in position to make plays to tackle to block to execute and catch. McVay’s team looks like a team that actually practices. Fisher’s looked liked a team from the Longest Yard movie

I’m tired of people defending Fisher for his lack of ability to create a winning culture. He’s not capable.

Fisher can’t do it when facing adversity.

I usually contest statements like that. It amounts to this. The “adversity” was having to play with compromised/injured OLs and #2 caliber qbs.

Name examples of any coaches who did it when facing that particular adversity.

No one btw ever has, most likely because there aren’t any. And quite probably there aren’t any because it’s not possible to do that.

Just IMO. Join us in the chat sometime! you only have 5 more opportunities this season.

Adversity examples back up QB and linemen

2016 Dolphins Tannenhill Matt Moore QB combo behind 8 starting linemen
    10 wins

    2016 Broncos
Manning Osweiler 8 starting linemen SB

2016 Houston … Hoyer Weeden 8 different starting linemen 11 wins

    2014 QBs Staton , Palmer,Lindley 9 different starting linemen 11-5

    2012 49ers CK7 / Alex Smith behind 9 linemen in 2012 finished 11-5

1994 49ers Grbac replaced Young 11 starting linemen SB

I used to like Fisher but I got tired of the lack of discipline and penalties.

The tipping point for me was Hard Knocks. I was not impressed, the guy may have football knowledge, but he can’t implement … . He didn’t show me the he can communicate well in meetings or with people, he’s just not a good manager to lead a team to a high level of play.

BTW I really miss the forum to chat during games…

Rams Run Defense played great today

Gurley was great, both running a receiving

Kupp made a huge clutch catch, but Goff and Woods made some nice place to move chains, except on their last time possession drive

I was hoping the Rams could put the game away there, but 7:30 is a lot time to kill

Pharaoh Cooper and ST returns put Goff in some bad spots today

Hekker had his man open for 6

And that kicker, My guess is he’s gone and they get Aguayo. Not only for his misses, but he kick offs are not that good

if Bradford doesn’t get hurt in Carolina in 2013 and stays healthy, I think the Rams make the playoffs that season and Fisher is still with the Rams today. Up to that point, Bradford threw 14 TDs with only 4 picks in 2013……

In regards to coaching Cleveland, I’d take a healthy Marty S. any day of the week over Fisher. Sure Marty has had bad luck in the playoffs, but you have to win in the regular season to get to the playoffs. Fisher can’t do it when facing adversity.

Other than special team gimmicks, Fisher has never shown to have a plan B when things go south…

Jimmy G’s coach compares him to Marc Bulger….

    http://www.knbr.com/2017/12/15/those-close-to-garoppolo-are-making-comparisons-to-some-surprising-past-quarterbacks/

Jimmy Garoppolo’s leap upon the NFL stage has been so spectacular, he’s drawn comparisons to great quarterbacks of the past, including former teammate Tom Brady. Some have even gone so far as to mention Joe Montana.
However those close to him have compared Garoppolo to some quarterbacks no one would suspect. Coach Kyle Shanahan told a Fox television crew before the 49ers played the Texans that Garoppolo reminded him of Marc Bulger.
Even though Bulger kept the “Greatest Show of Turf” going for the St. Louis Rams after Kurt Warner’s departure, not many fans remember Bulger as a fantastic quarterback. Yet in Bulger’s nine years with the Rams, he kept the team competitive (2001-9).
What Shanahan said was that Bulger’s ability to throw with a quick-twitch upper body reminded him of Garoppolo. Garoppolo can also stand in the pocket and release the ball fast without a firm base with his feet.
Meanwhile, 49ers’ radio game analyst Tim Ryan likens Garoppolo’s ability to shield himself from big hits to Warner.

“He throws off the foot, and dips his head right out and goes with the hit rather than getting smashed in the grill,” Ryan told Murph and Mac on Monday morning. That technique reminded him of Warner.
“What made (Warner) who he is and why he’s in the Hall of Fame, he would hang back there knowing he was getting to get tattooed waiting for Torry Holt or Isaac Bruce to run that 16-yard dig, or 16-yard in-cut. He would repeatedly deliver it on time on the money off his back foot and get smashed, and he always got up.”
He sees Garoppolo using the same move.
“(Garoppolo) throws off the foot, and dips his head right out and goes with the hit rather than getting smashed in the grill.”

The best of Bulger and the best of Warner would make any quarterback envious. To have a quick-twitch ability and the courage to stand in and make the throw and cover up are tremendous qualities and one reason Garoppolo has thrown for more yards than any other 49ers’ quarterback in his first two starts.

The renaissance has finally come to Rams fans. Our 40 years in the wilderness is officially over. The Spags, the Linehans, the Fishers. All the signs of an imminent harvest that collapsed under fire blight year after year…over.

It is Thanksgiving, people. And there is bounty on the table. It is playoff time, the Rams are here, and winter is coming.

if this renaissance lasts 25 years, McVay will be 55 years old

The DL and Donald are bad ass….

it’s the little things that Donald and the DL have done that have had a huge impact, including what I thought was the turning point defensive stop of the game yesterday….

it 13 – 0 Early in 2nd qtr, Rams offense are facing a 4th and very short on the Seattle 20 something…. Rams go for it and call a stupid roll out to the right where Goff is picked on a tipped pass…..

Seattle crowd is going beserk, commercial break is playing Alice in Chains, the tide seems to be taking a turn.

Seahawks take over and run a delayed counter… Donald make the stop, no gain.
2nd down, Seattle guard Ifedi flinches fearing the Rams DL, false start
2nd and 15, Wilson pressured, misses his target.
3rd and 15, Wilson is pressured again from his own endzone, throws into double coverage, incomplete….. forces punt.

Pharoh fields the punt and puts the Rams back in great field position.

    5 plays later, the Rams lead 20 – 0.

I think right about there, Dandy Don started to sing….. “Turn out the lights”

The Rams have responded extremely well after each loss this season

They won in Jax, NY, SEA and at home vs a very good Saints team…the Rams have won all these games after some tough heartbreaking loses

McVay and Phillips have shown the ability to have the team well prepared to comeback and win these important games.

I enjoyed the game too, that game was over in mid 2nd qtr, which gave us fans time to enjoy an important division match up with no worry
