…i wonder how a move would affect the players?

Will they bring the equipment manager with them?

I think I’m like you, though. I would root for the Surf for 5 years or so while rooting for the Jax/Stl Rams, and then stick with the laundry and decals and history. I had to do some soul-searching when the Rams left LA as I recall. Perhaps that was more complicated for me than you because I’m a Dodgers, Lakers, Kings fan in addition. But finally it floated to the surface to me that the zip code was irrelevant to me. I don’t live in SoCal anyway, any longer. So….city/laundry. I decided “laundry.”

You have exquisite taste in teams.

Just need to add Fresno St. to that list.

Allowing Wells to snap the ball apparently wasn’t very good strategy, either.

I had the same experience. The only radio we had until I was 12 was the family car radio so I’d sit in my parents 66 BelAire station wagon and listen to the game. They bought me a radio for Christmas when I was 12 and I wore that thing out listening to the Dodgers, Angels, Rams and Lakers in the late sixties and early seventies. Gawd how I loved to listen to Enberg, Vinny, Jerry Dogget, and Chicky Baby.

Who was chicky baby? Only heard that phrase once before.

Chicky Baby was a nickname given to Hearn by his former color analyst, former Laker player Rod Hundley.

If you’re a hockey fan you would add Hall of Famer Bob Miller, who’s done Kings’ games for the past 41 yrs.

Something of those guys had (or have) in common is they gave a very objective view of the games they broadcast, something you just don’t hear much today.

    I think i’d rather have
    a big-armed, mobile, meat-headed rookie
    than Cutler.

So you’re saying you prefer a young meathead to a veteran meathead?

Cutler is this generation’s Jeff George. Million $$ arm, ten cent head.

When given a clean pocket, James Harris was very good pure passer.

Not so good when things broke down.

Oregon State’s Sean Mannion (6-5½, 220) drew the most praise among the seniors. He scored 36 on the 50-question Wonderlic intelligence test.
“More of a third-rounder,” one scout said. “Just lacks arm strength. Good size, good production.”

Britt reminds me, in one way, of a guy I used to follow
    decades ago– Roberto Clemente.

Clemente would often look like he could barely
walk when he staggered to the plate. He’d twist
his neck and body and he’d act like he was about to
keel over — and then he’d hit a triple.

Britt always looks to me like he’s not going to get
    up after every hit.

Harkey LAUGHS at thigh injuries, btw.

    ==============================
Defensive back Lamarcus Joyner (groin) and defensive tackle Alex Carrington (thigh) are questionable. Probable after Friday workouts are linebacker James Laurinaitis (ankle), wide receiver Kenny Britt (back), cornerback E.J. Gaines (knee), tight end Cory Harkey (thigh), tight end Jared Cook (back), linebacker Will Herring (foot) and linebacker Alec Ogletree, who left Thursday’s practice early due to illness.
Also probable are center Scott Wells, defensive end Robert Quinn and guard Davin Joseph, who all received vets’ days off this week. Defensive end Eugene Sims has missed practice all week due to a death in the family but is expected to play on Sunday.

    ===========================

Must read for any Clemente fan (I’m one, too. My favorite non-Dodger).

He’s a bullpen pitcher and a good one.

When asked to go nine innings, he’ll come up a little short at times.

Not sure why some see him as anything other than that.

Bad ribs or some such thing. He’s a tough guy but if the Rams hit him and hit him?

Yes–the Rams CAN win this game.

But as a Rams fan I know that what you see this week may not look like next week. I HOPE they win. But I’m not making any bold prediction.

hurt his knee yesterday and was able to play through it….

I won’t be surprised if we see Clemens next week.

Well, if Clemens beats the rams
i think we all have to seriously consider

Ware was MIA until Robinson gave him a free path to Hill.

Miller, his early sack aside, wasn’t much of a factor in pass rush, either.

I don’t like Davis throwing with Ware and Miller in his face at all.

Hill might not fare much better but at least he won’t soil his pants at the first sign of pressure.

I don’t think so man. A lot of teams run Cover 2, the Rams even run it but obviously not as a base defense. I heard Lovie say that they mix up the coverages and they were not exclusively a Cover 2 team. I haven’t watched them closely enough to tell, but with any defense, I think it will work if you have the players.

Other than McCoy and David, I dunno what they got. Verner is OK, Goldson is not a great cover safety, so I don’t think he has the players. You need a really good mlb in Lovie’s Cover 2 as we as Rams fan know!

So you’re saying Jamie Duncan wasn’t that MLB?

just want to point out one thing. the niners only touchdown scored was in the second quarter off an interception thrown by davis in which the niners started out at the rams’ 35 yard line.

of course, that last drive the niners marched down and the rams benefited from a horrible kaepernick mistake.

then again. the rams defense was robbed of a defensive touchdown when the refs erroneously ruled a dead ball on a niners fumble.

this niners offense isn’t a world beater. i’m much more curious to see how much they’ve grown when they face the broncos in a couple weeks.

49er offense made one trip to the red zone yesterday and that was on the final drive.

Ram defense did a complete turnaround from that Monday Night second half debacle.
