AgamemnonParticipantLos Angeles Rams activate Andrew Whitworth from COVID-19 list
2:48 PM CTLindsey ThiryESPN
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The Los Angeles Rams have activated left tackle Andrew Whitworth from the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Thursday.
No starters and only one player, running back Raymond Calais, who otherwise is on injured reserve, remain on the COVID-19 list for the Rams. Their coronavirus outbreak began 20 days ago.
Whitworth is expected to be available Sunday when the Rams (11-4) play the Baltimore Ravens (8-7) at M&T Bank Stadium.
The Rams, who already have clinched a playoff berth, can secure a third division title in five seasons with a victory over the Ravens, coupled with an Arizona Cardinals (10-5) loss or tie against the Dallas Cowboys.
Since the beginning of their COVID-19 outbreak, the Rams had as many as 35 players placed on the COVID-19 list, including 29 at one time.
However, despite significant roster fluctuation, the Rams went 4-0 through December and moved from second place in the NFC West into first.
Receiver Odell Beckham Jr., cornerback Jalen Ramsey, outside linebacker Von Miller, running back Darrell Henderson, safety Jordan Fuller, right tackle Rob Havenstein, tight end Tyler Higbee and Whitworth were among starters who missed time on the COVID-19 list.
AgamemnonParticipantRams clear all starters from reserve/COVID-19 list with activation of left tackle Andrew Whitworth. 20 days after outbreak began, and a list that once had 29 guys on it at one time, only player remains. https://t.co/pMvxp8jG8b

2022 is still an issue but nowhere near as challenging an issue as we were saying over the summer.
Those were my feelings too, pretty much in lock step with yours.
AgamemnonParticipantThe qualifier is that both Allen and Shelton are FAs in 2022.
According to Spotrac Shelton is a RFA next year.

AgamemnonParticipantRams backup OT Joe Noteboom has come off the reserve/COVID-19 list, Sean McVay says. Noteboom cleared the 10-day window. A big return for Rams considering left tackle Andrew Whitworth remains on reserve/COVID.

December 27, 2021 at 7:35 am in reply to: Rams vs. Vikings Post-Game Press Conferences After Win #134978AgamemnonParticipantAgamemnonParticipantAgamemnonParticipantOffensive line depth is remarkable
“The Rams’ offensive line was a concern before the season began, but it’s become a strength – and the depth across the front is fantastic. They were down to their fourth-string left tackle and backup center against the Vikings on Sunday, yet they didn’t allow a single sack to the team that leads the league in that department.
That’s not easy to do, but it’s a testament to the job that Alaric Jackson and Coleman Shelton did as backups who were thrust into starting roles. David Edwards played well at both left tackle and guard before Brian Allen got injured at center, and the right side of the line was rock solid with Rob Havenstein and Austin Corbett.
The Rams hope they don’t have to use their reserves as often as they have in the last three weeks, but they’re glad they have the depth to survive all the hurdles they’ve faced.”

Host Sosa Kremenjas shares the amazing news that Los Angeles Rams RB Cam Akers has been activated to return off injured reserve to the team on this episode of the Locked On Rams podcast. Sosa breaks down the dynamic in the backfield with Akers returning and Sony Michel and Darrell Henderson both playing a role, who the Rams should want to face and avoid in the NFL playoffs including the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals, whether or not WR Cooper Kupp can win the MVP Award, and how the defensive line has adapted and dominated in recent weeks.
AgamemnonParticipantAgamemnonParticipantLA Rams Transactions:
• Activated, from Reserve/COVID-19 DB Antoine Brooks, DB JuJu Hughes
• Activated, from Reserve/COVID-19 TE Johnny Mundt (Remains on Reserve/Injured)
• Restored to Practice Squad DB Jake Gervase— Los Angeles Rams (@RamsNFL) December 23, 2021
Only six players remain on COVID reserve now. Jordan Fuller, Tyler Higbee and Joe Noteboom are the three from the active roster who landed on COVID-19 reserve, while Javian Hawkins, Justin Lawler and Warren Jackson are practice squad players who are still on the list.
The Rams would love to get Higbee, Fuller and Noteboom back before Sunday’s game against the Vikings, but at this point, they probably just hope no other starters test positive.
