Cullen Jenkins upset by fine
By Dan Graziano
ESPN.comEAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New York Giants defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins is annoyed, and he doesn’t mind who knows it.
Jenkins said Wednesday that he was fined $16,537 by the NFL for a roughing the passer penalty during Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams, and he wasn’t even involved in the brawl that saw two Giants and one Rams player ejected.
Giants, Rams
Cullen Jenkins was upset that he was fined more than the Giants players who were involved in a brawl during the game against the Rams on Sunday. As he sat at his locker Wednesday holding the letter he had received from the league notifying him of the fine, Jenkins said he couldn’t believe it.
“I knew they were going to fine me, but the fact that I was fined more than the people who got in the fight?” Jenkins said. “That was puzzling to me.”
Five other Giants were fined for their roles in a brawl that started after Rams linebacker Alec Ogletree hit Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. out of bounds. None of the other Giants’ fines were larger than Jenkins’.
Wide receiver Preston Parker was fined $15,000, and he said he was relieved not to be suspended for an additional game.
Other Giants players fined for their actions Sunday were defensive end Damontre Moore, kicker Josh Brown, long snapper Zak DeOssie and Beckham.

thing seriously, i would āthinkā
that means Snead is going to be obsessed
with putting a dominant OLINE on the field
next year. The QB situation is out of his control
in some respects but the OLine situation isnt.If the Rams just eliminated the big soul-crushing
Turnovers this year, they would have had a winning record.
So how do you avoid turnovers? ā you avoid pressure
on your QB. How do you do that? ā Dominant Oline.Seems to me, Snead will probably find the best, healthiest,
free agent OLineman on the market and sign him. And then
spend two of the top three picks in the draft on OLinemen.w
vI do. Winning championships is not about balance. It is about having more strengths than you opponent. You might remember me saying that many times.

Email TwitterJoan Niesen has been a staff writer at Sports Illustrated since Jan. 2014. (She would like you to know that this is her dream job and that she still doesnāt quite believe she gets to work here.) After interning in SIās New York offices as a graduate student, Niesen went on to cover high school football in Texas as an intern for the Dallas Morning News, where she grappled during elaborate halftime shows with the question of what sheād do if her future daughter ever wanted to be a cheerleader. From there, she covered the NBA for FoxSports.com in Minneapolis and then Los Angeles, developing an obsession with hoops and a strong distaste for frigid winters.
Prior to joining SI, Niesen covered Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos during the 2013 season on their Super Bowl run, and since coming to the magazine, sheās written primarily about the NFL, which she is beginning to concede is as interesting as the NBA.
Niesen prides herself as being the fastest-talking sports writer in America; Andrew Luck is the only athlete sheās ever written about whose speed rivals hers. Also, if you look hard enough, youāll find that social media is littered with photos of her standing next to large athletes so as to mock her stature. (She wishes her fellow reporters would stop taking these. Itās not nice.)
Born and raised in St. Louis, Niesen at age 10 told her parents she was going to be the Cardinalsā first female manager. By the time she finished high school, though, Tony La Russa seemed to have a pretty good handle on the job, so she figured she should explore other options. Because The West Wing was her favorite television show circa 2005, she decided to attend Georgetown University, where she earned a B.A. in economics that she hopes isnāt completely useless. She then earned her M.A. in journalism in 2011 at the University of Missouri. Niesen lives in Denver with her cat. š

Quinn, Donald Elected to 2015 Pro BowlPosted 2 hours ago
Myles Simmons Rams Insider @MylesASimmons
The Rams will be represented by two players on the defensive line in Arizona come January, as Robert Quinn and Aaron Donald have both been elected to the 2015 Pro Bowl.
Donald and Quinn have excelled in St. Louisā front seven this season, with Quinn racking up 10.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, 35 quarterback pressures, and 22 quarterback hits, according to stats based on the coachesā film review. In the Ramsā consecutive shutouts over Oakland and Washington, Quinn tallied 4.5 sacks and four forced fumbles, per the same metrics.
Quinn, who signed a four-year contract extension back in September, has been one of the NFLās best pass rushers since he entered the league in 2011. Over the past three seasons, only the Texansā J.J. Watt has more sacks than Quinnās 40.
With his selection, Quinn is the first Rams defender to attend back-to-back Pro Bowls since cornerback Jerry Gray did so in 1988 and 1989. The defensive end earned his spot last year with seven forced fumbles and a franchise record 19 sacks.
Donald is the first Rams rookie to go to the Pro Bowl since Jerome Bettis in 1993, and the first Rams rookie defender to be selected since Isiah Robertson in 1971. Robertson was also named Defensive Rookie of the Year for that season.
The defensive tackle leads all rookies with 8.0 sacks, which ranks fifth among interior linemen league wide. Donaldās 8.0 sacks are also the fourth most by a Rams defensive tackle since the NFL began recognizing them as an official stat in 1982.
Donaldās 17 tackles for loss are the most by a rookie defensive tackle since the NFL began tracking the statistic in 1997. According to the coachesā stats, the rookie has also racked up 29 quarterback pressures, 11 quarterback hits, and a forced fumble over the course of the season.
āHe came in with great skills for a rookie,ā defensive end Chris Long said recently. āHe just had this natural ability, natural understanding of leverage and pass rush, and good hand work. Heās a hard-nosed kid, too. We love having him.ā
Quinn and Donaldās trip to Arizona will mark the first time a pair of Rams defenders have made the Pro Bowl since defensive end Leonard Little and safety Aeneas Williams accomplished the feat in 2003.

Thereās 2 possibilities, at least, for him thinking that.
1. Bradfordās agent is circulating the news that they arenāt favorable to a team-friendly type extension
2. Lande is just randomly speculating based on nothing.
I don’t why know he thinks that either. He actually talks about bringing Bradford back at one point. I think the ratings guys at 101 wanted a snappy? title.
December 23, 2014 at 8:41 am in reply to: CBS Sports 920AM – Aeneas Williams 12-22 – Podcast – Jim Thomas 12.22.14 #14550AgamemnonParticipant12. St. Louis Rams – Shaq Thompson, OLB, Washington: The Rams’ issues lie predominately on the offensive side of the ball and it is entirely possible that the club rolls the dice again on a receiver. Success in the NFC West, however, comes through defense. Thompson doesn’t possess great size but his athleticism and instincts have helped him stand out wherever the Huskies have needed him – including at safety, linebacker and running back. Plugged in with Alec Ogletree and James Laurinaitis, Thompson could help the St. Louis defense grow from merely talented to a top 10 unit.

West Virginia WR Kevin White, 6-3, 209, Sr., 4.49: No player has improved his draft stock more in 2014 than White. It isn’t just his production (102 catches for 1,318 yards and nine touchdowns) that impresses scouts. White’s size, strength and ability to come down with contested grabs is something that every team in the NFL is wants at the position.

Only Rams fans seem to think heās just āmeh, whateverā. I think heās just ok. Nothing more.
I would like to see a real analysis on JLās play by someone who really knows linebacking and who understands the MLBās role in GWās defense.
I like Laurinaitis and I am not looking to replace him. But, if I am going to draft a LBer it will be someone who can replace him eventually. I thought Ogletree might be that guy, but I have changed my mind on that and we could use another LBer anyway.
TJ Mosley from last year would have been perfect, but we had bigger fish to fry.
