Norv Turner as OC next year? That intrigues me.
HramParticipantWell done Sir X!
HramParticipantYep
And we may start on a wall but perhaps not right away and maybe not get too much of it done and perhaps Mexico won’t have to pay for it. And maybe there are parts of Obama care that are decent so we should revise it instead of throw it out right away. And Hillary is a good person who should be thanked so their probably will not be an indictment. And, and, and.
It is not unusual for an incoming president to not push with fervor and also to face some realities, which they most likely knew ahead of time, on what could be enacted and not be able to push some (or more than some) of the agenda they promised.
It is unusual for the promises to be so angry and full of vitriol and the backing away to happen this quickly.
I wonder if we will ever see his tax returns…

HramParticipantWater is why they would have to bring the western half of Oregon and Washington with them.
Although I’m sure desalinization of seawater could also become a big industry.
HramParticipantEcotopia, I remember reading that as a young lad. Might even still have it in a bookshelf in my basement. They would have to take the western part of Oregon and Washington with them.
HramParticipantThis is disappointing.
I thought the oline would be improved this year and the offense would be a little better as a result.
They need a new coaching regime next year. They just aren’t good enough and I don’t see them miraculously getting better by the end of the year.
There is enough talent on this team, it’s past time that it was coached up.
Regardless, don’t start Geoff until he is ready. Once is fundamentals are correct, they should give him a few series a game to ensure they hold. If they do, give him some more time so he gains experience. If they don’t, then keep working on them in practice without putting him the game.
We’ll probably scrap our way to seven wins, somehow.

Rams have 3 QBs they can win with. Goff did not look lost and made one great pass to cooper that could have been caught. With Dallas D coming after him, I bet they decided to pull him and not risk injury. Mannion commanded the pocket. Couple bad throws. More good decisions.Several third stringers looked good. Hill (he tackled), seau, Spruce (played like he did in college.
Oline opened some holes and backup RBs looked good.
Cooper has some game and higbee gets open and can catch.
Quick got open caught the ball and can block.
Several play action first down throws.
We may have 9 defensive linemen that deserve to make this team.
Ogletree went into the hole with some speed to tackle.
Minuses
Wow, defense sucked early. Focus? Game plan? Prescott playing over his head? Don’t know and they will play better, but that was not fun to watch.- This reply was modified 7 years, 9 months ago by Hram.
HramParticipantI am glad they included Massey. 🙂
HramParticipantLegitimate questions about Goff’s velocity? Not in the measurable’s I have seen.
HramParticipantQuick much improved.
That would be big.
HramParticipantThat’s pretty cheap.
Worth it even if we only get 8 good games out of him before he goes on IR then bring up whoever on the practice squad that is ready.
HramParticipantI would not be surprised to see two of the wide receivers from this draft make the team and another two on the practice squad.
That’s for gaining ground on Seattle and Arizona, if Goff can play well in the pros, we gained a ton of ground.
HramParticipantI watched Spruce in several games over the past couple of years. The Colorado team has been horrible and they had nothing on offense. Everyone knew they were going towards Spruce, they had nothing else.
He still regularly shook free for the catch. Just always seems to find the open area and possesses great hands.
Times slow, but a great shot as a possession 4th wide receiver.
HramParticipantI hated it when they did it and I still don’t like the Austin trade.
This trade I’m coming around to thinking may work out. They are young and talented, but need average or better QB play to actually be good. They should be able to get that at #1, if not this year by two or three years when the QB is experienced.
Add in the salary cap savings to maintain our best and get another piece or two over the next two years and, well, provided the QB doesn’t flop, we will be in a better place.
I’m almost always a stay where you are or trade down guy, but the team (although I would like them to add one really good receiver) is ready including a young oline.
In this one instance, I think the trade up was the right play.
HramParticipantA decent journeyman backup at QB, if he becomes that, is a solid choice at the end of the 3rd round. You can hope for more, but shouldn’t expect it.
HramParticipantI was stationed in Heidelberg about 18 years ago and went to several games. They were a lot of fun with very much a European soccer atmosphere.
It is above JUCO in my opinion but certainly below major power five conference.
He will take some developing, but if he is that athletic it could be worth a late round pick.
April 1, 2016 at 6:46 pm in reply to: informal poll–for or against trading up? trading down? staying put? #41307HramParticipantI agree with Ag.
HramParticipantHave we all forgotten that after all this time we’ve yet to find a replacement for Massey. Come on people. Where are we going to get that position filled in the draft?
This is a quandary, since, as you know, it is very difficult to trade up above the 1st pick of the 1st round. Not impossible of course, just difficult. And yet where else are they going to find someone worthy of the position and its history.
So you’re saying there is a chance…
HramParticipantHave we all forgotten that after all this time we’ve yet to find a replacement for Massey. Come on people. Where are we going to get that position filled in the draft?
HramParticipantThe guy simply makes plays.
That is an accurate description.
If they were coming out the same year, I would take him over Mannion. He reminds me of Tarkington. An escape artist. One time last year he was running to his left and threw a 20 yard bullet left handed. He is also accurate on the long ball.
HramParticipantSlow delivery and occasional poor decision-making are the two issues he had in college. They will need to change his mechanics and give him enough reps that he starts to develop muscle memory on places to throw and not to throw if they hope for him to develop.
I follow both Oregon teams closely and I believe they drafted Mannion about three rounds too high.
HramParticipantNever lived in the Cleveland, Anaheim, LA or St. Louis. I am just a vagabond Rams fan who will cheer for them regardless of where they play.
My heart goes out to those of you like DAK who feel so sad on this day.
HramParticipantThey need mid-grade QB play. That and some health should be enough to get to 10.
They should be able to keep most of the components of the defense together with their salary cap space.
I’m assuming they get improvement out of half of all the olinemen they picked up the last two years. To get to more than 10 I think they’d also need one really good, legit WR.
QB is an imperative.
I don’t believe the QB or the wr are currently on the roster.
Maybe they can trade one of their seconds for someone’s number 2 QB. Whose got a good one?
HramParticipantI imagine we will lose at Arizona, Seattle and Green Bay. The rest of them we have a chance to win. If your OL can play even close to middle of the pack by the end of the first quarter of the season and you start out to into, barring a rash of injuries, I believe we will win 10 or 11 games.
I am glad that lyser and his potty mouth are planning on going to heaven, it gives me more hope.
July 29, 2015 at 9:00 pm in reply to: time for the "barring injuries" season record predictions #27741HramParticipantNo injuries including a healthy QB? I’m going 11 and five with that.
HramParticipant“…He’s paying attention…his effort…”
I take that to mean he was less dedicated before this year thinking he could get by more on his natural athleticism. Figuring that out may be something some gifted athletes have to learn, but I’d guess from all we’ve heard that he is more focused this year.
June 22, 2015 at 9:16 am in reply to: indicators that do the best job of separating winners from losers on the field #26654HramParticipantRunning a lot and passing very effectively.
Having a great enough defense that the opposing quarterbacks pass efficiency is worse than your own.
Per this article, the Rams are building a team best prepared to win today.
Doesn’t matter how many yards you gain running or passing (although more yards doesn’t hurt) what matters is that you run often and you’re passing efficiency is better than the opposing teams.
