I'm sorry all, I misread the text I got that's totally on me.
Rams are trading punter Corey Bojorquez PLUS a 2023 seventh-round pick to the Packers in exchange for a 2023 sixth-round pick.

AgamemnonParticipantAgamemnonParticipantI can definitely confirm that Hekker and the Rams have discussed restructuring his deal, which previously had a cap hit of $4.9 million in 2021, but my impression is there's currently a bit of a delay in officializing roster spot because Hekker is still on the COVID/reserve list. https://t.co/FjXTofQ3ly

AgamemnonParticipantAgamemnonParticipantIf Cowboys were monitoring the Rams’ punter situation to see if Johnny Hekker would become available, little now to see. He restructured his contract and will remain in Los Angeles, sources said. Bryan Anger looks locked into Week 1 punter job for Dallas.

Jones hurt his ankle in last week's preseason game and while McVay said he felt like he was OK, we have not received an update there yet so bears monitoring. Jones, to me, would be a surprise cut.
— Jourdan Rodrigue (@JourdanRodrigue) August 31, 2021
The three RBs I see at practice this morning are Darrell Henderson, Sony Michel and Jake Funk.
— Jourdan Rodrigue (@JourdanRodrigue) August 31, 2021
AgamemnonParticipantI do not see OL Tremayne Anchrum, which is a surprise to me, nor do I see ILB Micah Kiser.
— Jourdan Rodrigue (@JourdanRodrigue) August 31, 2021

I only see one punter at practice this morning and it’s Johnny Hekker. No update yet from team on official COVID status (though he is out here so), or on spring and summer challenger Corey Bojorquez so everyone just hang tight. https://t.co/eSmhOUj4Om
— Jourdan Rodrigue (@JourdanRodrigue) August 31, 2021
Rookie WR Ben Skowronek is out here and practicing in a red non-contact jersey FWIW.
— Jourdan Rodrigue (@JourdanRodrigue) August 31, 2021
AgamemnonParticipantThe Rams are releasing LB Christian Rozeboom, per source with knowledge. He's a player they'd likely like to have back on their practice squad if he clears, but ILB has gone from a question mark to a position of depth in the last year. 5 tackles/1TFL, PD, INT in preseason
— Jourdan Rodrigue (@JourdanRodrigue) August 31, 2021
AgamemnonParticipant#Rams are waiving WR Landen Akers. Special teamer who could land on their practice squad.

Locked On Rams – Daily Podcast On The Los Angeles RamsHost Sosa Kremenjas previews the Los Angeles Rams’ preseason Week 3 contest against the Denver Broncos on this episode of the Locked On Rams podcast. Sosa highlights three players to watch on the offensive side of the ball, including C Coleman Shelton, QB Bryce Perkins, and RB’s Xavier Jones and Jake Funk. He also highlights three defensive players to look out for between DT’s Marquise Copeland, Jonah Williams, and Eric Banks, ILB’s Ernest Jones and Travin Howard, and discusses which positions may be available for grabs.
AgamemnonParticipantAgamemnonParticipantThe Rams found it smart to acquire star players via trade because that’s the easiest way to assure that you are aligned with star players, as the draft is a crapshoot and the competitiveness of free agency leads to the best players being overpriced.
I have trouble seeing the logic here. I can see the “trades get you sure-thing elite players” part of it, v. drafting. But the statement about free agency? That makes no sense. Players become free agents anyway and when you pay them (like with Donald and Ramsey) you don’t get discounts just cause you traded for them. You still pay out premium free agent contracts. That’s not a complaint about what the Rams are doing btw. It’s a complaint about the writer’s logic. You don’t avoid big FA contracts just cause you traded for a guy.
I just assumed he meant guys who had not gotten to their 2nd contract. You will get the player for a limited time at less than full FA price. I agree, it is weak writing to say it like that. But, you could say Stafford is cheaper now than he will be after his next contract.

AgamemnonParticipantAgamemnonParticipantLatest on the trade, the NFL nixed the trade terms, so……… It is now a 6th round pick in 22 and a 4th round pick in 23. That is a bit better for us.
Rams/Pats had interesting initial trade terms that bundled picks and exchanged for an incoming comp pick, but a change in league policy prohibits exchanging conditional comp picks.
Teams ultimately worked out a 2022 6th and 2023 4th for Michel, after revising initial terms.

Host Sosa Kremenjas highlights the Los Angeles Rams’ trade for former New England Patriots RB Sony Michel on this episode of the Locked On Rams podcast. Sosa discusses the draft-pick trade value for the Michel trade, what it means for current Rams running backs Darrell Henderson, Xavier Jones, and Jake Funk, and whether or not the Rams end up trading or cutting long-time punter Johnny Hekker. Hekker and Corey Bojorquez have been in an intense training camp battle that could lead to the release of the longest-tenured player on the team.
