Well that makes more sense explaining the crapfest but telegraphing plays is pathetic for a pro team.

    Is that “telegraphing”?

Or the 9ers doing a great job of studying the Rams offensive tendencies?

The Rams defense has dismantled some top offenses in the past, and part of it is using film to read tendencies.

It is definitely telegraphing. One or more Rams players on offense was doing something that the entire 49ers D could see and be assured it would happen. Don’t get to 28-0 by tendencies you get there by the other team telegraphing the play. Good teams don’t let this happen.

They did not say what you said. It wasn’t one or 2 players tipping off. It was the entire offensive alignment and motion before the snap—and that is play design. That is what was said. If the D was reading the Rams plays that closely, that means they saw tendencies in the film from the last 4 games last year where Boras was the coach.

If the player in question meant individual players were telegraphing he would have said that. He said it was the pre-snap alignment and motion, which is an entirely different thing.

    .

    28-0 is TELEGRAPHING.

That aside, I was more taken aback by the fact that they would part with so many draft picks for a QB in a weak QB class when there was SO much defensive talent in the first two rounds.

I dunno. It’s probably all bullshit, but I didn’t think so at the time. And it certainly wouldn’t surprise me if true.

That is a good point about the QB class. If Goff really was drafted simply because he’s a prettier poster boy for LA than Wentz then they deserve the worst.

Donald pinched the back of Patton’s neck, a receiver for the Niners. I did not see the contact with the referee that followed. Donald totally lost it and slammed his helmet on the ground after being ejected. Reminds me of the Turley helmet-toss.

Turley was such a drama queen. I remember hearing him interviewed on national radio broadcasts ripping Martz a new butthole.

Free cones all the time wouldn’t be economically feasible in LA or anywhere else.

The video said it was only for the Monday night game.

Better promotion is the free small one topping LaRosa’s pizza in Cincinnati for every ticket holder to a Reds game in which Reds pitchers strike out at least 11 batters. I’ve watched the Cardinals achieve the dubious distinction 3 times and I believe they beat the Reds each time too.

I guess free cones were out of the question? Too much of a loss?
That lends some validity to Stan’s claim that the city isn’t economically viable.

Free cones all the time wouldn’t be economically feasible in LA or anywhere else. I was wrong in saying free in the title line of this thread. I’d guess it is half price? Good stuff but not in the class of Ted Drewes!

Sometimes I think these guys don’t even know what they’re protesting. Just kinda going with whatever someone else is doing because it will elevate them to the class of rebel. I don’t know how much of this discussion is tolerated here, so I’ll just say that these numbnuts have no idea what oppression is. Women who get stoned to death for dating someone they think is cute? That’s oppression. Women prohibited from showing their faces? That’s oppression. Children brainwashed into martyring themselves? That’s oppression. African Americans led by an African American President? That’s not oppression. The Media tricking these guys into believing that there’s oppression? That’s the real crime.

Well said sir. BTW “numbnuts” is a personal favorite term of mine.

It’s not just one game it’s 65 games now. I sure don’t need to see another game like that one
in my life time. The fact that they have rebounded after poor performance time after time makes it worse. This team is an undisciplined inconsistent mess. The only constant has been losses like this and coach Jeff Fisher. If you want to go to the home opener there are still seats available from $175.00 to $225.00.

I dunno. Fisher has always had a way of coming back after
games like this. We’ll see how they play at home. They have to win their home games.

17,000 gallons is a SMALL leak. The pipeline is not endangering water supplies. Have you ever looked at a map of pipelines traversing the continental US? There’s over 55,000 MILES of crude oil pipelines in the US. Those pipelines range in size from 8 to 24 inches in diameter. Thats just crude oil pipelines. Many more pipelines than that. You live in CT? Take a look at the NPMS site to see what pipelines run through your county.

    As Zooey noted upthread:

This particular protest was about building a pipeline which would destroy water supplies in this particular place. While it has larger environmental ramifications, it was specific in its intentions. It wasn’t about the use of fossil fuels more broadly. It was about building a pipeline in that place, now, and the destruction of water.

There is no “hypocrisy” involved in this case, unless the protesters built pipelines elsewhere. If they have built them on someone else’s land, and this destroyed water, and they had been okay with that — as in, someone else’s water — yeah, it’s hypocritical to raise a protest when it happens to them.

But that’s not what happened. And while everyone really knows that the accusation of hypocrisy is just another lame, tired old right-wing tactic to prevent positive social, economic and environmental change, it doesn’t even remotely apply here. It never does, when launched by righties, which is why the protesters ignored the accusations, as they should.

No one’s buying it. No intelligent human being is going to care about desperate right-wing attempts to prevent critically necessary social, economic and environmental change.

Provide proof it will destroy water supplies in that area! Total BS!

    Yes or no.

Everyone can change their mind. What matters are ones subsequent actions.

So, no, Trump’s hypocrisy doesn’t bother you. You just spin it differently. Because he hasn’t “changed his mind.” He is playing both sides of those issues.

bnw, each time by now that you use the rightie “aha hypocrisy” move, people here just simply read it as partisan gameplaying.

You can do it all you want, but I promise you, it will never be taken as anything more than that.

It’s just one of your go-to “be a partisan” moves.

Partisan? No. The truth hurts so you ostrich about? Got it. Yet the hypocrisy remains. Protesting petroleum when you rely upon it to get to your protest is the height of hypocrisy. That I promise you.
