Me? Brian Quick. I said that if a receiver shows anything it’s usually in his 2nd year (stats back that btw fwiw, ie. it was not just this arbitrary declaration.)

I said that I doubted he had the mentality to step up and be a full-time contributor.

I got into debates about it. I stood my ground. I was insistent.

About the Rams, I was wrong about Tavon Austin for much the same reasons you felt wrong about Quick. I thought he would excel, at least as a return specialist. His receiving numbers were blunted by Bradford’s injury, but still, I fear he may too small for his speed or not fast enough for his size.

About the NFL in general, I was wrong in thinking that the Patriots were finally going to some down to earth and be mediocre. They still won. I am waiting for them again this year to be middle of the pack, and they might without Brady for the first month of the season. For league security purposes, Belichick should be required to wear a body camera 24/7. What’s the German word for enjoying someone eles’s failure? I have that for the Patriots.

That the Rams would pay Kendricks 4.5 million / year, for 4 years. I figured, Lance Kendricks 1.5 million / year, for 2 yrs.

i was wrong about tavon. i predicted he’d take a big step forward this year.

zac stacy. i thought he and mason would provide a great running back tandem.

sam bradford. i thought 2014 would finally be the year he would put it all together.

I was wrong about the o-line. I thought it was going to be a strength. But Long was a shell of his former self, Robinson wasn’t ready, Wells was a turnstile and even steady Barksdale struggled at times.

I thought Greg Williams was going to be smarter. I thought he would continue to the Rams defensive strengths and slowly implement his changes.

I also thought Stacy was going to be a BEAST.

I thought Ogletree was going to be a pro-bowl linebacker

    I don’t like this game

I was wrong about Austin Davis.
I thought he was going to be really good,
but he proved to have some serious limitations.

I’m wrong about a lot of stuff so I’m not sure what was the most. I thought the offense would be better in general despite Bradford being out for a second season. I thought Tre Mason would be awesome. I thought the defense would be better than they were. I think a lot of these things not happening were a result of a combination of things. 1st is the OL breaking down – Long out, Saffold writhing down on the field – carted off – only to return later, Wells and Joseph deteriorating play, a rookie at LT who was supposed to get to season at guard.

Quick was coming on I thought. He had a solid role until he got hurt – hope he can come back from it. Austin not being much of a factor – he’s explosive but he’s tiny. And, the way they zone him seemed to keep him bottled up pretty well. Sean Hill was in and out. The defense was slow to respond to Williams.

Anyhoo – I’m hoping for a decent season with the thought that they can contend for a playoff spot with the talent they have. All the young veterans should be better – we will see.

    1) I thought Bradford would be fine and play really great all year for us.

    2) I was stunned and wrong ADavis played as well as he did…I did not see that coming….then, as I started getting excited for him…he reverted to his old style of panic/manic-play and looked like the QB the Rams cut the Summer before.

    3) I was stating feel Quick would not come around…but the Britt signing is what turned Quick into an NFL WR. imo
Britt showed Quick how to play hard and fight for the ball(it’s a mindset really)…
then, Quick was really impressive and started playing to his athletic talent.

Interesting thoughts on what happened to Stacy (I thought the same):

In the offseason it seems like he put on too much weight. During the pre-season and early parts of the regular season you could tell he was a bit sluggish. Just wasnt hitting the holes as hard as he could and not as nimble as he used to be. His rookie year he had a good combination of power and quickness and his feet never stopped moving on contact. Not to mention our offensive line was better at power blocking that season too.

Don’t think it was fat. It was just way too much bulk. He tried to bulk up to take the pounding of a full season but got too big. Dude looked like a cement truck out there.
