If Dallas Turner is there at #19, the Rams should pounce.

i would love for that to happen, but i think he’s gone by then. they’d have to trade up to get him.

as far as defensive backs. someone’s gonna slip. i still like cooper dejean and it seems like he’s a prime candidate to slip down the draft. it might be better for the rams to trade down and keep accumulating draft picks.

one thing i could see them doing. if they are interested in taliese fuaga. they probably have to trade up for him. but if they were to draft him then they let dotson go. plug fuaga at right guard. hav at right tackle. alaric at left tackle. sign him to a multi-year contract. avila at left guard. shelton at center. and what i like about it is you plug fuaga at rg but then he’s a logical candidate to replace hav the next year. his combine tape looks amazing. very quick. supposedly very impressive in interviews.

How does them signing Dotson impact your thinking on this?

i don’t think they go this route anymore. most likely draft a prospect in the lower rounds. i’m now leaning toward edge rusher, cornerback, wide receiver. i’m not as high on latu as some people are. but what do i know? and projections right now are leaning that way.

i like chop robinson. he’s toolsy to borrow a term from baseball. i wouldn’t mind seeing a cornerback either. wide receiver would be out of left field but it might make sense long term.

i could see a scenario where rams draft powers-johnson. now THAT would be intriguing… what a potentially scary iol THAT would be.

I don’t know how long you have followed the Rams

    since 95 so 29 years.

i do remember in the past snead talking about building the oline from the inside out. but i was a little worried there for a minute. wasn’t sure they’d pull through trigger but i’m glad they did.

i just want to see avila continue to make progress on the left side. re-sign jackson. i don’t know what happens at center. maybe bring shelton back. maybe draft powers-johnson after a trade down?

Now they are shaping up to have a great IOL.

dare i say the greatest interior oline i’ve seen since watching the rams?

I think they need to upgrade both lines and corners first.

i agree. and it just so happens this is a good draft to do it.

there’s at least five tackles worthy of a first round pick and maybe 2 or 3 more who are worthy of a second round pick.  lots of talent.  i know the rams have at least interviewed taliese fuaga although he reads more like a right tackle prospect.  pff ranks him as the 12 best player in the draft.  OVERALL.  third best tackle prospect.  arms only 33″.  but maybe they plug him in at right guard to replace dotson and eventually right tackle with alaric and avila on the left side.  supposed to be a mauler in the run game.  he’s athletic.  ran a 5.13 40.  scouts do seem to think he can play either side.  so versatility is a plus.

Quinyon Mitchell* would be a great 1st rounder. Could be the Rams’ lock-down corner for years. But I’d take Dallas Turner, the edge rusher, before him, if he falls.

i would love to see those guys on the rams. but yeah. i don’t see them being available at 19. but who knows. maybe a trade up? personally i’d want turner.

the offensive tackles look really good. and there should be one available at 19.

it sounds like shelton is likely to come back so i’d prefer a tackle.

i read my previous post and it wasn’t very well written.

but if they do decide to move on from dotson the rams need to draft online early and often.

watching the combine right now. lots of talented olineman. amarius mims looks electric. wow. draft him in the first round if he gets that far.

The question is whether they want to.

that’s what i’m getting at. i’m sure they could. i’m worried they’re not willing to pay him what he demands.

i’m a little worried they won’t be able to keep dotson.

oline testing and drills at the combine today.

well one thing also about nacua.  he needs to somehow learn how to absorb less punishment.  like coop he tends to get banged up.  he got a little lucky last year in that he didn’t miss any games i don’t think.  but he was getting hit a lot.  and there were times you could see he was really hurting.  i don’t know if you can learn that or not.  but i do worry about his health.

and then yes.  the hands and the route running needs to be improved.  but those are things that can definitely be worked on.

yeah.  i imagine kupp gets healthy.  or at least healthier than last year.  robinson maintains his level of play from last year.  and i imagine that puka gets better.  so along with atwell the receivers are set.

higbee is gonna still be recovering at the beginning of the season.  so hopefully allen is ready.  rams should draft a tight end in later rounds for depth.

    still need a backup qb.

still need to settle on the oline.  looks like they plan on bringing shelton back.  haven’t heard anything yet on dotson or jackson.

    The Dodgers own LA.

i could not agree more. whether they suck or whether they’re good dodgers fans will always be there to support their team.

a lot of people say it’s a lakers town but it’s simply not true. i’ve been to lakers games when they sucked and it’s dead. the fans only truly show up when they’re winning championships. but the dodgers? i’ve never been to a dodger game and dodger fans don’t show up. part of it is i think the affordability of games. and the atmosphere. yes. dodger stadium is amazing. it’s great to go to during the summer. take in a game. just soak in all the people in the stadium hanging out and having a good time. drinking a beer. lakers are just a little less accessible. personally i’m not willing to throw down that much cash to see them play. yeah. i agree. there’s just something amazing about socal summers. catching a baseball game. and rams are even less accessible. too much money. it’s too hard to afford anything more than the occasional game every now and then. i bought season tickets the year they came back. but since then i’ve only been to one game because i had to see sofi. just an aside note. la coliseum is amazing. i love that stadium.

i did meet one man. rabid rams fan. had season tickets every year since they came back but followed them since he was a kid. but he hated the dodgers with a passion. i asked him why. apparently he was born and raised in chavez ravine. could never forgive them for taking his home from him.

LA has 2 NFL teams, 2 MLB, 2 NBA, 2 NHL, 2 MLS, 2 NCAA FB. Never mind all the non-sports attractions. That’s just the competition for sports identity.

as well as college sports. usc and ucla being the top two universities. but also pepperdine and others i’m probably forgetting.

but it’s not just the rams. whenever i go to the dodgers cardinals games in la there is a large contingent of cardinals fans. always. i’ve been there when the giants come to town and there’s a swath of giants fans attending. not quite to the degree of rams games but the dodgers are the dodgers. it would take a long time for the rams to reach that kind if status in this town.

you should definitely see a game there one day. i was fortunate enough to get a pair of tickets to the seahawks game. on the home side. but at the very back of the stadium. it was a very enjoyable experience. better than i thought it could be. and that monstrous screen does enhance the viewing experience for sure.

The #Rams are expected to hire Jerry Schuplinski as a senior offensive assistant, source said. He did excellent work developing Michael Mayer in the #Raiders TE room last season and has also coached QBs as well.

maybe he and caley can continue to develop davis allen. they’re gonna need him next season.

saw this on reddit. apparently scheelhaase was working with mostly freshmen his first year as a coordinator.

In Scheelhaase’s only season as offensive coordinator, the Cyclones averaged 26.2 points per game — up from 20.2 in 2022 — and went 7-6 overall in 2023, 6-3 in the Big 12 Conference.

Somebody here also mentioned it was with a bunch of freshmen.

i’m guessing that’s kind if an assistant head coach role? at least that’s what it sounded like when he was at tennessee. he was described as vrabel’s right hand man.

still need a qb coach/pass coordinator and lb coach. and an assistant st coach.
