Did you notice how effective Borland was stuffing our RBs? Frequently, the play was blocked well, but Borland stuffed us at or behind the LOS.
What would a MLB like that do for our defense? Certainly JL doesn’t play that way.
I am tired of JL turning in uninspiring performances. Even yesterday when he snagged the fumble that won the game, his play was pretty anonymous. Gore generally had 5 yards before he faced opposition. JL wasn’t stuffing him.
I know. He reads and calls the sets. He’s decent in the passing game. Occasionally, he makes a play.
But when was the last time you came away from a Ram game feeling that JL had dominated the LOS? Never?
I am sick to death of anemic run defense. And I think a lot of it is JL’s inability to assert himself.
I’d sure love to see us draft a tough MLB next year.
