InvaderRamModerator
i don’t know but this loss was unacceptable. i’ve only watched a little over a half but penalties, turnovers, missed passes, and allowing two big plays… the rams are shooting themselves in the foot so far. foles and robinson in particular are horrendous.
InvaderRamModeratoris welker just that good or is the passing game just that bad? will have to watch later but excited to see wes.
InvaderRamModeratorthey’re healthier. they should be able to beat them. without welker.
InvaderRamModeratori’ve been reading about the kid from north carolina marquise williams. i don’t see him on many draft boards, but some think he’s got potential. he’s a 2 way quarterback but he’s supposed to have some passing skills.
November 13, 2015 at 4:10 pm in reply to: "While visiting family & friends I met a scout who did some work for the Rams" #34065InvaderRamModeratori don’t think this is a superbowl team although i think they’re capable of making the playoffs.
InvaderRamModeratorthe only thing i’m hoping for at this point is if there’s any way welker can unlock tavon’s potential as a slot receiver.
otherwise he’s done pretty well i think. and he and gurley have something special going right now. i’m willing to bet that the rams have been number one in the league in rushing since gurley’s arrival as a full time starter, and part of that is due to tavon’s abilities.
now if he could ever learn to play slot receiver.
i remember when stephen davis came to the rams and the influence he had on jackson. could welker have a similar influence on tavon?

InvaderRamModeratorwell continuity on offense is a big problem. they pretty much blew up the offensive line and qbs and changed the offensive coordinator in one offseason.
that can’t be overlooked. i would still be looking at qbs in the draft this year. and foles has a couple years to try and get settled in. i’m guessing fisher will give him enough time.
InvaderRamModeratorQuinn is a key in this game. He owned the Bears’ LT last time they played. If the Rams get pressure on Cutler, who has actually been protected very well this year, I foresee a 23-10 type of game. I think Gurley will get his yards, and put an exclamation point on this game at the end. Donald could also disrupt the Bears all by himself. I’m feeling good. But, the Rams don’t have a good enough offense to ever feel too good about winning. It’s a little early for Welker to make much of a difference, but I guess if he can give them just 2-3 first downs, that would be a wonderful accomplishment.
yeah i think you’re right. hopefully, those first downs from welker are on third downs.
InvaderRamModeratori’ve been wondering lately if the players realize exactly how bad the passing game is right now. and if they do how much more pressure does that put on them knowing how the other facets of this team are going.
if nothing else could welker. possibly one of the fiercest competitors in recent memory. inject some confidence into this unit? or maybe he’s just got nothing left. i mean the only thing that could derail this season was the passing offense. it’s gotta be messing with their minds at this point.
the one thing that they shoulda done was add more leadership to those units. from the beginning. instead they got kenny britt leading this unit. yikes.
instead they got a first year coordinator, first year qb coach, unproven qb, young wr corps, youngest oline in league…
so on one hand should we be surprised? well considering the above no. but can we be critical and say more veteran leadership should have been installed? i think so.
InvaderRamModeratorand let me add that was WITHOUT havenstein. possibly their best offensive lineman?
InvaderRamModeratoras good as the vikings run d was the rams did get 160 rushing yards on 35 carries or something like that for a 4.4 ypc average… with no run going over 20 yards. in a close game with no passing threat to speak of…
yeah. running attack is legit. but a historically bad passing offense. sigh…
InvaderRamModeratorthey’re playing at home and hopefully a little healthier.
InvaderRamModeratorI wouldn’t do it if I had his concussion history.
yeah.
Well, i think he wanted to be
able to say, he played with three
Hall of Fame Quarterbacks.w
vdon’t be silly. manning’s no hall of famer…
InvaderRamModeratorI wouldn’t do it if I had his concussion history.
yeah.
InvaderRamModeratoryou’re right in that he has built winning teams. multiple times.
now the problem i have is people saying fire him but with no answer after that. i don’t agree with just making a change for the sake of making a change. if for example a coughlin or a belichik became available sure i can see making a change.
but going from fisher to just another guy would be pointless. i’ve said in the past i would consider replacing him but only if a viable candidate was present.
i mean there’s only so many great coaching candidates out there.
InvaderRamModeratorit’d be nice if welker could teach austin how to play the slot. i think austin is tough enough. so maybe it’s just getting a feel for it? learning how to read the defense? i don’t know.
November 10, 2015 at 7:48 pm in reply to: No playoffs this year (reactions to the Vikes game) #33919InvaderRamModeratori don’t really have a problem with the 2 point attempt. zeurlein missed a fg going into the wind. so who knows what woulda happened especially with the new rule.
i do have a problem with getting near the end zone and not scoring touchdowns. 5 field goal attempts. if just one of those goes for a td the rams win. and yeah i agree with ag that he got too conservative playing for a tie. that’s my main criticism having thought about it for awhile.
they need to get better on third down and they need to get more aggressive when they’ve got scoring opportunities. don’t settle for field goals. be smart but be aggressive. i thought fisher got way too conservative there a couple times when they could have gone for touchdowns.

InvaderRamModeratori’m guessing gurley missed havenstein too.
InvaderRamModeratorthe only thing about christian hackenberg is he seems to be all potential at this point. just very raw. i’ve never seen him play, so i’m just going off what i’ve read. and stats. he’s never completed more than 60% of his passes in a season. 56.5% for his career. career ypa of 6.9. those are not pro qb numbers.
InvaderRamModeratormore importantly maybe welker can teach these young receivers something. i don’t think there’s a leader in that receiver corps. definitely don’t think it’s britt.
i think this could work out. but i worry about his head. he had 3 concussions in less than a year.
InvaderRamModeratorhey. maybe they’ll run some slant routes now???
ha!
InvaderRamModeratorwes? i mean shoot. he’s like a better but older and concussed version of amendola. i like it!
i just hope he stays healthy.
InvaderRamModeratorreally like Mannion. I wanted the Rams to draft him. I like Cook better.
As for the draft, I can see Hackenberg dropping. How far? He has all the physical tools. Is he the QB you want? I could see throwing Philly’s draft choice at him.
this passing offense stinks. we can come up with very legitimate reasons as to why this passing offense stinks. and we’ve gone over them many times over. but this passing offense stinks.
i’m still waiting for the season to end, but if i’m snead, i’m scouting qbs extra hard this year. ha!
gotta get this right. can’t let all this talent go to waste.
InvaderRamModeratorthat’s funny coming from rodney harrison.
nevertheless. there’s always going to be questions. especially from a gregg williams coached defense. but like i said before, i admire joyner. he came into this league with a good reputation. and i tend to believe that he wasn’t trying to be dirty.
InvaderRamModeratorJoyner said he did not try to hurt Bridgewater, adding: “I know that guy. I grew up across the railroad tracks from him. My mom knows his mom. My dad knows his mom. I would never intentionally do a dirty play like that on Teddy Bridgewater.
i believe him. joyner comes across as a good guy. i believe he was just playing physical. nothing more. unless i find out something different.
InvaderRamModeratorneeded a healthy defense. missing best defensive end. best safety.
still gotta wait until end of season, but foles is looking like a liability.
InvaderRamModeratorhmmm. excited to see alexander play. williams had nothing but good things to say about him but maybe cuz he’s trying to pump him up.
majorly bummed about quinn. i feel like the defense is gonna have to play lights out if the rams want to win.
InvaderRamModeratorhappy birthday, herzog.
November 7, 2015 at 11:46 am in reply to: Tedy Bruschi: How tough are the Patriots? Not as tough as the Rams #33703InvaderRamModeratorInteresting. There is only one elite team in the top 10 (Pats) and there are 4 losing teams in the top 10.
I guess ‘toughness’ (as Bruschi defines it) isn’t that important.
or at least toughness alone won’t get you to the playoffs.
kind of sickens me that the pats are not only a “tough” team but have a hall of fame quarterback and a sophisticated offense to go with it.
November 6, 2015 at 8:24 pm in reply to: Tedy Bruschi: How tough are the Patriots? Not as tough as the Rams #33682InvaderRamModeratori don’t watch much of the other teams, but the rams do come across as a very tough team.
now if only they could figure out the passing game…
