“The Will of the People” is a thing that does not exist but is used over and over again by political salespeople to convince each other that their position has unanimous support. It gets really funny and ironic when The Will of the People is trotted out to convince the very same People to vote a certain way.

Except Trump isn’t campaigning as the will of the people. The people see the establishment lined up against Trump and the people realize he speaks for their interests.

I don’t think Quick made that TD. The defenders, especially the safety, overran that are blew that play. I think Quick benefited from that mistake.

The run game is a mystery. Gurley isn’t making it past the 2nd level even on those occasions when he makes it past the 1st level which isn’t very often. Defenses are clearly keying on him, but something is wrong there. That second level needs to be loosened up somehow, either with better blocking schemes, or by making them pay attention to receivers.

I’d like to see them throw to Gurley more because those passes seem to be somewhat effective. Whatever happened to the screen? Remember when screens were about 50% of the Rams’ passes? Talk about extremes. They’ve gone from vast overuse to underuse.

Wasn’t TA signed to that big contract to help take pressure off Gurley? The O line isn’t making any holes for Gurley to get through.

a big part of this team’s success has been about field position, with the help of special teams play.

Punting and punt coverage….. Hekker has pinned opponents; yesterday 2 punts in the 4th qtr pinned AZ inside the 20 (1 inside the 10) I believe Hekker hasn’t punted a Touchback this year yet… one of those punts went to waste with the horse collar tackle, but ultimately resulted in an INT.

Greg Zuerlein 5 for 5 in FGs thus far….. and perfect in XPs……he was difference vs Seattle and TB…. yesterday, his points were just as important.

Defense played great… came up big….. I think Tru Jo’s int was inconclusive and shouldn’t have been overturned…. anyway, TJ put the game way with a fair catch int to end the game….

Arizona’s defense is still tough and keyed on the Gurley, but the Rams still need to put drives together to consume the clock and put games away.

Fisher needs to use his replay “get out of jail free cards” a bit more wisely……

    Yes, good points.

The false narrative has been there for a long time, but in recent months, especially with the rise of the libertarian candidate, Gary Johnson, it seems to be at peak-pundit. I’m guessing corporate media are pushing this, to blur the lines between actual populism — which comes from the left and is a threat to them — and the faux kind from the right.

Corporate media are firmly for Hildabeast. Six corporations now own 91% of the media in the USA. That is thanks to Bill “The Rapist” Clinton who in 1996 deregulated the media allowing for small independent radio stations to be bought up by large local media including TV and newspapers. Therefore the media will not press any issue of substance against Hildabeast as payback for their monopolies. Even Fox is now firmly against Trump with the exception of Hannity and Pirro. Despite the complicity of the media Trump will continue to gain support because his policies reflect the will of the people and the people can see the entire establishment including well known republicans are against Trump and of course, them.

At what point this season do the Rams redshirt Goff the entire season, no matter what?

If the Rams get through game 12, and are in the playoff picture, would they switch to Goff if they though he was ready? I don’t know. I don’t think so. I have to think it’s by mid-season. Game 8 or 9, or we don’t see him unless Keenum gets injured.

Thats reasonable. $tanK can’t pass up playoff revenue.

Oh to be able to play that 9’ers game over again.

At season’s end the Rams will be sitting at 15-1 and looking to make history but for that anomalous blip at the start of the year.

    I know what you’re thinking, “14-2? Possibly. 13-3? Most assuredly. But 15-1?”

    Bet the house.

    15-1.

Rams 15-1? Absolutely. I will bet your house.

I didn’t say ‘my’ house. I clearly said ‘the’ house, which obviously refers to zn’s house. I thought that was self-evident.

No it wasn’t and who wants to win a house in Maine in time for the winter?

Typical NY Times BS. “may have” doesn’t cut it. Terrible reporting. Much like their lies about Trump and the women he dated. If he’s following the law then don’t blame him, change the law. This story boils down to he followed the law. Let me know when he deducts his used undies on his taxes or when in office he rents out the Lincoln Bedroom or steals the White House china like the Clinton Crime Syndicate.

I can only speak as to why I never watch games anymore in real time. Instead, I watch replays with the NFL pass on Apple TV. Several reasons:

No commercials. There are way too many stoppages in play. The commercials go on forever, and most are bad. Refs take too long to make decisions. All of that slows the game down.

Replay games allow me to rewind and really enjoy the subtle stuff about the game.

I play fantasy football, so I watch the Redzone for the highlights and stats. I also follow along on my ESPN app. My local games are always the Redskins, Ravens, or Panthers. I only watch those teams if the Rams are playing them.

Most commentators are bad. I like some, but most talk too much about issues not related to football. Case in point, the kneeling thing going on now. I don’t care. I watch football for football, not political/social stances being pursued by a bunch of millionaires that are paid to play a game. Turning down the volume helps.

Sideline reporters. Too many of them. Yes, the ladies are pretty, but they’re not needed.

I think the biggest problem the NFL has is supply and demand. The demand for football is still extremely high, but the supply is everywhere. I can watch football on my TV, laptop, desktop, phone, and every bar in Richmond. There must be a thousand sports bars here, all packed with dozens of televisions. There is no reason for me to sit through a 3 hour game that consists of about 45 minutes of actual playing time, when I can watch snippets all day on so many different devices. And I can avoid all commercials and non-football related BS.

Edited because of words and things.

Good points made there. I’d add that the TV broadcasters lack knowledge about the teams. The broadcasters are nomads not associated with any one team. That lack of familiarity has to hurt ratings.

There it is playing the race card again! Trump supporters are not racist. We want change. Change for the better that strengthens the economy, decreases unemployment, removes government from dictating health care, enforcing immigration law, ending the policy of regime change, support for law enforcement and making citizens safe and so much more.

Not sure why, but I have been seeing alot of commercials with him in them. I hope will not affect his game. It is alright for an occasional one, but I worry being in LA could get into Todd Gurleys head. It is LA, Hollywood, and such.

Well…name an NFL player who did a lot of commercials and it DID affect his game.

You didn’t even read my post.

Yes, I read it, bnw. I think you’re dead wrong. And, yeah I read it.

Can you honestly say that you ever click on the links we supply regarding Trump’s malfeasance, endless lies, demagoguery, racist and otherwise? Can you honestly say you read those articles? I don’t recall you ever responding to any of the points made; you just dismiss them out of hand, and try to change the subject to Clinton.

Remember, no one, with the possible exception of Waterfield, is a Clinton supporter here. So when we critique Trump, your attempt to redirect things away from him and toward Clinton, without admitting to any valid criticism of Trump, evah, just doesn’t cut it. It just sounds desperate.

Oh, and speaking of desperation and panic, you keep saying “the left” shows that when it’s critical of Trump. I guess you’ve missed all the right-wingers who despise him too, like Jennifer Rubin, Kathleen Parker and George Will at the WaPo. He’s managed to piss off folks all across the political spectrum, left, right and center. It’s not just “the left.”

No you didn’t read it. You’ve now proven it twice.

I love this Samantha Bee staff picture. This is what they think about Trump after his “fat-shaming” of Alicia Machado.

    Samantha Bee's staff

Machado’s done a great job of shaming herself on TV. While screwing a fellow contestant of a reality show she says

” ‘ Oh your d*** my love, what a tasty d***, your d*** is divine”

That is some appetite she has for sausage. But that is Trump’s fault?

Not only is the substance of his remarks a key indication of his stupidity and ignorance, but the rhythm of it all, the sense that this is a child speaking, at best an arrested adolescent, is, well, scary, given what he’s trying to do.

He’s trying to win by getting more votes than Hildabeast and he’s been exceptional at it. Even with all the usual democrat vote fraud and now with Hildabeast exceptional level of cheating by democrats within their failed big cities Trump is still going to win. The desperation and now panic on the left is gratifying.

bnw, wake up. If there is fraud in this election, it will be perpetrated on behalf of Trump, not against him. His buddy Putin has been trying to tilt the election in his favor for months and months, and he’s had a lot of help via wikileaks.

Wake up its so obvious that it is a red herring. Putin has nothing to do with this election other than the establishment’s fear mongering meant to get into a war with Russia. The US is trying to goad Russia into a war. The leaked emails were from the murdered DNC staffer not the russians.

Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians says one of the problems the team has is the lack of young leaders on the roster, “we have young followers that ain’t following.”

    I don’t follow.

Well I saw the vid (don’t know if you did) and I just took him as saying that some of the younger guys aren’t preparing the way they should.

That’s one of the problems I guess of drafting players for a team that’s been winning. Sometimes kids don’t realize how much it takes.

    .

I was making a joke in reference to Arians’ quote since it didn’t make sense given his statement that the team lacks “young leaders”. Therefore I expected the quote to be “we have young followers that ain’t leading“.
