InvaderRamModeratorGuessing your kiddin.
yours would be the dream. mine would be the nightmare.
hahahaha. yeah. i’m kidding.
InvaderRamModeratorThe wicked witch is dead!!
well. at least until 2024. biden trump II – trump lives.
InvaderRamModeratorMcVay and Goff have to do better.
yeah. that’s really what this comes down to. mcvay and goff.
InvaderRamModeratoroffense is worse than i thought it would be.
defense is better than i thought it would be.
special teams are a dumpster fire.
overall the rams are slightly worse than i thought they would be. i didn’t think they’d be capable of the huge brain fart they had to end the first half of the season. i mean what a disaster.
i still think goff is capable of being a top 10 qb. with this defense and this running game, i think goff is capable of leading this team.
i wonder how the second half of the season goes for this defense. they’re already ranked number one overall in total yards at this point. but i think they can get better. they can get better in run defense and better in the pass rush. when i think of the rams, i think mostly about robinson and lewis. and what kind of contributions they can make in the second half of the season. robinson especially. just loads of potential. loads of power and athleticism. the rams defense hasn’t really had anyone like him since possibly suh. but suh was near the end of his career. robinson is only 25 but has disappointed so far. was he playing the wrong system? is the system to unlock his talents? i’ll be curious to find out. but i also like lewis. he’s a rookie so expectations should be tempered. but at the same time, i could see him making a bigger impact as the season wears on.
InvaderRamModeratorsean and jared. they screwed it up. miami had no business being in this game except for the stupid decisions made by those 2. unbelievable. but. i think they can learn from this. i think they will learn from this.
I don’t think McVay will learn. He has been consistently pass happy lately.
He planned to pass against the Niners. And it failed miserably.
That was his plan against the Bears. And the Rams got lucky. That was a 10-3 game when Kahlil Mack sacked Goff and forced a fumble on 3rd and 2. If the Bears recovered that ball, that game could have been completely different.
The Washington game was kinda similar, but their offense was so terrible that day that the Rams pass happy approach didn’t matter.
well. i’m not completely convinced.
the rams are 4th the nfl in rushing attempts per game. so i’m not sure what happened. but i wouldn’t characterize mcvay as pass happy necessarily. maybe a result of just thinking too much? i have no idea.
the one thing that gives me hope is mcvay i believe has only been calling plays since he got to the rams. he never called plays when he was with washington. so. i have no idea how what kind of learning curve there is as a playcaller.
or maybe mcvay has to hand over playcalling duties.
but i definitely don’t think you get rid of him.

InvaderRamModeratorwell. at least for one week. the rams’ defense is number one in total yards.
November 2, 2020 at 7:54 pm in reply to: on Staley & the NUMBER ONE RATED defense … VERY updated #123761
InvaderRamModeratori’m not yet convinced this is a top 5 defense. they’re 6th in yards allowed and 2nd in points allowed.
i’m still somehow not convinced though. i think they’re a good defense. i don’t know that they are a top 5 defense.
i hope i’m wrong. and i do think they have the potential to get better still.
hmmm… i may have to rethink my stance.
also. if the giants put up 297 yards of total offense on the bucs tonight, the rams become the number one defense in the nfl.
now… that’s a tall order to ask of the giants. they’re horrible. they only average 282 yards of total offense…
InvaderRamModeratorGoodLord, are you kidding me. WTF.
——————-
“…They outgained the Dolphins 471 to 145, had 31 first downs to Miami’s eight, averaged 5.1 yards per play compared to only 3.0 for the Dolphins, and converted on seven of their 17 third-down attempts. The Dolphins, on the other hand, were 3-for-12 on third down…”yeah.
sean and jared. they screwed it up. miami had no business being in this game except for the stupid decisions made by those 2. unbelievable. but. i think they can learn from this. i think they will learn from this.
it happens. but no way do i get rid of either of them. rams can’t possibly be that stupid.
InvaderRamModeratortrying to look at the bright side.
rams defense is now #2 in yards allowed.
#4 in rushing yards allowed.
#2 in passing yards allowed.#4 in points allowed (well… tied for #3 with kansas city). and only half a point per game from being #1.
pretty impressive. half the season officially in the books.
i’m still waiting for the seattle game. arizona game could be a challenge too. both ranked #1 and #2 in total offense.

InvaderRamModeratorbad 🐟 🌮.
defense was excellent. running game was tough. passing game and special teams let the team down.
InvaderRamModeratorDL A’Shawn Robinson is INACTIVE for today’s game against the Dolphins
noooooooooooooooooooo
InvaderRamModeratorGary Klein@LATimesklein
Aaron Donald on pace to possibly join Lawrence Taylor and J.J. Watt as three-time NFL defensive player of year winners.that would be so cool.

InvaderRamModeratorrams should win this right? a little worried it will be a tougher game than it should be.
excited to see robinson finally activated. probably minimal snaps this sunday though.
InvaderRamModeratorThis is Goff’s first year with this level of control over the offense. Prior to this, he was McVay’s puppet doing whatever his earpiece told him to do. Now he has more control and has a much longer leash. He’s still a work in progress learning to read defenses. But when you put his play into that context, Jared is doing very well and will only get better with experience.
Goff is a true franchise QB in every sense of the word. Snead chose right between Goff and Wentz. Goff continues to validate the Ram’s choice and is every bit of a franchise QB. This has allowed the FO to build a complete team around him on both sides of the ball. Everything points to Goff becoming a complete QB and having a very long and successful career.
i think goff’s ceiling is a top 10 caliber qb. he’ll never be consistent enough or good enough against pressure to be a top 5 qb.
he’s in his fifth year. i think he’s getting ready to plateau. but that’s not a knock on goff. he’s a good qb. and the chances of finding a top 5 qb to replace goff are just not realistic. he can take the rams to a superbowl. well. he already has. but he can get us to one and win one. it’d be cool if it was this season.
InvaderRamModeratorI don’t understand why he was valued so highly.
didn’t he and sean both go to miami of ohio?
hahahaha!
InvaderRamModeratorhe really stuck out this last game.
InvaderRamModeratorwell.
it had to be done. it was getting to the point where i just plain felt bad for him.

InvaderRamModeratori really like this running attack.
brown and hendo are both solid and tough.
burgess looked good today. but i’m bummed about his injury.
InvaderRamModeratorThe way I see it, the Rams have at least 4 or 6 guys that will help the defense before the year is over. That is A’shawn, Lewis, Hollins, Burgess, Polite, and Long.
yeah. i’m not sure about long. i like him, but i thought he would have made an impact by now. i guess that just shows the depth of that secondary.
but i think especially at linebacker, there’s lots of players who could emerge.
InvaderRamModeratori hope a’shawn plays.
October 22, 2020 at 8:25 pm in reply to: McVay: A’Shawn Robinson could make Rams debut vs. Bears on Monday night #123305
InvaderRamModeratori really am excited. i agree with mcvay. he provides something the other dlinemen on the rams cannot. size and power.
needless to say i hope this works out.
October 21, 2020 at 8:52 pm in reply to: The Rams have designated DT A’Shawn Robinson for return #123281
InvaderRamModeratorRams could use the help.
i’m hopeful. i thought i read somewhere that when the coaching staff at detroit was overhauled robinson became a casualty due to system fit.
who knows? but this is a massive massive dude. he’s got length. he’s powerful. he’s only 25 years old.
InvaderRamModeratoris sam sloman still on the roster?

InvaderRamModeratorTerrell Lewis played the first 14 snaps of his career last week & it was good to see him out there. Used a long-arm on his best rep. His reaction afterwards is about how close he was to a sack. I’ll be watching him closely going forward. Rams DL could use an edge to emerge.
wow. the speed and the power and the explosion. just seems different compared to any of the other pass rushers the rams have. i hope this works out.
InvaderRamModeratori gotta say. i really enjoyed listening to this one.
InvaderRamModeratorDoes Donald make that list?
he has to finish his career first. he’s less than halfway there.
longevity is the only question with donald at this point. but everything else is there.
but i’m not an expert or anything. i just watch donald, and i find it impossible to believe that there are 10 defensive linemen out there who are/were better than him.
i saw that you listed 8 so far. 2 of them being merlin and deacon. it’d be wild if donald made that list. that’s crazy. and i’m sure youngblood would make some people’s lists.
InvaderRamModeratorDeacon, Merlin, Aaron Donald, Jack Youngblood.
Can any NFL team match that?
garsh.
i have no clue.
gil brandt who does know a little about football.
he ranks deacon #2 and youngblood #8 all time.
he ranks donald #13 and merlin #3 all time.
this was written just 3 years into donald’s career. i imagine donald would be higher up this list.
my guess just looking at lists online. minnesota or dallas. but merlin, deacon, and jack are just so revered. universally. and aaron is right behind them. he just hasn’t put in the years yet. he’s only in his seventh year. a lot of these defensive tackles played 13-14 seasons. he’s got a long way to go.
just looking at tackles minnesota has page and randle. dallas has lilly and white.
minnesota has carl eller and chris doleman at defensive end. dallas has… haley. but i don’t think he holds up against the rams’ defensive ends.
donald can if he plays long enough at a high caliber. i think it ceases to become an argument. but right now minnesota has them. 5 more high caliber seasons donald has to put in.
InvaderRamModeratorThat’s insane to me. I never, ever believed it was possible for a interior defensive lineman to be this productive.
now there are some great dlineman to have put on a rams uniform. just crazy that donald belongs in the same conversation as them.
InvaderRamModeratortheir run defense is not stout
just popped into my head what impact robinson would be able to make when he gets back.
