JIM FADLER: Its hard to convey how much better he looks, he keeps himself much lower into and out of his breaks, looks a helluva lot more confident and seems to improved his concentration. He had a couple of brilliant catches today. At this point all you can do is wait and see if he can translate into a game. If Quick and Britt play like this in real time its going to be great once again to be a Rams fan……
MIKE FRANKE: Brian Quick’s train continues to gain steam; he may have been the star of the day, with two big plays in 11-on-11, beating Rodney McLeod deep 11-on-11 and beating Brandon McGee pretty badly and making an excellent overhead pluck on a deep corner route. Britt, the last guy I would have picked coming in to be a worthwhile mentor, got fired up with Quick after both of those big plays.
COACHO: Schottenheimer: “Brian Quick is the most improved player out here.” For those who doubted the OC’s comments after the OTAs, need only see what it going on at training camp. It’s no accident he’s been the best player on the field that past 2 practices, and more importantly, Bradford is showing tons of confidence in Quick by THROWING HIM THE BALL. [Quick has]..been the best player on the field. There is no comparison in what he is showing this year compared to past camps. There is a swagger about him that has NEVER been visible before, and he making all the plays. And FINALLY using his size and body to his advantage.
THE HAMMER: Brian Quick 4th straight practice where he has been bpot [best player on the team]….started 11 v 11 catching a quick slant on a blitz from Bradford that would of gone all the way..followed it up with a 40+ yard reception…caught a deep in late in practice where he easily went down to snare a deliberately thrown low ball…just dominating
PETE ADKINS: Brian Quick looked like a man among boys today. I saw him connect on a couple of what appeared to be flag routes where McLeod didn’t have a chance. I realize this is just practice, but the guy looked like Terrell Owens out there catching the ball and powering through the secondary.
NICK WAGONER: Quick is off to a good start in this camp and only built on that start with Tuesday’s work. Bradford and Quick hooked up a couple of times on deep balls in early team drills and then Quick brought even more cheers when he caught another deep ball from rookie quarterback Garrett Gilbert later on.
July 29, 2014 at 10:51 pm #2840InvaderRamModeratorwhat i would like to see is him have 4 strong preseason games. maybe 20 receptions in total. he should be getting a lot of reps in the preseason if he really is making the progress in training camp. and then if stedman bailey and/or tavon can make an impact too. well. the rams might have something serious going on.
July 29, 2014 at 11:03 pm #2842MackeyserModeratorIf Britt and Quick and Austin all play as well as they look like they are ready to play and they all stay healthy and Bailey and just one more receiver steps up, this offense will be top 10. The combo of Zac Stacy and Tre Mason will be really something and create tons of opportunities in the passing game.

.Brian Quick – WR – Rams from Rotoworld
The Rams have been “very encouraged” by the play of third-year WR Brian Quick through the opening week of training camp. Phil Savage, the Senior Bowl director and former Browns GM, visited Rams camp Tuesday and came away impressed with Quick. Rams coaches believe the production is finally matching Quick’s raw speed-size combo. Quick is getting a ton of first-team reps, along with Kenny Britt, and appears to be putting his game together. Quick (6’3/218) has 4.50 wheels and was drawing Terrell Owens comps when the Rams took him 33rd overall in 2012.

20 receptions in 4 preseason games is highly unlikely. I doubt that any WR on any team reaches that mark. That is 5 catches per game and he is likely to average only one, maybe one and a half, quarters per preseason game. Remember that 5 catches per game in the regular season would be 80 catches for the season.
July 31, 2014 at 2:17 pm #2938wvParticipantWell, the fact that Quick has looked good
against McGee and Mcleod is not filling
me with confidence.I’ll be a skeptic until i see him
catch contested balls against good
opposing CBs.I ‘am’ excited about Britt, though.
If either Britt ‘or’ Quick come
through, the Rams are gonna
give teams fits.w
vJuly 31, 2014 at 2:50 pm #2940MackeyserModeratorListen here, you Seahawk fan.
Don’t come spitting all that negativity ’round here.
Quick’s finally coming into his own, see. He’s finally gonna play how he’s practiced…
Now, don’t you have an umbrella to fold?

It’s all very exciting.Maybe they have enough this year to do what they need to do.
BRADFORD: “I think this is probably the deepest group [of receivers] we’ve had since I’ve been here, the most talented group we’ve had since I’ve been here.”
Interesting he should say that since all they did was add Britt. I think he must mean guys are maturing. Bailey, for example. We’re beginning to see he has a chemistry with Bailey. Or we have seen glimpses of that so far.
A history of Rams receivers with Bradford (adapted/stolen from a different poster on another board but heavily revised by me).
2010:
Clayton – injured early but there was chemistry with Bradford when Clayton could play
Alexander – played in 7 games
Gibson – rookie
Amendola – 3rd year player, but short-gain slot guy
Robinson – banged up all year2011:
Offense out of sync all year due to learning new scheme without an off-season and getting massively injured
Alexander – productive in 5 games
Amendola – hurt early
Gibson – banged up, missed time
Lloyd – came late in a trade but played well
Pettis – rookie and looked it2012:
Amendola – 5th year pro, and Schottenheimer used him well, but only played half the season
Gibson – okay, decently productive
Pettis – barely used, but he’s a role player
Givens – showed some rookie stuff but fell off in 2013
Quick – de facto redshirt2013:
Austin – not really an every-down receiver, was a little overwhelmed early, but obviously a top weapon
Pettis – used a little more than before, productive within his role
Givens – his 2nd year an off-year as said
Bailey – late start, promising
Quick – redshirt year 2**
He did have receivers before, if Amendola and Clayton had stayed healthy (Alexander was a gamble). Imagine 2012 if they had DA all year plus Clayton.
