He’s not injured so the sky is the limit!

bnwBlockedI don’t know, man. Wouldn’t you think one would have to be brain damaged to play for the 49ers in the first place?
So Isaac Bruce is brain damaged?

bnwBlockedNew helmets won’t negate the physics involved and he knows it. We may see this more in the future from highly drafted and paid linemen.

Who didn’t? Didn’t we learn Manning was injured going into that game in St. Louis? So that wasn’t a real test. They beat a sleepwalking Seahawks team and Carroll will not make that mistake against Fisher again. They stunk it up against the Chargers when it really mattered at the end and lost. They were embarrassed by AZ to put an early nail in the Rams seasons coffin. This defense has not shown itself to be great. They generally bottom feed and while that is necessary to win they come up short against good teams far too often which makes them a sub .500 team (and ready for it the PR song that remains the same) with promise. With promise again in 2016 and each year after.

June 5, 2015 at 3:51 pm in reply to: Yikes: Zac Stacy looks back on his infamous draft day tweet #25884bnwBlocked…I’ll never understand what exactly happened to him though.
I really thought he showed a LOT that first year. Then…not so much.People (including me) say he gained weight, and it messed with his game. It was “bulking up” weight and IMO it backfired.
Then there’s other stuff.
Mason has more speed and is more of a breakaway threat, and Cunningham mastered the 3rd down role PLUS plays special teams (which Stacy doesn’t). All that conspired to make him inactive on a lot of Sundays.
It was Mason. Mason could work better behind what O ;line the Rams had. Cunningham too. Outside of injury to those two Stacy was gone.

He like everyone else was surprised by the drafting of Gurley. At that moment he knew he was gone. So why would yikes get so much reaction?

Explain.
Nothing. Just an open-ended quip. I think I was thinking at some level of a joke, where the more optimistic view NE offers becomes the (presumed) “real, revealed” usually more cautious and less optimistic you.
But, mostly, it was just a light-hearted “eye of the beholder” thing. Completely off-the-cuff.
Yes sir light hearted living.

June 2, 2015 at 3:38 pm in reply to: Monday morning question: which Rams players can become elite at their position #25692bnwBlockedThat is interesting info about Macdonald. From worst to first in one season begs these questions. Is he getting Williams system to account for the improvement? Or is he benefitting from others playing to Williams system? Or both?

So, I think I can become an elite Rams discussion question stealer.
My list of Rams? Later.
Include a surprise if you can.
Cherry picking other posters lists? Another form of pilfering. My list is short. Gaines and Donald. Yes I pilfered.

bnwBlockedAaron Donald, ID, St. Louis Rams
What a rookie year! Donald didn’t start until Week 6 but still managed to not only log 724 snaps but also earn the highest grade of any defensive tackle. That was the level of dominance the former Pittsburgh Panther produced. There was a feeling he was too small heading out of college but his ability to penetrate made him more than just a situational player, with him earning marks in run defense comparable to his excellent work pass rushing.
Best Performance: Week 10, SL @ ARZ, +5.7
Key Stat: Finished in the Top 10 in both Run Stop Percentage and Pass Rushing Productivity.
What a great pick that was.
Yes it was. What impresses me most about him is he closes the deal so often. Did his production increase once Long returned or was it consistent throughout the season.

bnwBlockedis the operative word. Good read though. The best on the draft gamble yet. Some new information I had not seen anywhere is from the surgeon who operated on the knee. He was very positive so that makes me breathe somewhat easier.

Yes, my mistake. Getting high keeps one above the PED fueled on the field fray.

bnwBlocked====================
ACL injuries most often occur in non-contact situations, usually where the foot is planted on the floor. When forces are passed through the leg, if the foot is planted the stress on the knee is increased, resulting in knee injuries.I tried to explain non-contact knee stuff to a buncha posters “elsewhere” once and they were all skeptical and derisive.
When you look up the actual medical stuff, the picture is not so simple.
.
I believe it. The physics doesn’t change. The carrying capacity of muscle and other tissues doesn’t change. Bigger body moving at faster speed doesn’t need contact for injury.

bnwBlockedI’m not condoning the use of PEDs but using them to make the Rams? Making the Seahawks or Cheatriots makes more sense given their success in recent years. But the Rams? And what was mentioned before it seems like it is every year a Rams player is caught.

bnwBlockedCompared to 40 years ago and earlier the athletes are too big. The athletes are too strong. The athletes are too fast. The physics involved hasn’t changed. The athletes have changed. This is particularly true of linemen. No strength training will overcome physics. No amount of flexibility training can overcome muscle burden. Medical science hasn’t kept pace to keep these athletes playing as long as their predecessors of over 40 years ago. It probably never will.

be hopeful…….The last time the RAMS moved to LA, they won the NFL Title during a lame duck season in Cleveland….
Thanks, I think. Even the football Cardinals won the NFL title twice. LA Rams for all their publicity forced upon the rest of the nation were at best second best in the Super Bowl. St.Louis Rams are Super Bowl Champions.

bnwBlockedRandom quote:
“I wanted to see whether or not the great Louis XIV style, which I consider the most beautiful style, could work in a modern building. I didn’t want to buy old columns, because they’re cracked and broken. I waited to have brand-new minted marble columns… I’ve used all onyx. Onyx is a precious stone, many times more beautiful. I don’t believe there is an apartment like this anywhere in the world. The view, the solid bronze window frames, the fountain all brand new and carved. Did you see the way the window shades go up and down, all remote? And they’re bulletproof… I don’t care about material needs. I could be happy in a studio apartment with a television and a telephone.” Donald Trump
