i don’t know what grubman is trying to say but i read one thing that makes sense. having a team in los angeles will be key when negotiating a new tv deal. i think that’s what the owners are ultimately banking on rather than the real estate project around the stadium.
it will also act as a home base for nfl west with nfl films and the combine (after the contract expires with indianapolis) and the draft and superbowls.
We’ll see how this affects TV ratings. I’m not 100% sure they will go up. But, if it was inevitable that an L.A. team would get the NFL a better TV contract, that’s not really an argument for SK’s vision as it was for moving any viable team into L.A.
true but i think the owners also wanted the shinier toy.

InvaderRamModeratorPassing game cant get any worse,
right?Thats all i got.
w
vprobably not although i’m afraid to ask.
most of all they need to get a legit quarterback. that’ll probably take care of a lot of problems.

January 24, 2016 at 3:45 pm in reply to: Rams source: “Likely” Rob Boras becomes permanent offensive coordinator #38001InvaderRamModeratori’m wondering if it’s going to be hard to hire coaches until after they’ve settled into los angeles. i mean they don’t even know where the training facilities are going to be yet.

the only thing about candlestick park was that some of the seating was a little awkward with it being a baseball stadium and everything. but otherwise a fine stadium especially for watching baseball.

January 24, 2016 at 10:43 am in reply to: Can St. Louis Rams PSL Holders Buy L.A. Season Tickets & other StL PSL isssues #37979InvaderRamModeratori like the coliseum. i know i’m in the minority here, but it’s got charm and loads of history and it’s right smack in the middle of los angeles – inglewood is close but it’s not in the heart of los angeles.
just needs to be cleaned up a little but i have no interest in corporate luxury suites or what not or 100 yard flat screen tvs. and most games i’ll be watching at home anyways.
January 24, 2016 at 10:12 am in reply to: Can St. Louis Rams PSL Holders Buy L.A. Season Tickets & other StL PSL isssues #37974InvaderRamModeratori’d like to see the fans win for once.
cuz we know this move ain’t for the fans including the los angeles fans.
besides i think it’d be awesome if the rams had to play at the coliseum for the next ten years! ha!
InvaderRamModeratorLooks like the Rams could get something pretty good in the 2nd round at WR if they don’t have the right guy waiting for them in the 1st.
doesn’t sound like the right receiver or right qb is going to be there when the rams pick.

January 23, 2016 at 11:48 am in reply to: Donald Named 2016 Pro Bowl Captain & yet MORE Donald recognition #37926InvaderRamModeratornice. just need to get quinn back on track.
InvaderRamModeratori became a fan in 1995 when the rams moved to st. louis. and i continued being a rams fan after i moved away. now i’m in los angeles, so i’m in a weird position where i started out as a st louis rams fan and now they’re coming to los angeles.
in the end, i don’t think it would matter where they went. but it is convenient that they are in my hometown.
InvaderRamModerator“…it’s fair to wonder how difficult it will be for them to add to their staff with Fisher entering the fifth and final year of his contract.”
Gee thats so obvious
but i never thot of it.w
vYeah, but it depends on the contract they offer Shurmur. Or anyone else. Are they guaranteed money? For how long? Is it tied to Fisher’s deal?
Fisher isn’t going anywhere. In fact, I will be surprised if he isn’t extended before the end of the season.
Really? An extension before the end of the season?
I suppose so, but only if he has a winning record
after ten games or so.w
vA big part of Fisher’s credentials in Stan’s eyes is that he moved from Houston, to Memphis, to Nashville.
He isn’t going to fire Fisher one year into Los Angeles.
that makes sense.
InvaderRamModeratorsuddenly i’m feeling like 2016 is going to be more of the same.
InvaderRamModeratorthey should televise the moment kroenke realizes he isn’t going to see any of that psl money.
InvaderRamModeratordemoff said in the latest interview that they’re mulling it over.
seems hard to bring grass in considering the stadium will be built underground.
It wouldn’t be hard. Below ground level doesn’t make any difference. They would build a substructure with a drainage system and however they are going to irrigate, pour soil over the top of it, and then roll out the grass and let it grow.
from what i understand with that weird plastic roof they have, you can’t grow the grass on the field while it’s in the stadium. they’d have to have a system to bring the grass in similar to what university of phoenix stadium has where it’s rolled outside the stadium and allowed to grow. of course with the estimated 3 billion in costs for this stadium. that probably isn’t a big deal. i’d want real grass.

InvaderRamModeratorthey probably won’t, but i hope they win. that would be hilarious.
InvaderRamModeratori’d put that team against any other all-time team in the nfl.
InvaderRamModeratorthey don’t yet know if they’ll be using turf or grass for the new stadium.
i assumed they were using turf.
InvaderRamModeratordo i want to see the rams on hard knocks? i’d lean towards no. don’t think it’d be that interesting anyway. and if they were on, i’d be too curious not to watch it.
InvaderRamModeratoryes. thank you, rm, and i hope you had a wonderful birthday.
January 20, 2016 at 10:16 pm in reply to: Pro Football Writers of America name Gurley Offensive Rookie of the Year #37774InvaderRamModeratorwherever the rams play, it’s gonna be a whole helluva lot of fun watching guys like gurley and donald develop over the years.
InvaderRamModeratorI heard from a local media person on a radio show that Shaw added the “top tier” clause as almost a last-second addendum and pretty much expected it to be rejected, and he was surprised when it was accepted.
Well if thats true..just…Wow.
Someone should write a book about
the clause. Or ‘Claws”Other than the “Tackle” I’d say
the “Clause” was the biggest
event in St.Louis Rams history.w
vthey really should make a documentary about this. starting from the move in 1995 to the move back in 2016.
InvaderRamModeratorrams before the move were valued at 930 million in 2014. after this move they are now valued at 2.9 billion dollars. cowboys are first at 4.0 billion.
InvaderRamModeratori do worry that these rams will not do well with all the extra pressure that comes with moving to the second largest media market in the states.
InvaderRamModeratorok. just as i read this article. another article claims cowboys’ stadium generated $420 million in 2014.
InvaderRamModeratori don’t know about the inglewood stadium, but staples center is the #1 sports venue in the united states. earns $345 million a year in revenue as of 2014.
InvaderRamModeratorI believe he left it behind,
up the ass of St. Louis.True. But this is Still Amerika.
In this land we brag about our conquests.
I would think the Kronk-atorium would
have a giant statue of a golden horn
up the ass of St.Louis.And if you dont want that kind of statue
maybe you should just go back to
green bay or some other socialist country.w
vyou are truly nefarious.
InvaderRamModeratori do wonder if they’ll have statues of rams legends.
ya know. like deacon jones, merlin olsen…
I notice you didn’t mention a Massey statue. I’ll assume it was implied…
i was going to add massey but i fear that kroenke will eliminate any remaining evidence of the st louis rams.
if you go on the welcomehomerams.com website you’ll notice they omit the st louis years from the history. i realize it’s a welcome la rams but still. they should find some way to recognize those guys at some point.

InvaderRamModeratori’m not sure they were any better than they were last year. but i do believe the team is close to a breakthrough. of course i believed that last year as well.
