I’m shocked too. Turner Field was an excellent ballpark each time I was there. I wonder why they would want to rebuild so soon?
Turner field was built in part to support the 96 Olympic games…. Turner field does not have a good parking in downtown ATL.The new stadium will be built outside of ATL.
I remember the “Launching Pad” (Fulton County stadium) more so than the Turner field. In part because the Braves were on TBS almost everyday during baseball season. the Braves had the biggest friggin homers doing play-by-play baseball games on TV when their biggest stars were Dale Murphy and Bob Horner…..
Parking? I wouldn’t know since I always took the MARTA. The place was really packed each game I attended. I most remember Chief Knock-A-Homa. What a great trade mark gone but not forgotten.

bnwBlockedGuys let’s keep relocation stuff in relocation threads and try not to sink into city bashing.
Thanks.
Yours, sincerely, the mods.
City bashing? Moi? Just my midwestern perspective on personal hydration via municipal means. Didn’t need to call out the smurfs.

bnwBlockedBTW, the not wanting to play in LA because it is sin city is bunk too. There are lots of people in LA with midwestern values as you want to put it.
My midwestern values say don’t drink yours or others sewage. But in California they know better being so sophisticated and all.

Even if the public financing is not used for a stadium for the Rams?
What I keep hearing is, St. Louis is the only place to build 2 venues within 25 years, and that the credit that has earned could lead to another team ending up in St. Louis.
See Turner Field for Atlanta Braves……built in 1997, will be replaced in 2017….
RFL =
It’s gonna be ugly at the dome this year. Rams will not have a single game with a normal, home crowd.
Anyone who asks StL fans to “support the team” the way Fisher has blithely done is asking one helluva lot that flies in the face of human nature.
Kroenke has led an organization to treat this as a waste year. He’s given nothing to the fans, no hope, no encouragement. Nary a damn thing.
See 1994 Rams….The threat of relocation dominated talk about the Rams from early in the offseason right up to the moment the move was announced and it had a major effect on the franchise’s standing in the market.[2] Average attendance for Rams games at Anaheim Stadium was at an all-time low (an average of 43,312 a game) as ownership negotiated with both Baltimore and St. Louis.
I can’t believe they are replacing Turner field this soon. I lived in Atlanta for ten years or so and have been to that ballpark several times. It is majestic and amazing.

I don’t care how much the actual team improves, holds level, or regresses. On field performance is not going to neutralize Kroenke’s stink in the stadium. Indeed, as I have said before, perhaps the cruelest thing for a StL fan to endure would be the team FINALLY getting over the hump and showing the success that LA will be able to enjoy.
Ugly. Ugly. I am sure Fisher will be encouraging an us-against-the-world mindset among the players. It’s gonna be a long damn year without a real home. I can just imagine training camp. Pre-Season games. Home games. Ugh!
I just hope Fisher stops making inane remarks that insult the fans’ intelligence and belittle the pain they’re feeling.
None of this is meant to take a side on whether they go or stay. I won’t be affected either way. I just want everyone to be honest about what the loyal StL fan is having to wade through. And about what the vibe around the team will almost certainly be.
I can’t imagine that that vibe won’t cost the Rams a couple home games this year. I bet they play better on the road!
The value of the St.Louis PSL goes to zero. Those 21 years worth of tickets became even more expensive. A first class screw ing.

Hopefully, this time, without a stupid “top 25% of NFL venues” stipulation.
Just thinking out loud here. I have no particular view, just an open mind and some thotz.
.
I doubt the midwestern mind considers it a credit. More like a stick up.

bnwBlockedPSLs are a price paid per seat in order to be able to buy season tickets for that seat “forever” as long as you continue to purchase season tickets. The PSL can be sold to another person for a price determined by the seller with the same conditions as the original purchase.

Hmm. Well I think an avg. qb—one right in the middle of the pack—
QB rating in the low 90s
Completion percentage around 63%
Around 240 yards a game
INT% around 2.2-2.4%
YPA around 7.2Let me see who I just described. ……….. (I am actually just now looking to see……) That is, who in 2014 does this describe?
Okay.
Joe Flacco
.
Not bad. I think Flacco’s numbers were less than that when they won the Super Bowl. Glass is half full my friend!

I’m with you. I think he is one good qb coach (and decent offensive line) away from being amazing.

vSuch pessimism is not warranted in my opinion. Foles is the answer for this season for multiple reasons. A decent answer at that. Crack a smile it won’t hurt.
So you think Foles can be “amazing” ?
Call me a pessimist,
but i do not expect that.
Despite the amazing year
he had for the Eaglesw
vI know I feel much better about going into the season with Foles and a 2nd round draft pic and more cap space to address team needs than having Bradford start after 2 ACL surgeries in 18 months. I never wrote amazing. I wrote optimistic. In fact it was the only feeling of such optimism since the Marshal Faulk trade moment I experienced 16 years ago and the Aeneus Williams signing two years later.

bnwBlockedVaporization in the tank is negligible and at most a concern on the most hottest days. Spilling drops when removing the handle is the greater loss than vaporization and that small amount defeats the vapor recovery system at the pump. Over filling and the expansion of fuel out of the tank on hot days are still greater losses than vaporization. And for at least 20 years US cars have their own vapor recovery system too. So fill your tank as fast as you want which these days with $2-$3 per gallon gas most stations have slowed the pump speed considerably than in years past anyway which I find quite annoying.

The campaign against Nicole Kidman was described and then abruptly dropped in the documentary. Nothing about the divorce with Katie Holmes either. Those non disclosure agreements sure make the documentarians job difficult I guess. The mother who had attained the highest level of “enlightenment”? who was ordered to shun her son and refused suffered her daughter shunning her as a result was heartbreaking to watch.
