    den-the-coach

The Los Angeles Rams have not finalized their coaching staff and they still need a running back coach and special teams coordinator. One would surmise that they must have someone targeted on the Super Bowl Coaching Staffs, otherwise, why not finalize the staff now?

Looking over both teams I don’t think a RB Coach will come off one of those staffs. IMO, it must be Special Teams and I believe it could be Rod Wilson of the Chiefs. Other teams have poached prople working under the renowned Special Team Coach Dave Toub. Wilson has some collegiate experience besides being an NFL Veteran of six years and an academic all american from South Carolina. I believe would be a nice replacement for John Fassel.

den-the-coach: Other teams have poached prople working under the renowned Special Team Coach Dave Toub.

Rick Gosselin, in his annual STs rankings, put the Chiefs at 6.

    Football Outsiders ranks them 2nd.

    PFF ranks them 1st.

    Here’s PFF on that:

    Special Teams Rank: 1
The one seed in the AFC and a perennially good special teams unit led by head-coaching candidate Dave Toub.

The Ravens have reached an agreement on a contract extension with Pro Bowl cornerback Marcus Peters, the team announced Saturday, rewarding a well-traveled but proven ballhawk who’s helped transform the team’s defense.

The extension is reportedly a three-year deal through 2022 worth $42 million, including $32 million guaranteed. The contract also will pay Peters $20.5 million next year, according to ESPN. Only five cornerbacks this year were under contract for more than $14 million annually, his extension’s yearly rate.

If they can draft in the top 20 with a class that we all expected to need a redshirt year in the first place, then why not trade early pics for proven players.

Sullivan calls McVay “the best coach I’ve ever played for, in any sport at any level.” He cheered for the Rams in 2019 and took no joy in their underachievement, much of which was attributable to the poor early-season play by the offensive line.

    from https://theramswire.usatoday.com/2020/01/30/nfl-rams-jalen-ramsey-aaron-donald-defense/

Aaron Donald loves having Ramsey roaming the secondary, saying he helps everyone else on defense – especially the pass rushers.

“It was like he was there for a year or two already,” Donald said of how Ramsey fit in the defense, on ESPN’s Golic and Wingo. “He’s one heck of a football player. He’s one of the best at what he does at his position. Adding him to the mix with the players that we’ve got, it was definitely a plus for us. We lost two good corners – that was hurting, we were worried about that – but we brought another good one in, so the things you’re able to do with him and the way we use him to help us as far as pass rushers. He can lock up one side of the field and guard the best wide receivers on the field. So when you’ve got a guy like that, he tends to help the defensive line make some plays, too. Adding him to the mix was a big plus for us.”
