InvaderRamModeratorWell, like most people here, I don’t think the Rams should sign Suh. However, that seems to be a minority opinion out in the Rams ‘twitterverse’ and on other social media sites.
i’m in the minority here. i would like to see him signed.
but i also realize that it all depends on the money. and except for a few tweets there’s no reason to believe he would take a discount. he might be willing to take a discount but there’s no reason for him to admit that at this point. and it’s a long shot anyway.
but i think it could work. we’ll see.
InvaderRamModeratorPretty obvious his $$ market hasn’t been to his liking
well that would go against what other reporters are saying.
if that’s the case i’d offer one year and the chance to win a ring.
but the most important thing is getting donald signed to an extension. stop messing around already.
InvaderRamModerator
InvaderRamModeratorOn with @Midday180, @Schultz_Report say indications from @NdamukongSuh are he will choose between #Saints, #Titans, #Rams and #Seahawks. All about chance to win, not money which is why he didn't talk money in New Orleans or Nashville.

good discussions over at the herd.
i agree with the people who say the only way this works is if he plays defensive end. and i think brockers goes back to nose.
but who even knows if suh can play the 5 technique? i’d bet he can. he’s superior athletically. has enough length. and is a sharp dude.

InvaderRamModeratorShort version: who knows, invader, you could be right.
and i could be wrong.
but it makes for good discussion i think.
ultimately i trust wade. and i gotta figure he at least thinks it’s not the worst idea in the world if he’s coming in for a visit.
InvaderRamModeratorbrockers not being a fit at nose tackle. i think there’s something to that as well.
i don’t know. i really don’t. did wade put him at end because he wasn’t a fit at nose or because he really needed him at end? regardless you have three guys who can play at multiple positions on the line and two who are elite level talents.
i gotta think wade gave an ok. and during the meeting coaches will go over scheme to see if it’s a match or if suh is even willing to do what would be asked of him.
and as far as money. maybe they cut barron. if they did then i think drafting a guy like evans would be vital.
InvaderRamModeratorI don’t see how they could afford both Suh and Donald.
that’s the one thing i can’t get past. money.
but fit? i don’t know. here’s a link from the third article. scott seems to think suh could play any position on a dline in a 3-4 front.
Bart Scott: Ndamukong Suh in a 3-4 ‘Would Be Virtually Unstoppable’
“I’ve always wanted to see [Ndamukong] Suh play in a 3-4,” former NFL linebacker and current CBS analyst Bart Scott said on the Big O Show. “Because I think Suh in a 3-4 would be so dynamic, right? Because now you can’t double him, now you can move him around like people do with J.J Watt, Muhammad Wilkerson, all these types of guys. But when you put him there and they know exactly where he’s gonna line up, it’s easy to just take him away.
“So if you want to make Ndamukong Suh an end, you put him in a 3-4. So I think that’s something they should consider because I think Ndamukong Suh in a 3-4 would raise so much hell, it’d be illegal and then you just have to ask Cameron Wake to stand up and play a form of outside linebacker like Demarcus Ware was asked to do in Dallas but I’d love to see that happen because now you get the best of both worlds. Now people don’t know who’s coming. Now you have five on five, not five on four and people have to make a decision, who’s coming, who’s not coming. Sometimes you have to adjust your scheme to your personal and I always thought Ndamukong Suh in a 3-4 would be virtually unstoppable.”

InvaderRamModeratorbeen thinking about it and at first i wasn’t sure if he’d be a fit.
but looking at his athletic traits. he’s explosive. he’s strong. he’s got some speed. i don’t know why you couldn’t put him at defensive end and put brockers back at nose tackle. wade always talks about creating one on one matchups for your best players. all three dlinemen in this instance would command double teams. someone would be getting freed up. i don’t know why this wouldn’t work.
https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-ndamukong-suh-a-scheme-diverse-3-down-disruptor
pro football focus ranks him number 5 among all dlinemen with a 91.0 grade. it’s the second best grade of his career. they talk about the fact that he’s become equally adept at both the run and pass and can play in multiple schemes.
not only that but he’s played defensive end for miami some.
Ndamukong Suh at defensive end? “That’s too bad for the QB”
there’s also this article explaining how he’d fit.
Analyzing how Ndamukong Suh would fit in the Rams' 3-4 defense
i think wade would find a way to make it work. i don’t think the rams would bring him in unless wade said he could make it work. just depends on if suh would want to do the things wade would ask of him. maybe that’s why there’s a visit scheduled. to see if there’s a match.
InvaderRamModeratorWe kept the offense, except for Watkins. We kept all of our kicking game and Cooper on Special Teams. We loaded up on CBs. We need DL and LBers.
younger players on offense should get better. unfortunately, whit and sully are getting old.
waiting to see who they add at nose tackle and edge rusher.
InvaderRamModeratorso basically the rams really need todd gurley to stay healthy.
goff, gurley, and whitworth.
InvaderRamModeratorWhether that works for the Jets or not will be seen down the road, I guess, but I would take that deal without hesitation if I was the Colts. Move down 3 spots for 3 second rounders?
In a heartbeat.
it’s risky. even when the rams traded up to eventually draft goff i wasn’t sure it was the best move. and i’m still not sure it was the best move. although it certainly looks better than it did a year ago.
InvaderRamModeratorI have always believed, and still do, that trading into the top 10 is a big mistake. If it does seem to work, all that proves is you got lucky, not smart.
so basically try to accumulate as many draft picks as one possibly can.
InvaderRamModeratorI think people are down on Higbee, not Everett.
yeah.

InvaderRamModeratorprobably just speculation but at the end of the show, curley talks about a possible move for rob gronkowski and explains his rationale. probably just daydreaming, but he chuckles almost as if he knows something…
probably nothing.
InvaderRamModeratori’d also kick the tires on eric ebron. he’s already getting some attention from indy, baltimore, carolina, and new england.
he gets mixed reviews, but he’s been productive.
InvaderRamModeratorBucky Brooks mock – LT Kolton Miller to the Rams
Los Angeles Rams Mobile: Bucky Brooks Mock Draft: 2.0
http://www.therams.com/videos/videos/Bucky-Brooks-Mock-Draft-20/89239acf-6d54-48f9-815b-999500bec692
i don’t know if i’d agree with the pick. but i’d understand. and i wouldn’t necessarily be disappointed. cuz i think miller’s a good prospect at one of the most important positions in football.
but guys who were picked after miller (in this mock).
1. harold landry
2. da’ron payne
3. rashaan evans
4. leighton vander eschthat’d be tough for me to pass up on those 4 guys to pick a guy who ideally wouldn’t start for another year.
InvaderRamModeratori like it. i’m comfortable with him at center and blythe backing up. and i think mcvay and the coaching staff did a good job managing the older players during the week. so i don’t expect the rams oline to fall off a cliff this year. although i wouldn’t be disappointed if they drafted a couple olinemen in the draft.
March 16, 2018 at 8:14 pm in reply to: sources say the Rams are now intent on keeping Tavon Austin #84163
InvaderRamModeratori don’t know if he’s so much willing to as much as he’s having to use tavon in this offense.
i still wouldn’t be surprised to see tavon not get many touches. especially if josh reynolds develops and if the rams get another tight end. which i think they’re certain to do via free agency or the draft.
maybe he still gets cut or can the rams not do this at this point given they restructured his contract?
InvaderRamModeratornot worth it. i do think they need to go tight end in the draft.
i like tyler conklin in the fourth round. good red zone target but also supposed to be a capable blocker.
i like the idea of pairing him with everett.
InvaderRamModeratorI’m a little nervous about replacing 3 of our 4 linebackers. I don’t recall any team ever doing that before.
It makes me nervous too, but apparently inside LBs are not as difficult to replace in Wade’s defense, provided you find the right type.
well if barwin comes back, it’ll only be 2….
but he’s probably the one you would want to replace.

InvaderRamModeratorbecause they lost watkins?

InvaderRamModeratorIt’s a beautiful journey.
yeah. it’s sure to be a helluva ride.
InvaderRamModeratorTim can play in a 1gap or 2gap system and in spite of his size and girth can play multiple positions on your defensive line. In fact if he plays on the outside and has more open space and his hand usage and foot quickness along with his strength gives him the advantage over less athletic offensive tackles. Tim is a disrupter and will give you some sacks and tackles behind the line of scrimmage from the nose tackle or defensive tackle position. If you decide to play him outside in a 3/4 defense I’m convinced he could be even more disruptive and have double digit sack totals.
he’s versatile. i’ve read more than once that he played multiple positions at virginia tech. i’m intrigued. but not at 23.
6’3″ 329 lbs
33″ arms 9.1″ hands
5.37 40
4.83 short shuttle
7.95 3-cone
23.5″ vert
96″ broadat least from the combine, i don’t see that quick twitch athleticism. at least compared to vea.
InvaderRamModeratori bet they draft kolton miller.
InvaderRamModeratornot too broken up. they can use one of their sixth round picks on a developmental prospect and special teams ace.
InvaderRamModeratorThere is real excitement and anticipation for Samson Ebukam as one of the starting OLB’s.
i really like him. i think he could be real good. but i still want to see them have a top notch pass rushing threat opposite him.
InvaderRamModeratori like josh reynolds. a lot. he could easily add another 20 pounds to his frame. and he’s not just tall. he’s got very good agility (4.13 short shuttle and a 6.83 3-cone). he’s explosive (37″ vertical 10’4″ broad).
and again. i think kupp gets better.
i could see them drafting another tight end this year. tyler conklin looks like a possibility in the later rounds. rams interviewed him at the senior bowl i believe. tested very well at the combine. very versatile.
i think i miss the second rounder more than i miss watkins to be honest.
InvaderRamModerator$5M/yr for Coleman doesn’t seem like alot when you see these rankings.
you know. you’re right.
still the rams need a pass rush for all this to work.

InvaderRamModeratorbut where’s the pass rush? where’s the run defense?
i guess this means kayvon is done here?
peters, talib, robey coleman, shields, hill?
InvaderRamModeratorJ.B. Long@JB_Long
Rams didn’t “waste” anything on No.12. They paid him a pittance, were right about his health, got 8 TDs & 11 wins, West title, and led NFL in scoring.Likely swap a great 2017 2nd for a decent 2019 comp. Learned more about him, themselves, and didn’t sell the farm. No regrets.
mmm. dunno. that second round pick coulda been used on a pass rusher. or an offensive lineman…
it sucks at least a little.
