Upon further review….the 3rd and 1 play
At first I was mad at the play call, and yes a straight run would have been the safe play, but the Niners would have been all over it probably
After watching the replay, man……the play was there and could have gone for much more than the one yard we needed, unfortunately our two lineman had ONE guy to block and they both whiffedbanghead
First Corbett has an easy shot on him, nope…..slips right by him. Then Blythe has a shot to block him, nope…..another whiffCensored Smiley
It’s the little things that win and lose games…..so frustrating watching this

After last night’s game, @RamsNFL LT Andrew Whitworth, who recently turned 38, told me he hopes to keep playing in 2020: “My intention is to play football. We’ll see if it works out.”Football Perspective@fbgchase
Over the last 3 years, quarterbacks who took 6+ sacks and threw 2+ interceptions were 1-18, with the one win coming against a rookie Josh Allen/Nate Peterman Bills.Garoppolo became the second to win with those negative plays last night.

Higbee’s late-season emergence is showing exactly why the Rams gave him a four-year extension in early September.
With his 104 yards on a team-high nine catches, the former Western Kentucky star posted his fourth consecutive game of 100 or receiving yards.
How rare is the feat Higbee accomplished? He’s only the fourth tight end to do so, according to NFL research, joining Travis Kelce, Jimmy Graham (twice), and Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez.
Not bad company to be in.
December 22, 2019 at 3:15 pm #109635znModeratorTaylor Rapp takes blame for costly blown coverage vs. 49ers
Rapp accepted the blame for blowing the coverage and allowing Sanders to get open, admitting his mistake of not playing over the top to defend the deep pass.
“It’s tough when I could have done a better job of getting over the top,” said Rapp, via the Whittier Daily News. “I was supposed to get over the top a little bit.

It feels like Aaron Donald hasn’t been the human Death Star this season that he’s been in years past, right? Well, he now has 12 (or more) sacks for the second straight season. Do you know how many defensive tackles in NFL history have multiple 12-sack seasons?Six.
Ever.

#LARams LT Andrew Whitworth on 2020: “My intention is to play football.”Could the 38-year old shun retirement yet again to saddle up next season? And how would that affect the Rams’ setup in free agency?

Rams played one of three toughest schedules this year
At least according to sources I’ve looked at, including Pro-Football-Reference (t-1st), TeamRankings.com (1st), and others.
Just a factor we should keep in mind. Rams finished the season 2-5 vs. playoff teams and if they beat Arizona will be 7-2 vs. the rest of the league.

To kick off Arizona week…The @RamsNFL are the first team in NFL history to win 5 straight against an opponent (the Cardinals) while scoring 30+ and allowing fewer than 17 in each game.
Since Sean McVay’s hiring:
33-0
32-16
34-0
31-9

#LARams Highest-Graded Players from Week 16:Offense – Tyler Higbee (87.7)
Defense – Dante Fowler (90.2)
Higbee was the highest-graded offensive player in each of the last 3 weeks.
He was also the 2nd-highest in Week 13

Higbee becomes the fourth TE since 1970 to go 100+ in four straight as Travis Kelce, Jimmy Graham (twice), and Tony Gonzalez all eclipsed 100+ receiving yards in four consecutive gamesI’ve got one more interesting thing to add. The Arizona Cardinals are the worst team at defending TE’s. The Rams play the Cardinals this weekend. Oh, also, no TE has gone 100+ receiving yards in 5 straight. Higbee can set a record.
If you recall, Higbee went 7-107-1 vs ARI.
Lindsey Thiry@LindseyThiry
Rams OBL Dante Fowler – playing on a one-year, $12 million deal — having himself a season.Fowler ranks 7th in the NFL with 11.5 sacks (previous career best was 8). Here’s to thinking Fowler is going to get to Kyler Murray.

AD is 6th in the league in sacks (12.5)
How nutty is THAT?!
The rest of the top-16 sack leaders are edge rushers.
Given his position and rate at which he’s double-teamed… bow smiley

Tyler Higbee really just woke up one day and said “f*** it, I want to be Rob Gronkowski” and he’s been one of the best TE’s in the league ever since. Wild.December 23, 2019 at 4:43 pm #109680znModeratorPFF LA Rams@PFF_Rams

TYLER HIGBEE, LOS ANGELES RAMS
Higbee … finished with nine catches for 104 yards and six first-down conversions. He created 53 yards after the catch while forcing two missed tackles, and he added 11 solid snaps in pass protection to cap off an excellent all-round performance.December 23, 2019 at 8:54 pm #109688znModeratorQuick thread on Jared Goff from Week 16.
Shame that costly pick-6 marred his night (and #LARams playoff hopes), because some of these throws ranked among his best this season, in my eyes.

Watch #57 think it's the 2nd play calling progression (PA pass) and take the over route and now there's room for the 3rd progression (the screen) pic.twitter.com/GnxiXJ8h4O

BEST COMPLIMENT OF AARON DONALD EVER…
BEST compliment I have EVER heard about any player ever, is a reference to Aaron Donald at the 23:30 mark of the video. Pretty much sums up why Donald is worth the $$s he gets.
Former Ram, Chris Long, does this podcast from his studio and invites his dad on the show. To Raider haters it is a lot of Raiders spam, but a great listen nevertheless
Gotta love the Jack Youngblood photo on the wall, and the Todd Gurley figurine in front of the Willie Nelson photo.
Some other interesting points of interest: Defensive Line strategy is discussed at 45:15 … and DPOY is discussed at 47:10

the niners ranked 3rd best in offensive points allowed heading into saturday night’s game against the rams, but dropped to 5th after the rams offense hung 31 on them
all told, it was the second most offensive points given up by the niners this year, the second most passing yards, the second most total yards, and the second most first downs – only the 12-3 saints have had a better offensive showing against the stingy niners defense in 2019.

finding quality edge rushers is usually harder than finding good ILBs. But Littleton is outstanding and would probably be my pick for the Rams to keep. It’s a toss-up imo

Sounds like RT Rob Havenstein is shut down for 2019.RB John Kelly could be added this week, with Darrell Henderson on I/R.

Niners average giving up 17.8 offensive ppg at home so far this year (including Rams game) so we out performed that by 13 points.
They average 30.1 offensive ppg at home and we held them to 27, outperforming by 3 points.
I don’t think it was a game where any one thing was the difference. The pick 6 was big. So were the defensive breakdowns.
Even with the pick 6 i thought the offense was great, came up really big in a big game.
Defense not as much but they played great a lot of the time too.
