No on a RB, unless it is like the 6th round, 7th round or UDFA. If we draft on early, I will be using curse words. Lots of F-Bombs. I’ll be cursing sp much that people would think it was an old NWA album. Was that “Straight Outta Compton?”

JackPMillerParticipantWho is the backup LG in case Witworth goes down? I assume, Noteboom takes over at LT. One key position to worry about is RG. I do not want to see Austin Blythe playing there. He got dominated by much larger DTs, like Fletcher Cox, Eddie Goldman, and Danny Shelton. We need a huge RG to combat that.
JackPMillerParticipantWhat about making the facemask penalty into a coaches challenge as well? Just saying

Two-year deal for LB Clay Matthews with the #Rams worth a max of $16.75 million, source says. He had more lucrative offers on the table but he just welcomed his third child and really wanted to play close to home. Plus, a shot at another ring doesn’t hurt.I hope Clay is worth the money? Let’s hope he still has something left in the tank. Clay is 33 years old, so he is not a young guy. $16.75 Million, for for Clay at this stage of his career is a risk, but I’m believing McVay and Snead know what they are doing. I would have gone after a RG, so I don’t have to see Austin Blythe in that position again.

March 20, 2019 at 12:40 am in reply to: Mock drafts & rankings (March & early April) (w/ Brugler's top 100 etc) #99132JackPMillerParticipantThere is talk that the Giants could wait to draft a QB, and they like Daniel Jones to get him, and if still there at by the time we pick at 31, they may want to try trade with us to get him, because they fear the Patriots may draft him at 32.
March 18, 2019 at 9:51 pm in reply to: Mock drafts & rankings (March & early April) (w/ Brugler's top 100 etc) #99078JackPMillerParticipantNot sold on the top 3. Tillery, is a mid 2nd rounder at best, that you can trade down and get. Ximines is a mid-4th rounder, so a trade down for him as well. Dean is a 5th round pick. Pratt I’m iffy on, meaning back and forth, but he could be used on special teams, but I do love the final 3 picks, of Redwine, Stidham, and Hyatt.
JackPMillerParticipantHow about Jay Bromley?
http://www.nfl.com/player/jaybromley/2543860/profile
Bromley is still out there, he is considered 6’3″ 314. Bromley 26 years old, played for both the Giants and Saints, won’t cost much, maybe $1 Million at most, and would provide nice depth. Wonder if the Rams are looking at him as well as a possibility?

March 13, 2019 at 2:43 am in reply to: 2019 NFL draft big Boards & Mocks & other all-purpose draft stuff #98920JackPMillerParticipantThis guy is on crack. I don’t want to go through his terrible top 100. He gets paid? Jeesh.
JackPMillerParticipantI’m assuming Notebloom plays LG with Saffold moving on, so I hope we can still sign a Guard though, like a DJ Fluker, who won’t be expensive, is 330 and play RG.
JackPMillerParticipantIf we draft Tillery, he better get to the QB from his DE spot. The only edge rusher on this time that we have that is a legit pass rusher is Fowler. Edge(Pass) Rushers are drafted early, like 1st and 2nd round, not later.
- This reply was modified 5 years, 8 months ago by JackPMiller.
JackPMillerParticipantI don’t care about his injury from last year, what about the years before that? To me, Tillery never stood out through out his career.
March 12, 2019 at 2:45 am in reply to: Well, you can cross Wheaties off as an acceptable breakfast option… #98839JackPMillerParticipantI like these alot
JackPMillerParticipantJack, you left NT out of your post.
I really like Ed Alexander of LSU. We should be able to get him with our 3rd round pick. Alexander is 6’3″ 331.
- This reply was modified 5 years, 8 months ago by JackPMiller.
JackPMillerParticipantTillery is nowhere near Aaron Donald or Chris Jones. Those guys were special coming out. Tillery is a late 2nd round pick, that you can find players that are just as good as him or better in the later round. We will have to rely on our Aaron Donald and Fowler to get to the QB. After that, we will need CB blitzes, and Safety blitzes. That is if we don’t get an Edge(pass) rusher early. We don’t have anyone else on the roster, and it is difficult to get
This is my 10 top rankings of Edge Rushers
1. Nick Bosa 6’3″ 265 Ohio State
2. Montez Sweat 6’6″ 252 Mississippi State
3. Josh Allen 6’4″ 250 Kentucky
4. Clelin Ferrell 6’5″ 265 Clemson
5. Jachai Polite 6’2″ 260 Florida
6. Jaylon Ferguson 6’4″ 256 Louisiana Tech
7. Brian Burns 6’5″ 230 Florida State
8. Oshane Ximines 6’3″ 241 Old Dominion
9. Chase Winovich 6’2″ 250 Michigan
10. D’Andre Walker 6’2″ 251 GeorgiaAfter you get through the top 7, you are not going to get a legit pass rusher from the Edge.
JackPMillerParticipantI want Tillery. Everyone else wants the fat kid.
We do need a NT. Tillery can’t play NT. He is too light too play NT. Plus, he is not a 1st rounder. Tillery is not a top 50 player. I posted my top 50 players of the draft awhile ago. If the Rams want Tillery, they would have to trade down to late in the 2nd round.
<span class=”d4pbbc-font-color” style=”color: blue”>I take Tillery and don’t look back. I go on my own stuff. If I need a NT, I can get a NT later in the draft. Besides that, Wade doesn’t even play a traditional 2-gap system.</span>
31 is reach for Tillery. Outside of Fowler, the only one that can legitimately rush the passer is Aaron Donald. You have some Edge Rushers, but too many that are pass rushers. There are players like Tillery you can get later in the later rounds. Edge(Pass) Rushers you can’t get them later. You have to get them early.

There may be Edge rushers, but they are not strong pass rushers.

March 11, 2019 at 2:18 pm in reply to: Jags cut Malik Jackson, DE who played for Wade in Denver (2015) #98782JackPMillerParticipantEagles signed Malik Jackson 3 years $30 Million. No details on guaranteed money yet.
JackPMillerParticipantCould happen, but we only have 5 defensive linemen. I am probably more for keeping Brockers than most.
Saving 10.25 Million though. There are some really good DEs later in the draft. My gut is telling me, we are trading down in the draft.
JackPMillerParticipant$14 million, I consider that a bit high, but it is just one year.
I’m looking at Michael Brockers to be traded or cut. Me thinks the reason Brockers has not been cut, is the Rams may have some trades to evaluate. Just a thought.
JackPMillerParticipantLast night, the #Rams agreed to terms with pass-rusher Dante Fowler Jr. on a 1-year deal worth $14M, source said. The former 1st rounder gets another year with the team that traded for him at roughly the amount that the fifth-year option would’ve been, then can hit the market. 💰

March 10, 2019 at 1:28 am in reply to: The A. Brown saga … Buffalo? … 3/10 update: it's AB to the Raiders #98704JackPMillerParticipantAnd Gruden won’t have a defense because Bell and Brown will eat up tons of cap space. Not sure what they can give up for Murray, since the Raiders given their 3rd & 5th round picks for Brown. Unless it is three 1st round picks, and two 2nd round picks which would be stupid.

Report: Antonio Brown traded to the Oakland Raiders
By John Newby
15 minutes agoThis time, the move appears to be happening.
Late Thursday night, news broke that the Pittsburgh Steelers had traded Antonio Brown to the Buffalo Bills. This set social media ablaze and brought about questions of how Brown would pair with quarterback Josh Allen. There was also the added twist of the trade taking place on the 10-year anniversary of Terrell Owens signing with the Bills.
However, the trade ultimately fell through, and Brown was once again waiting to hear his future. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that there had been talks between the Bills and Steelers for a potential Brown deal, his sources told him that a deal was “unlikely” at the time. According to another source of his, the story of Buffalo pursuing Brown was “dead on Wednesday,” and that a trade would not be happening. On the overall Brown front, Schefter reported that nothing was close and that getting a deal done by Friday as the team had originally hoped appeared unlikely.
Well, Brown officially has a team. According to Antonio Brown himself, the Oakland Raiders have agreed to trade terms with the Steelers to acquire the dynamic receiver. This move is far more understandable considering that the Raiders check all the boxes on Brown’s list of requirements.
Obviously, the Raiders have the quarterback in Derek Carr, and the money to bring Brown to town. The only other question heading into the trade was whether the locker room would be prepared to take care of any issues that arise. Fortunately, there are some veterans on the team, such as Jordy Nelson, that can be a voice of reason when needed. Plus, Gruden is a truly big fan of Brown. Just look at the comments he made before the Raiders victory over the Steelers last season.
“He can run every route you dream up,” Gruden said back in early December. “I say that about other receivers but he can run double moves, he can run by you, he can run crossing routes, he’s very good after the catch. What’s the greatest thing about this man? I’ve told all of our receivers, if you get a chance to watch him practice, you’ll see what unlocks the greatness in him. He’s the hardest working man, I think, in football. Hardest working player I’ve ever seen practice. I’ve seen Jerry Rice, I’ve seen a lot of good ones, but I put Antonio Brown at the top. If there are any young wideouts out there, I’d go watch him practice. You figure out yourself why he’s such a good player.”
While a trade had been rumored for months, the actual idea of sending Brown to another team appeared to be far-fetched. Some days, he would send out hints on social media that he wanted out of town but would reiterate his love for the team on other occasions. However, the situation changed after a series of incidents that drove a wedge between Brown and the team.
The 31-year-old wideout broke into the NFL in 2010 as a sixth-round draft pick. Brown introduced himself to many fans after making a crucial catch in Pittsburgh’s playoff victory over Baltimore during the 2010 postseason that helped propel the Steelers to Super Bowl XLV. Brown broke into the starting lineup for the first time in 2011, earning Pro Bowl honors that season while also winning the first of his four team MVP awards.
Brown’s remarkable run of statistical success started in 2013 when he caught 110 passes for 1,499 yards (both franchise records) and eight touchdowns. Brown followed that campaign up with a 129-catch, 1,698-yard, 13-touchdown 2014 season that helped the Steelers win the AFC North division for the first time since his rookie season. Brown had a season for the ages in 2015, catching 136 passes for 1,834 yards and 10 scores while helping Pittsburgh defeat the Cincinnati Bengals in the wild-card round of the AFC playoffs.
Steelers president Art Rooney II rewarded Brown with a four-year extension at the end of the 2016 season, a season that saw Brown catch 12 touchdowns during the regular season while helping Pittsburgh reach the AFC Championship. Brown responded with his best season to date in 2017, catching 101 passes for 1,533 yards and nine touchdowns despite missing most of the final there games with a lower-body injury. Despite being less than 100 percent, Brown returned for Pittsburgh’s divisional round playoff game against Jacksonville, catching seven passes for 132 yards and two scores in the Steelers’ 45-42 defeat.
While he continued to pile up numbers in 2018 (he finished the season with 104 receptions for 1,297 yards and a league-best 15 touchdowns), something seemed off with Brown throughout the season. He lashed out at two reporters during training camp, then wrote “trade me” on Twitter in response to former Steelers’ staffer that said that Brown’s success was largely due to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Brown also had several contentious moments with local media during Pittsburgh’s locker room availability.
Brown’s frustration boiled over during Week 17 when he forced Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin to bench him for the team’s final game against the Bengals after failing to properly communicate with him during the two days prior to the game. Brown publicly criticized the team during the first two months of the 2018 offseason while publicly requesting a trade. Brown did have a cordial meeting with Rooney in February after the two sides agreed that a breakup would be best for both parties.
“Thanks for the opportunity,” Brown recently told ESPN when he was asked what he told Rooney when the two sides met last month. “Thanks for giving a 21-year-old kid the opportunity to live his dream and to experience the NFL really at a high level. By me playing for the Steelers, that gave me an opportunity for everyone to know who I am. Gave me an opportunity to not only bless my family but bless everyone around me.
“I’ll always be a Steeler. I’ll always be able to come back and share love and be a part of history in some sort of regard. I’m super grateful, honored to have been a part of such a great organization. To learn about the ecosystem and how they run business and the feeling I got from the fans. That feeling will never be replaced. When I run into that stadium, that feeling they gave me was second to none.”
With Brown now in a new situation, he will look to prove that he is still the superstar receiver, even without Roethlisberger throwing him passes. The Raiders, on the other hand, will begin to fantasize about the heights that this offense can reach with Brown and Carr pairing together for big plays.
JackPMillerParticipantI plan on seeing it. I really liked Get Out and Blackkklansman.
Spike Lee did Blackklansman, not Jordan Peele. Peele did Get Out.
JackPMillerParticipantI hope Brockers takes Suh’s spot, but adds some weight in the off-season. I think he played too slim last year.
I’m also hoping they draft Dexter Lawrence from Clemson, and work him into the rotation. He’s my first choice for #31, with Brian Burns being the second. Unfortunately, it may well be that both players are already gone.
I’ll be disappointed if they go Safety or Center there, unless the players at those spots are the obvious BPA/value. Would rather they fix those issues via FA, though.
Want the Rams to get lucky and find an elite-level DT or Edge. IMO, the draft is the best way to get there and, generally speaking, the least costly.
I doubt Lawrence or Burns drops to us. I like Burns myself, because he play Inside and Outside LB.
JackPMillerParticipantThe next one we are waiting on is Michael Brockers to be cut.
