October 28, 2014 at 5:54 pm #10686AgamemnonParticipantRams have added LB Korey Toomer to 53-man roster, promoting him from practice squad (he was signed just last week).

Promotion of Toomer shows team concerned about coverage units _ as they should be after allowing 99 KOR for TD in KC.

October 28, 2014 at 6:08 pm #10688AgamemnonParticipantRams like Keenum, and wouldn't be surprised to see him signed to practice squad if he clears waivers tomorrow.

With promotion of Toomer, loss of Mike Remmers to Carolina's 53-man roster, and Tuesday's release of Garrett Gilbert, 3 spots open on PS.

EARTH CITY, Mo. — With injuries piling up, the St. Louis Rams did more roster shuffling than their trade for safety Mark Barron on Tuesday.
It was a busy day at Rams Park as the Rams made a series of tweaks to their active roster and their practice squad.
Most noteworthy was the expected move to place left tackle Jake Long on injured reserve after he suffered a second ACL tear in as many seasons in Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. To replace him, the Rams promoted linebacker Korey Toomer from the practice squad. Toomer just signed with the Rams last week.
The Rams also created another opening on their active roster by releasing quarterback Case Keenum. With Keenum gone, Barron steps into that vacated roster spot. Receiver Brian Quick is expected to go to injured reserve also, meaning the Rams will likely make another addition to the active roster in the next 24 hours or so.
Meanwhile, on the practice squad, the Rams also released quarterback Garrett Gilbert and lost offensive tackle Mike Remmers to Carolina’s active roster. After subtracting Keenum and Gilbert, the Rams now have just two quarterbacks on the roster in the form of Shaun Hill and Austin Davis though it’s possible Keenum could be brought back to the practice squad should he clear waivers.
As it stands, the Rams also have three openings on the practice squad though they’re expected to fill one with offensive tackle Steven Baker.

He replaces Brian Quick, who goes on IR.

Practice squad filled out with signing of WR Emory Blake, TE Justice Cunningham, OG Travis Bond.
— Jim Thomas (@jthom1) October 29, 2014
So 53-man roster is now set and includes just 4 wide receivers.
— Jim Thomas (@jthom1) October 29, 2014
There is one practice squad opening, and it looks like that will go to QB Case Keenum if he clears waivers.

Here is the extra move. I guess we are just waiting on Keenum now.- This reply was modified 10 years, 1 month ago by Agamemnon.
October 29, 2014 at 2:51 pm #10761AgamemnonParticipantHearing if and when Rams add WR to active roster it will be Damian Williams, who was last with Miami.

Jeff Fisher said that new safey Mark Barron is 1 1/2 hours away from showing up at Rams facility but still has "chance" to contribute SUN.

Rams promote guard Washington to 53-man roster
2 hours ago • By Jim Thomas jthomas@post-dispatch.com 314-340-8197The Rams promoted offensive guard Brandon Washington from the practice squad on Wednesday filling the final opening on their 53-man roster. Washington 6-2, 318, takes the roster spot created by placing wide receiver Brian Quick on the injured reserve list with a season-ending shoulder injury.
Washington, 26, entered the league as a sixth-round draft choice by Philadelphia in 2012 out of the University of Miami (Fla.). He spent the entire 2012 season on the Rams’ practice squad. Last season, he spent 10 games on the Rams’ 53-man roster in two stints sandwiched around a six-week stay on the practice squad.
Washington finally got to play his first NFL game in the 2013 season finale at Seattle, playing 17 snaps at guard.
The team also added TE Justice Cunningham, WR Emory Blake, and OG Travis Bond to their practice squad, and confirmed the signing of OT Steven Baker to the practice squad. They still have one spot open on the practice squad, and it’s anticipated that that spot will go to QB Case Keenum if he clears waivers later this afternoon.
Cunningham and Bond were with the team in training camp but didn’t survive the final cut. Cunningham was waived injured with a high ankle sprain he suffered in the preseason finale. Blake was released from the practice squad Oct. 20, after showing up late for a team meeting.
