If you did his numbers for his 5 starts, they would pretty much be awful.

56.3% completions, 6.13 yards per attempt.

BUT they look a little better in the last 4 games. That is, once he gets used to starting and reps for it, he does better.

In the last 4 games—64% completions, 7 YPA.

Also if his current stats would have held, he would only throw 3-4 INTs all year.

People didn’t notice this as much because it’s not glaring, but if you watch, he has some play-saving improv in him.

And people think his arm is bad when in fact it’s no worse than a lot of Rams #2s (Feeley, Clemens, Davis).

The issue that makes people think his arm is really bad (when it’s more just mediocre) is that his accuracy is very streaky. Every game count on a few mole-killers from him.

He can be a steady “win ugly” type who a few times a game finds a way to rescue a play.

AND he is a smart, hyper-dedicated film junkie. So, he knows how to maximize what he is.

I think what will happen going forward is that the Rams will have Keenum, Mannion, and a 2016 draft pick at qb.

AND I will say this about CK—you WANT young qbs watching and learning from him. The film junkie/maximizer part of his “make-up” is very real. It would do the kids good to learn from him. Personally, I think he’s a qb coach in the making.

    Mole killers need not apply.

The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

In fairness to Keenum, an upgrade at WR and TE would likely be a big assist for him.

So would Boras with an entire offseason to put in his own O wrinkles. Both Keenum and Boras had to jump into this trainwreck of an O on the fly. Hardly a fair test.

A maturing OL should also be a big bonus.

And a healthy Gurley for 16 games can’t be overstated.

Keenum is no Brady, but he might just pleasantly surprise when put into a better situation than he had late last year.

Well, i think Keenum is as good as
last year’s version of Peyton Manning.

So, all the Rams have to do is
have a defense as good as Denvers.

I think Keenum arm is weak and he is inaccurate. Of course, both those statements are relative. I think he is good enough for the Rams to make the playoffs. I think he will never be our QB of the future. So, like Fisher, he is my QB until I find a better one and I am looking really really hard. 😉
