I’ll probably regret this but honestly, I’m curious. Can Obama pardon someone for a crime they haven’t been convicted of? Or even charged with? How does that work?

    ===========

I wonder if Obama will pardon Trump for all the future-crimes he will perpetrate.

Every President goes to war against the poor, and commits war crimes along the way. So maybe every outgoing president should just go ahead and pardon the incoming President for their future-crimes. Ya know. Just to make it all official.

Can’t do it because the pardon has to be specific. Obama should be sweating that he can’t pardon himself.

He’s not building the wall let alone have Mexico pay for it, he’s not repealing Obamacare, he’s not going to convict Hillary…aren’t those three promises the reason why about 75% of his supporters voted for him?

    http://www.newsweek.com/keeping-score-donald-trump-campaign-promises-526391

Well, he isn’t keeping his promises because he failed to keep the promise that all the others depend upon: draining the swamp. You don’t bring in Insiders to revolutionize the status quo.

Since he brought in insiders, there is no way he is going to do much of anything outside the box except some stuff for showbiz. The areas where he is capable of changing things (i.e.causing significant damage) are areas where he didn’t make any real promises in the first place: SCOUTUS, EPA, etc. But he isn’t going to do the big three.

Draining doesn’t have to mean instant change. It can mean steady reduction. Killing the culture of corruption is dependent upon current actions that have immediate and future positive effects. Employing a few swamp creatures to further the goal of real systemic change doesn’t doom the initiative.

I don’t understand your statement about SCOTUS and the EPA since Trump has promised significant change for the better with his SC appointees and a severe roll back of anti coal and other onerous EPA regs. Both will happen. GUARANTEED.

Hildabeast better get that pardon from Obama. Sessions isn’t Trump. Imagine a non political Dept. of Justice. So refreshing. The wall will be built where appropriate and Mexico will pay for it. Obamacare is toast.

I’ve always had a different opinion about Trump’s comments about Hildabeast. Those comments were his. They are not law. Sessions will have a free hand and will follow the appropriate path as allowed by law. I see Trump’s comments as simultaneously removing himself from charges of partisan attack while throwing the ball to Obama to give her a pardon. If Obama gives her a pardon Trump can say he wasn’t threatening any legal action. Trump can also say why the pardon given if she is innocent? Obama can’t risk not issuing Hildabeast and co-conspirators their pardons because he himself is proven to be as guilty as well. While playing at president for 8 years he does know enough to cover his ass. Yes despite the overwhelming evidence of his lying to the american people, he is that crass. Trump boxed him in well. Obama now has 7 weeks to give pardons for those involved that can implicate him. He can work those pardons in among all those of drug dealers he’s been so busy with while he plays golf and tours the world claiming he isn’t a failed president.

I’ll probably regret this but honestly, I’m curious. Can Obama pardon someone for a crime they haven’t been convicted of? Or even charged with? How does that work? Never heard of it. And if she is convicted AFTER Obama leaves office–Obama would no longer have authority to pardon her–would he? I’m not exactly sure what you mean.

Yes the Ford pardon of Nixon set the precedent. He was pardoned for all crimes related to Watergate that would be charged in the future. Power to pardon rests solely with the sitting president.

With just the Ford phone call and the 1000 Carrier jobs saved Trump has already done more to save US jobs than Obama has in his 8 years in office. Don’t give up on that 35% tariff since this country needs it bad. Jobs its always about jobs. He delivers or he doesn’t. No gray area exists for Trump supporters on this. Not true Raiders won while in LA. St.Louis never won a super bowl without LA Rams on on the roster and The Cards never won one before that

How many LA Rams on the ’99 Rams? No Warner, no Faulk, no Holt, no Pace, no Hakim, no Wilkins so that is the lions share of the scoring except for Bruce who only played in LA in ’94, started no games, and only had 274 combined yards on his LA resume! Defense had a few but the GSOT teams were not known for their defense.

LA blows everything out of proportion, especially any success.

Foles failed and nobody expected it. If you want to count him as a starter, fine, but I only give him the games he was fine in before he crashed. To me that’s the same as Bradford being injured–unforseen, and it leaves you without a qb.

BS. You can’t say that. It is on Fisher, even MORE SO that Foles turned out to be a head case in St. Louis. A head case with a big contract apparently only to bolster Fisher’s case for trading Bradford since Foles didn’t earn it. Folks looks fine in his two starts for KC, both were wins with QB ratings of 135 and 86, 3 TDs no INTs. Why the turnaround?

The Rams had a back up QB, but so did some of these opponents.

So those opponents were starting back-up caliber qbs in 50 of 73 games?

On top of having to repair an entire OL cause of injuries?

Not true. Not for the LA Rams in the Super Bowl era. They became the best in the NFL in St. Louis. Whatever dysfunction that lead to their premature downfall was leftover from LA. LA is toxic for NFL success.

A lot of good that will do. That clueless old coot is releasing it in Betamax.

The only exercise I get is when I walk the dogs or go birding…neither of which would qualify as aerobic exercise. I just can’t stand doing those repetitive movements on an elliptical or other exercise machines. I like getting out in the woods and hiking but I’m not motivated enough to do it regularly enough to make a difference.

Betamax is primed for a big comeback. And guess who will be laughing then.

The only exercised I like is playing something. Raquetball is fantastic, but I don’t have a club membership, and nobody to play with. But I can’t stand Exercising. My brain has to be doing something, or I get bored. Hiking is good, but…yeah. Ya gotta carve out a day for that. I went hiking in Yosemite over the weekend, and it was a joy…but I could only wish I was in better shape.

Start with walking. I get my best thinking and planning accomplished while walking. Dedicate a set time then over time see if you can pick up the pace to increase the distance walked in the time allotted. Get good walking shoes too.

I exercise regularly. Didn’t always. But, I had to lose weight. I’ve lost more than a quarter of my body weight (60 pounds). I did it because of my cholesterol. And, I just kept at it. I’ve done lots of different stuff, but mostly I’m doing yoga and resistance training … a lot of pushups, mostly. Strength training is great. I don’t do a lot of squats, tough, because my knees are creaky, too. I’m 46 years old, btw. But, I’m in way better shape than I’ve been since my 20s.

I had to build my way up, but I do lots of pushups. I can do 54 at one time. But, mostly I do different kinds of pushups, and several series of them. This morning, I figure that I did between 300 and 400 pushups plus other exercises with a resistance band. Then, I put on some ankle weights, laid down and did some leg exercises. That was over an hour’s worth of work.

But, I can only do that type of workout about twice a week. I do a lot of yoga because it’s great for flexibility and adds strength. Check out this one lady, Yoga with Adrienne, on Youtube. I follow her yoga workouts, and some of them can be really challenging. A 21-minute core workout will tear you up. Or, you can go with a lighter workout that helps mostly with flexibility. Or, anywhere in between.

The great thing about these workouts is that I don’t have to go anywhere to do them, so there’s no excuse not to do them.

That is awesome! Do you follow a certain diet?

    Trump is unhinged.

Have you seen his latest tweet storm? The guy is blowing off national security briefings(2 out of 12 he made, I believe?)and he’s tweeting about the election. He’s obsessed with CNN right now and his treatment by them. And today he posted about flag burning for some odd reason. Seems very random. But he wants a year in jail or loss of citizenship for burning the flag.

    We’re in trouble.

He’s paranoid, he’s ultra sensitive to any insult real or perceived, and he really has no interest in the real job at hand. I don’t think reality has hit him in any real way yet.

    This is not good.

Perhaps he should take lessons from Obama on how to party on the public dime and play golf while tanking the economy?
