Chicago (3-5) is
9th on defense
5th against the pass (!)
24th against the run
22nd on offense
21st passing
16th rushing
Cutler has not been sacked much. Bears have allowed 14 sacks with a 3.9% sack percentage when he was the qb.

Because they so thoroughly destroy the Rams in person that they figure they probably could have won the game via Skype?

November 11, 2015 at 3:15 pm #33978wvParticipantRams will win, but all their wins
will be hideously-ugly this year. Fisher-wins,
I’m gonna start calling them.Their losses will be ugly too.

The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.
Sprinkles are for winners.
November 11, 2015 at 6:21 pm #33998InvaderRamModeratorthey’re playing at home and hopefully a little healthier.
November 11, 2015 at 11:39 pm #34007PA RamParticipantThey’d better work on the silent count because I’m guessing Bears fans will take over the dome.
No matter.
Rams should win this thing as they “tweak” the offense just a bit. When Welker is in they’ll throw over the middle. When he isn’t they won’t. The defense will never catch on.
I’m hoping Quinn plays because they didn’t get much pressure last week. And they gotta get pressure on Cutler because he’s got some good receivers to throw to and basically, Jay doesn’t give a crap–he’ll throw it.
Having said all of this–Bears still have to stop Gurley and the Rams defense is pretty stingy with points.
Rams win it.

I think you’re onto something there. The Rams have been great at catching opposing defenses off guard with running Gurley up the gut, and Austin on end arounds, with an occasional screen pass. The limited play-calling just always keeps the defense guessing that on the NEXT play, the Rams will throw over the middle, and they will be ready for it. And the Rams just fool them again with one of their three plays. With Welker, they will be up to four plays on offense, and the defense will just go out of their minds.

You guys dont seem to understand Fisher-ball —
Welker was brought in to RUN it up the middle.
Thats how Fisher will threaten the middle
of the field. The fourth play will be Welker up the gut.

vNovember 12, 2015 at 8:11 am #34016DakParticipantQuinn is a key in this game. He owned the Bears’ LT last time they played. If the Rams get pressure on Cutler, who has actually been protected very well this year, I foresee a 23-10 type of game. I think Gurley will get his yards, and put an exclamation point on this game at the end. Donald could also disrupt the Bears all by himself. I’m feeling good. But, the Rams don’t have a good enough offense to ever feel too good about winning. It’s a little early for Welker to make much of a difference, but I guess if he can give them just 2-3 first downs, that would be a wonderful accomplishment.

That’s the life of a Rams fan, right there.
It’s gone from “how many times will Bruce, Holt, and Faulk all get 100 yards receiving in the same game?”
to
“if we can get 2-3 first downs, that would be wonderful, and help seal the victory.”

BEARS 18November 13, 2015 at 2:26 am #34047Eternal RamnationParticipantQuinn and Havenstein upgraded looking good for Sunday. Ayers is full go Mcdonald is probably not going to play, there is a chance but it’s slim.Still with Big Rob and the Mighty Quinn both lines should be a lot better, enough to beat the Bears.

November 13, 2015 at 1:55 pm #34058snowmanParticipantAlshon Jeffery did not practice Thursday, so there’s that.
November 13, 2015 at 3:02 pm #34059canadaramParticipantCutler has been playing well in recent weeks, Foles has been playing poorly since week one. Given that and the fact that the Bears have a good defense would normally be enough for me to say with confidence that the Bears will win this game. Add in that the dome will be full of Bears fans and it is even more incentive to pick the Chicago. However, the Bears are coming off of a short week and had to travel to and from San Diego in that time. Also, Quinn is returning and Havenstein will be back at RT and Reynolds will be a guard and Donnal will not be playing. Those facts at least offer a glimmer of hope.

November 14, 2015 at 1:52 pm #34107Eternal RamnationParticipantMcdonald has been upgraded as well , Long actually practiced so maybe next week for him now we gotta hope Ogletree’s return is relevant. With so many starters back and Jefferys’ groin issue I see the Rams winning this one.
November 14, 2015 at 6:47 pm #34112ZooeyModeratorThe Rams are different this year from past years. They are now in, I believe, the 3rd consecutive year of being the youngest team in the league. And in the past, they were erratic. Great stretches. Mind-boggling mistakes and blowups. They are more consistent this year than they have been the past two years. That, to me, is evidence of maturation. They are growing up. they are becoming more consistent.
In the past, I think, we might have seen strong performances in one area one week, and a cave-in in the areas in the next game. I’m not seeing that this year. We have seen playoff worthy play from the defense pretty consistently. And the offense, especially the passing game, has nowhere to go but up.
The team that beat Seattle, Arizona, Cleveland, and San Fran, and played well against Pittsburgh, Green Bay, and Minnesota, has enough to beat the Bears.
November 14, 2015 at 7:55 pm #34113InvaderRamModeratorthey’re healthier. they should be able to beat them. without welker.

With Forte out or dinged I can’t see that the Bears have a chance. Our O line can manage them. That’s really the game. Gurley goes for 200.
