i want to see them add a center. groy sounds like a great fit.

adding a corner like webster would also be good.

and if possible, if they could sign a left defensive end.

this then sets them up to go pass rusher, safety, or tight end in the second round. and this draft is insanely strong in those three positions. corner too. but i think i’d rather draft a corner later for development and depth. i get this feeling that there will be some diamonds in the rough available later at that position.

I would like to see a center in FA….even though I want Elfein, I would like to see them bring some more vet leadership to the line for the short term.

I’m not overly concerned with corner as the draft is deep and they still have a very young group already in the fold.

I want them to resign Benny and GZ

    Good thread

I definitely want to see a FA Center. I also want to see Hav staying at RT and GR going to guard.

I want to see growth from the QB position. Once that happens, wins will follow.

i’ll say it right now. i want the rams to draft tyus bowser in the second round.

my guess is he won’t even be available. likely gone in second half of the first round. he reminds me a lot of khalil mack. a do everything outside linebacker who could even do some damage at defensive end. he oozes athleticism.

but if he for some reason slips to the rams’ pick, they absolutely should jump on that. he could line up at any of the linebacker spots and excel. he’s that talented.

I don’t know what to expect and trades are really hard to predict, but here are a few FAs that I am familiar with and would be happy if the Rams signed them.

WR Cordarrelle Patterson. Former 1st rounder is a good kick returner and was developing into a good receiver. Big, pretty fast and a little shifty, only 26 years old. Should not cost too much as he was not tendered and was only a part time starter in Minnesota.
C John Sullivan. Former starter in Minnesota, was a surprise cut during a year ago. Played last year with Washington as a backup. He won’t hurt us at the position until a draft pick or one of the guards is groomed and ready to take over.
CB Deshawn Shead. Played well in starting role last year for the Seahawks having 14 pass defenses, but injured his knee during the playoffs. He is a medical risk but at 28 years old he could be a solid corner for a few years assuming he recovers.
S TJ McDonald. I hope the Rams resign him. He is a good hitter and decent pass defender.
K Greg Zuerlein. Resign ‘The Leg’ too.

So far so good. Whitworth, Woods, and Webster are all good signings and I hope they get Groy. That would mean that they will not have to make a need pick in rounds 2-4, which are money rounds this year. That would leave them freer to take the best fits available in a draft that is crazy deep at corner, safety, edge rusher, DE, and TE, with a lot of WRs too. They won’t be forced to go offense in a draft that is unusually deep on defense.

Well, I would call DE a “need.” The stapler they got from Miami is not going to replace Hayes. And Sims is gone.

So they have…a not-quite-himself Quinn…and…Westbrooks. Is Longacre still around? Whatever. That isn’t exactly the bone-crushing excitement I favor from the position.

Yeah, I’ve had it with GRob at tackle. I dont ever wanna see him at Tackle again.

The way the front 7 looks now:

3-tech – Donald, Easley (with Easley coming in as a DT next to Donald in 4 man line pass rushing packages)
    NT: Brockers
DE: Westbrooks (if he is on the team or a rookie if not, or maybe W + a rookie back-up…it’s a deep DE draft)

    ROLB: Quinn
    ILB: Ogletree
    ILB: Barron
    LOLB: Barwin
(who has done it under Wade before) (plus, to put someone behind him, they could add a rookie edge rusher from a draft deep in edge rushers)

Possible depth/rotation at LB, depending who works out: Forrest Longacre Fox Littleton Hager Grigsby Northrup McKinzy

Forrest, Littleton, and Grigsby all got a bit of buzz but they also all look like ILB candidates.
